"...." the teacher was silent for a moment.

"First thing I'm doing is having you see the school nurse." he told her.

"Then we'll get Cain or your father to bring you home." he said.

With that, she was taken to the nurse, and examined.

"...so you just have a headache?" she asked Lunet.

"Nothing else? No feelings of dizziness or lightheadedness or anything?" she asked further.

A few seconds later, she heard the teacher approach her.

"Good lord!" he exclaimed.

"Lunet, are you all right!?" he asked her, before looking out to the others.

"Watch where you're kicking the ball!" he barked at them.

"Why didn't anyone call out to her!?" he then exclaimed.

"I tried!" one of the students, one she'd become decent friends with, replied. "But I couldn't shout quick enough!" they added.

"Wonderful." the teacher grumbled.

"Lunet, how are you?" he asked her again.

"....." Hal was silent again.

"Those bastards." he growled.

'Their leader escaped from what I heard... I will find him and make him pay.' he thought. 'He's made too many suffer, and now it's personal. I will find him, and make him pay.' he vowed further.

"We'll get you a new one." he told her.

"You were due for an upgrade, anyway." he reasoned.

"For now, just focus on getting your strength and energy back."

Aly chuckled a little when Eke made his declaration.

"A little secret." she said.

"Ryker's going to be getting one soon." she whispered.

"He wanted it to be a surprise, so I didn't tell you." she added with a small giggle, before looking at the building.

"And wow, this place is pretty big." she commented, looking it over from where she was.

"You're a sweet girl." Hal told her, leaning in and kissing her forehead.

"We'll see." he then repeated.

"Anyway, what do you want to do now?" he asked.

"Is there anything you want right now, or would you prefer to just sleep?" he asked further.

"I can tell you're drained and tired."

"Hm." Hal muttered, before taking her hand and checking, concentrating on it.

"....you're nearly out." he told her.

"Which is to say, it IS running out." he clarified.

"I'll use what little you have left the help me, then." he said further, before snapping his fingers.

As he did, she felt the last of something drain from her body, and she felt VERY tired once more. But also, she felt more like... herself... once more.

"Done." he said.

"I can't guarantee how it'll work, or if it'll work at all, but we'll see."

"................." Hal was silent for a moment, before smiling softly.

"You really are a wonderful girl." he told her.

"Don't let anyone call you otherwise." he said.

He then leaned in and took her by the hand.

"Tell you what. Let's grant it together." he suggested.

"We'll count to three, snap our fingers, and then see what the wish does."

"Of course, sweetie." Hal replied.

"I cannot guarantee that I can grant it, some things are even out my MY power, but I'll grant whatever I can within the limits of my power." he assured her.

"What is it?" he asked.

"What do you wish, dear?"

"Yes. We can." Hal replied.

With that, he pulled Lunet into his arms, and looked at Angela.

"Thank you, Angela." he said to her.

The two then nodded at each other, before he and Lunet disappeared from where they were, appearing in Lunet's room at their home.

"All right, we're here." he told her.

"Safe at home."

Hal just nodded at Angela.

"All right." he said.

"Lunet, you heard that?" he asked his daughter.

Lunet nodded in response.

"I can leave early for the day if you want to go home right now." he told her.

"Just say the word, and we'll be off."

Hal just sighed.

"I see." he said.

"Very well." he told her.

"And when can you go home?" he asked, before shaking his head slightly.

"I don't know." he said.

"Let's find out." he told her, before calling Angela into the room.

"Angela, when can Lunet come home?" he asked the medic.

"....I don't know." Hal admitted.

"He SHOULDN'T, but I don't know how he thinks." he sighed.

"Do you want him brought in here?" he asked. "So you can talk to him about this?" he asked further.

"Or do you think you could even handle that?" he then inquired.

For all he know, it could be too much stress for her right now.

"No, sweetie." Hal replied.

"This didn't happen because of your wish." he told her.

"This was merely just an unhappy coincidence." he went on.

"...if I were to wager a guess, this was originally just supposed to happen to Cain." he then said. "But you got dragged into it because of what you were at the time." he guessed further.

"But this isn't your fault." he then assured her.

"Please. Don't blame yourself, of the wish."

Hal quickly put his hands on her shoulders.

"Easy, easy there." he said.

"Calm down, you need to rest, still." he told her.

"And Cain is with his parents." he then said. "He's being looked after and tended to." he continued.

"From what I've heard, he's all right, no need to worry." he then assured her.
