Nate nodded in response.

"Well..." he mumbled.

"I'm hard-working, dedicated, I get along well with others, I'm currently in Uni for a medical degree..." he listed off, before stopping and sighing. He knew what she was asking.

"And your life force aura is telling me that you're feeling stressed and it's wrecking havoc on your health." he commented.

"I can see the flickers of not getting enough sleep. A few other things, but yeah." he mumbled.

"Overall, your aura says you're healthy, but need sleep. As it also seems like you have a cold brewing."

"All right." Nate responded.

The two of them then left the break room, and made their way to her office. She gestured for him to enter, which he did, and she shut the door behind them. Once he made his way to a chair and sat down, she did the same, but behind her desk.

She could also see that Nate was quite nervous, but holding it together.

He looked around a little, and something caught his eye. Well... a few things.

A few disorganised things... some slight, some quite noticeable.

He then looked towards Angela, and smiled.

"Pleasure to meet you, Doctor Edwards."

Nathan looked to her and nodded.

"Yes." he replied. "That's me." he confirmed.

"Doctor Edwards?" he then asked her, causing the woman to nod.

Nate smiled at her, before looking at Alicja once more.

"We can talk about that later, if you have the time." he said.

"Though, fair warning, it's not as awful as I made it out to be. I was just being neglectful of my own health in favour of my studies." he truncated it.

Nate could sense that she was... not keen on Dark Elves. But he wasn't about to comment on that. Odds are it was linked to the 'experimentation', and as she had previously said, that was too heavy for a 'first date'.

But he took in all she said, nodding as he did so.

"I see, I see." he said.

"That's... quite fascinating." he told her.

"Man... this world is big..." he then commented. "So much I never knew..." he went on.

"And I've been learning... a LOT... since Lunet stepped into my life and intervened in my self-destructive behaviour."

Again, Nate was feeling overwhelmed. She called it a 'first date', which flustered him, she could tell what he could do, and confirmed that she was an elf. He was about ready to start hyperventilating slightly, but calmed himself down.

"I..." he stammered.

"Right." he said.

"One thing... at a time..." he mumbled, talking to himself, mostly.

"So you're an elf." he commented.

"A wood elf." he went on.

"Seems I have now learned that elves ARE real, and there are different kinds."

Nate was taking all this in, but suddenly three things hit him, one after the other.

"...experimentation?" he asked.

"What sort of exper-" he started to ask further, before the second thing hit.

"Wait, hold on..." he mumbled.

"See?" he asked. "You can tell I can-" he was going to inquire, before seeing her ear. Well, one of them.

"You..." he stammered.

"Wait, is that... ear... elven?" he asked.

"You're an elf?"

Nate was still stunned for a moment, before shaking his head and quickly following her. They made their way to the break room, and he sat down in one of the chairs, scanning the place.

"...this is really nice." he commented.

"This is a break room that... well, it's pretty relaxing and homey." he said further.

He then looked at Alicja, and nodded slightly.

"Also, hello Alicja." he greeted her.

"...so how do you like working here?" he asked, making polite conversation, but also doing a little bit of lowkey scouting as to the general attitude and 'feel' of the place he was interviewing to work in.

Nate looked over towards her, and resisted the urge to recoil.

Surrounding her was an aura that looked like it was full of the vitality of nature... but he could see... so much more in it. So many... different pieces of aura speckled within her own.

In confused him greatly, but he cleared his throat a little.

"Ah, hello." he greeted her back.

"My name's Nathan." he said.

"I'm... I'm here for a 9pm interview with... Dr. Edwards." he told her, almost forgetting to refer to Angela more respectfully at this point.

Nate returned the hug, and they parted ways. He watched her go, until she was out of sight, before looking back at the medical wing, steeling himself, taking a few quick breaths, and walking in.

When he did, he looked around, seeing nobody there.

And then it occurred to him; he had NO idea where he was going IN the medical wing.

"....ah..." he stammered.

"H-hello?" he said, looking around, too scared to actually call out.

For all he knew, there were patients here, trying to rest.

"....right." Nate mumbled, as they approached the medical wing.

"Guess this is it." he said.

"You said you had some business here, so... guess you're off to do so." he told her.

"And I'm... hopefully not going to blow this amazing opportunity." he went on.

"I mean... the worst that can happen is that they reject me... and I have THAT on my mind... which distracts me from my studies... which causes me to flunk... and then I end up working in fast food for the rest of my life until I die old and alone smelling of fryer oil-" he babbled, before slapping himself across the cheek. Not hard enough to leave a mark, but enough to snap himself out of it.

"...............I'm not nervous, no!" he exclaimed with a nervous laugh, before sighing and taking a huge breath, holding it in, and then exhaling.

"Just... go in... and do your best, Nathan." he told himself quietly.

"Wow..." Nate replied.

"That's kinda scary." he told her. "Too weak the breathe, almost, for weeks? That would have... well... ruined my schoolwork and such." he reasoned, before pausing suddenly.

"...and that's the first thing I thought of." he mumbled.

"Wow." he said further.

"I have MY priorities!" he declared with a light laugh.

"But then again, my past clearly shows I value getting my academics over maintaining my health." he sighed.

"Thankfully, you came into my life and put a stop to that on the quick-fast."

"...huh." Nate muttered.

"Well... I suppose I should be flattered." he said.

"I think?" he then mumbled.

"I mean... well... I dunno, depends on how picky she is, and what constitutes 'eye-catching' for her." he reasoned, before just sighing and shaking his head slightly, looking around.

"You weren't kidding when you said I was going into the deep end." he commented.

"I'm not even here for 5 minutes and already a succubus tries to... erm... abscond with me? I guess?"

"....I see." Nate replied.

"It's scary that you're saying that's 'all' it is." he commented.

"...wait..." he then mumbled.

"Okay, so, succubi are real." he then said.

"...but I'm not married. Or even in a relationship." he went on.

"Don't they only go for married men?" he asked.

"Take care of yourself." Azazel replied.

"Both a'ya!" he added, before he walked off, waving as he did so.

"Bye, then!" Nate called back.

"And.. right, yeah..."' he then mumbled, as the two of them started walking.

"What... what DID happen back there?" he asked her.

"It's... kinda fuzzy and blurry..."
