"...just concern yourself with Ilias." Lindsay replied.

"That's what matters here." he told her.

"...how bad?" he asked.

"Will he make a full recovery?" he asked her.

She didn't know it, but what he said next hinged on her answer.

"I'm fine." Zeke responded.

"Now, anyway." he said.

"At least I know what's happening." he sighed.

"...." Lindsay was silent for a moment.

"Gone." he said.

"Completely and utterly, without chance of recovery?" he asked.

"Looking back on it, should have been a hint." Zeke admitted.

"Wasn't thinking straight." he said further.

"So that's kinda on me." he went on with a shrug.

"At least you're... okay?" he then muttered, thinking about it.

"I assume you are, at least. Relatively, anyway."

Zeke looked mildly surprised at that.

"...oh!" he said.

"Huh. Well, what I saw makes a lot more sense now." he commented.

"You DID die. It's just... well, your soul now serves a higher power." he went on.

"Fair enough." he said further.

"Good for you."

"....I see." Zeke said after a pause.

"That sounds jarring. And frightening. And lonely." he commented.

"And you're saying that future may still happen." he went on.

"Great." he muttered.

"So, care to explain why I saw your soul leave your body and pass on?" he then asked.

Zeke shook his head.

"Not really, no." he said.

"One of my aunts or uncles might." he told her.

"But let's bottom-line this." he then said further.

"Would saying 'you had a vision of the future while you were in a coma, and needed to change things here in the present' be adequate?" he asked.

"....uh... right." Zeke replied.

"Kiah won't be too happy about that." he said.

"And all right." he went on.

"How about what's going on." he suggested.

"What the HELL is happening with you? Or TO you? Or Kiah? Or whatever?" he asked.

Ty waved as she left, stunned for a moment, lightly touching where she'd kissed him.

"...whatever she went through, must've been a doozy." he mumbled.

Sure enough, when Hazel returned, she saw that Zeke was there... but it looked like he'd just returned.

Meaning he had done his job of distracting Kiah for as long as he could.

He was now peering over the roof, looking down at everyone and everything.

Ty was definitely caught off guard by the kiss, before clearing his throat a little at her questions.

"Yes." he said.

"Ilias has been." he told her.

"And when he's been unable to, he gave ME directions and stuff so I could do it." he went on.

"I was the last one to be there, yesterday, and they were just fine."

Ty was speechless as he saw and heard this.

"...ah..." he stammered.

"I... I know." he said.

"It couldn't be helped." he told her.

"But... it's fine, it's cool. Really." he assured her, stunned she was so broken up over this.

Tyson seemed to be genuinely surprised by the hug, but returned it quickly.

"Hey... it's all right..." he said.

"It's cool. I'm all right." he assured her.

"A lot better now that I know you're not really gone." he went on.

"But it's all right. I promise I'm fine."

Ty raised an eyebrow at that.

"...sounds familiar." he said.

"Not sure WHY, though..." he then mumbled.

"Whatever." he then sighed.

"If you had survived and been 'broken' again, odds are that would have hit even harder." he guessed quietly.

Ty just shook his head again.

"Died and got better, huh?" he asked.

"That's MY shtick." he told her with a small laugh.

"...and I'm fine." he said.

"Or... I will be once this fully processes up here." he muttered, gesturing to his head.

"...." he was silent for a moment, looking at her hand, and then at her.

"So I see." he said.

"And feel." he muttered.

"And hear." he said further.

"...I assume there's an entire story behind that?" he asked her.
