@Another Movie Addict: It is! I'm always upset because they never include that bit when they re-tell the story. Forever snubbed.

I worship the goddess Eris. She started the first war of men accidentally, when a bunch of jerks didn't invite her to a party. Jerks.

@vengeance: That game does have a nice look to it. I remember so many misadventures in theme park games... there was one where you could control salt-levels in fries and sugar levels in drinks, I'd just turn them up all the way and watch customers run back and fourth between them forever. I was such an evil capitalist XD
@McMoney: I dig all the games you're playing. My tastes have a wide range, I'll play almost anything... less-so with sports games. I'm a sucker for character customization and phat lewt.
@Bioshock: Fallout and Stardew Valley have stolen my soul so many times now...

Well, I managed to survive the last steam sale without buying a single game... but here I am jonesing for something new anyway. Despite my 100+ wishlist items and the last two days of browsing, I can't seem to pick a winner. One minute I want an oldschool roguelike, the next I want a simulation game, or maybe an open world RPG, then perhaps a old fashioned FPS... I'm too picky!
What games are you hooked on right now? Any you're looking forward to in the future? Why do you love them? Any good co-op games out there? Should I just buy something on my wishlist and stop torturing myself?

My dog watches TV and gets really into it. He roots for the good guys, growls at the bad guys and goes absolutely nuts for his favorite animal: The horse. He has favorite shows and he gets mad if I put on certain scary movies.

@Kozi: The same way I play the 151 games I have now... sporadically and only for about 5 minutes a day, two days or so at a time.

There are 110 items on my wishlist on sale. My wishlist is 111 items big. I really can't handle this kind of pressure.

I'm really glad I'm not the only one.
I'm a dark and brooding metal head, so people assume my hatred of the holidays is some sort of statement about how dark and brooding I am, and I get a lot of flak for it. People want to wish me happy holidays extra hard, sing songs I can't stand extra loud, and then laugh at my lack of spirit. The truth is, every holiday from Thanksgiving to New years has taken a loved one away from me. Wishing me a happy holiday? I appreciate the sentiment, but its really not going to happen. This time of year is cursed. It was the same when I worked in a nursing home... more residents passed away for the holidays. Its the same for a lot of people I know, too.
Once I had the magic taken away, I started to see how any real celebrations had been twisted into making people constantly spend money they didn't have. Home-made gifts just don't land the same in your 30's. If I don't spend more money than I have this time of year, I'm also riddled with guilt. I've always been the type to buy gifts for people when I want to, and this whole need to do it on a specific day makes it feel meaningless.
Not to mention, the person who used to be the center of my holiday enjoyment, my grandmother, did something so vile, evil, and reprehensible, that my family was torn apart. She lives at my mothers house now, so I rarely get to see her, and she committed the heinous act against my aunt, who is also sadly mostly removed from my life.
The only bright side is that my cousin is coming over to my house today. I havent really seen her since my wedding... and once in the hospital when we thought my crap-grandma was going to die (no such luck.... thanks a lot holidays!). I want to take the holidays back... I'm never going to celebrate christmas or thanksgiving or new years, but I can make my own holidays, build my own family. Maybe make something enjoyable for my child that isn't centered around what you can buy people. Wolfenoot sounds perfect to me
@boyrrito: and @misery: you are welcome to be my online family during these frustrating times. We can celebrate each other instead of colonization and imaginary jolly dudes.

Sounds like you are in need of some lucid dreaming! Lucid dreaming, if you don't know, is the ability to be aware when you are dreaming and change the course of said dream. I do so naturally these days due to my narcolepsy, but there are techniques available to start doing so without weird brain anomalies. One that worked well for me before my narcolepsy symptoms showed up: Do reality checks while you are awake. My dreams never let technology work, so any time I hopped on a computer, or checked the time on my phone, I'd ask myself if I was dreaming. Pretty soon, you'll start doing this new habit in the dream world... and it becomes easier to recognize the absurdity of your dream.... at first, the shock may simply wake you up, but, with time and practice, you can easily influence the direction of the dream.
There are many techniques out there for lucid dreaming, a quick google search can be quite informative on the subject. I don't have bad dreams anymore, I usually just "nope" so hard that they go away. It takes a while to learn and master, but if you keep at it, it is a great tool to have.

I used to play a ton of MUDs, and I'm currently playing at least one oldschool rogelike. I'd love to see mud with a roguelike interface...

@Miss Sandman: I've been doing magic my whole life. There is a big difference between witchcraft and the magic I do. Witchcraft has superstition and rules, as it is a religious practice. I have experimentation and practical experience, as I treat it like a science. I've summoned $3000 under a mattress, so I get a bit cocky and sound like a know it all lol. Magic is neutral, like any other force of nature. There isn't black gravity. IMO If you're hexing to punish someone for a wrongdoing, you're just giving karma a helping hand (if you believe in karma. Im still iffy on that,) steering it in the right direction. Intention rules all. A lot of people do curses without even realizing it and they're fine.

@Miss Sandman: There is no such thing as black magic. Magic is magic, and the person directing it decides weather it is good or not. To me, overthrowing our capitalistic overlords is very good.
