"I can understand wanting somewhere secluded and private." he told her. "Especially when you're surrounded by all this beautiful nature." he went on, as he stepped inside.

When he did, and looked around, what he saw was... well, it was nice, it was cozy, and it was modest, without being homely.

If anything, it was homey. This felt like a home. A real home.

"...wow." he said.

"I can sense the comfort and warmth in this place." he told her.

"This already feels like a safe and inviting home, for those truly welcome here."

Yeah, that is true.

also, damn... we've been on a LOT of avatar forum venues, haven't we?

"Sadly, mana is the ultimate identifier." Julien responded.

"It can never truly be hidden away." he lamented. "We can change our looks all we want, but we can't change our mana." he said further, before thinking about that statement.

"Well... it CAN change over time, but not to a point where it is unrecognisable from what it once was." he clarified.

"...and happy to see me, huh?" he asked.

"That will be a nice change." he told her.

"I assume you and your mother are the only ones that live around here, and very few, if any, know about it?" he then inquired.

"I did not mean to insult or insinuate anything." Julien replied.

"My apologies." he said.

"I know very little about the Fyrane line, other than what Rowena Fyrane has put forth, in terms of image and reputation." he continued.

"If your mother isn't nervous about strangers, then so be it." he went on.

"I look forward to meeting her." he smiled.

That... doesn't surprise me, sadly.

Julien looked around briefly, before noticing that Demitra was heading off.

"I can see that." he told her, quickly following.

"A thick one, too." he went on.

"Seriously, I can tell that these trees were allowed to grow unhindered, without any intervention from anyone." he commented further. "...I like it. It's peaceful and serene here." he said.

"...and you sure your mother will be okay with my suddenly being with you?" he asked.

"From what I've heard, Fyranes can be... well, twitchy, when it comes to strangers suddenly coming into their lives."

"I know, but it was the best I could do." Julien responded.

"And whether it changes for the better, or for the worse, at least it'll be change." he told her. "I'd rather things change than grow stagnant." he continued. "...despite my living here for a while." he then mumbled.

"Anyway." he said further, slinging his bag over his shoulder.

"I cam handle heat." he assured her, extending his own hand and grabbing hers.

"I'm ready." he said.

"Let's go."

"Nice to meet you too, Miss Fyrane." Julien responded.

He then looked around, and heaved a heavy sigh.

"One second." he told her.

He then grabbed the bag of claws and set it down on a small table that was nearby. He went around the place, checking around, and ultimately just grabbed some old leather, some shears, and some sewing supplies. Everything else he threw into a pile, and shoved into a corner... which amounted to nothing more than scraps of clothing that had been worn down to shreds, a crude cup, and cracked and dirty plates.

He took his sewing and leatherworking supplies, and put them in a larger sack, as well as the bag of claws, and looked at her.

"Okay." he said.

"I'm ready." he confirmed.

"I have everything that might be of use to me, or that's worth taking." he told her further. "Everything else I just... used, because it was here when I moved into this area of town."

You'd better not sleep in!

Hmmm, yeah, I could have worded that better.

The man paused and thought for a moment.

"Some." he replied.

"I'm rusty on... well... Asian languages." he told her. "Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Don't... know a lick of them." he mumbled. "English is my native, obviously, and I'm fluent in Spanish, French, and Welsh." he continued. "Everything else I know well enough to... pass." he said further. "I can get by enough to let people know I can't speak the language properly, but can get key info if I need it." he went on.

"....and I just realised I never introduced myself." he then said, her last question hitting him.

"I'm Julien." he told her.

"Julien Wolfe" he formally introduced himself.

Event forum moves a mile-a-minute, least I can do is try and keep this in the public eye, so to speak.

If nothing else, may as well try to stop this thread from getting buried.
