Jaden checked his phone, and nodded again.

"Cool." he said.

"Well... yes, it's a right oddity." he agreed.

"I mean... technically you're a hunter that happened to get mana and become a mage, though." he then added, before thinking about it.

"...unless there's mana somewhere in your ancestry." he said further.

"Regardless, doesn't matter about the semantics. You're a rare breed." he commented.

Jaden picked up the phone and started entering his info.

"Gotcha." he said.

"Oh." he then muttered, thinking about her scars, but unsure as to whether or not he should mention them.

"Your speech is improving." he told her.

"I know it's been a while, but still. While the stutter is there, it's far less pronounced." he went on.

"That takes strength to do."

Jaden just sighed a little... but she could see his small smile.

"True." he said.

"Not often you meet one." he agreed.

"..." he was then silent, pursing his lips a little, and then nodded to himself.

"You know... let's never lose track of each other again, eh?" he suggested.

"Let's swap digits."

"Oh, hey, no worries." Jaden replied.

"Sorry we fell out of touch." he said.

"....." he was then silent, before sighing quietly.

"I never forgot about you." he then told her.

"Sorry if that sounds creepy, but it's true. I've always remembered back when I was helping you while your father was in the hospital." he went on.

"How is he doing, anyway?" he then asked her.

Jaden just chuckled again, but nodded.

"Philosophy, eh?" he asked.

"That's kinda neat." he said.

"Why philosophy?" he asked her. "What drew you to that?" he asked further.

"Huh. I see." Jaden replied.

"University, eh? For what?" he asked.

"Whatcha gonna be an expert in?" he asked further with a bit of a chuckle.

"...also, pardon my saying so, but you're speaking far more than I'm used to." he then commented.

"I like it. You have a pretty voice."

Jaden just shrugged.

"Not... much, really." he said.

"Been doing some shows, of course." he told her. "Seems I'm gaining more popularity than just the Hot Topic goths." he went on.

"Which is good. More appeal is generally a good thing." he reasoned.

"Means less insufferable teens, too." he mumbled.

"Also, summer break?" he asked.

"So you're still in school." he commented.

Again, Jaden smiled.

"And that is amazing." he replied.

"It's the perfect reason to do something." he told her.

"All I'M saying, is that it'd be great if you could support yourself while doing it, BY doing it." he went on.

"You know, do what you love, and all." he summarised.

"That being said, it's YOUR decision." he added with a small shrug.

Back at home, Aly was still worried, and Ryker hadn't returned yet, as he was still at work.

She sat in one of the chairs, looking out the window.

"...." she was silent, pondering what she was to do now.

What was Eke doing?

Should she be worried?

What if something happened?

But she trusted Eke, and wondered how long he would be gone.

"...I hope he gets back before Ryker does..." she whispered.

Jaden just entered and looked at her as she entered as well, letting the door close.

"Hm." he muttered.

"I see." he said.

"That's a shame. Especially for someone with your level of talent." he complimented her.

"........hmmm." he muttered further, seemingly thinking hard about something.

"Anyway, what do you want?" he asked.

"Feel free to get whatever. It's all on me." he offered with a smile.

"Eke?" Aly asked, but Eke was gone.

"......" she was silent, and bit her lip for a moment, before sighing.

"....no." she said to herself.

"No, I need to trust him." she told herself further.

"I need to have faith in his judgement."

"Heh." Jaden chuckled.

"That's fair." he said.

"And really nice of you." he went on, before pausing.

"...though, would you LIKE to make money off of it?" he asked. "Which is to say, make a living off of it? A career out of it?" he asked further.

Jaden looked over to the shop in question, and shrugged.

"Sure thing." he said.

"Not sure if I've ever been in it, but it's good to try new places." he reasoned.

He then looked back to her, as they started to walk, and smirked.

"So. You're doin' a bit of the magic thing, eh?" he asked.

"How's that goin' for ya?" he asked further.

Jaden looked confused for a moment.

"You... can?" he asked.

"I...all right." he muttered.

"And coffee? Sure thing." he said. "I could go for some coffee with a pretty lady." he commented with a charming smile.

"Where?" he asked.

"Any places in mind?"
