@Wildfire: I'm curious what your mom wants to talk to you about. lol

@Ava: I'm ashamed to say I had to google broccolini. lol! I do love my veggies and squash but I don't often get out of my comfort zone. I cook a lot of bell peppers, carrots, and broccoli.
I am also a person who enjoys bland food and I try my best to pawn dinner duties on my husband. He loves cooking. Whereas, I cook because I don't want to starve. hahaha.
The only problem about the Ikea meatballs is that they're mass-produced, so they're not as good as fresh/handmade.

I feel like making stew.
@Ava: My family makes 3 Swedish dishes over and over again. Crepes, meatballs and Polt. I suppose my favorite is Polt, definitely not a favorite for others. Basically, Polt is just potato dumplings with salted pork in the center. It's not a favorite because it's a very bland food but very filling.
My grandma refers to polt as "poor-mans food." Anyone who has potatoes, flour, pork, and salt can make it.
My last Christmas gathering was mac n' cheese, pot roast, and uhh, I think I made swedish meatballs. I don't think anyone brought veggies. lol
@Wildfire: Your day sounds great. <3 I got my kids done with school by noon today. So that was an accomplishment. However, I burned out a little from that. I took a shower and then got on a phone call with my mom. My sister is a snitch and told my mom that I drink. So I got an ear full about drinking. =3=
I'm a grown adult. omg, I snapped back and said something along the lines of "Well, I drink less now than I did living with you." and she scoffed. I definitely put a log on that fire instead of putting it out. lmao. worth it.
@Wildfire: How's your day going?
@Ava: oh my gosh, that sounds so sweet. It sounds like a cheesecake, but peppermint. I'd try it. I do enjoy sweet things.

My family had more children than they could afford, so the tradition was sort of a food-potluck with whatever cheap meals they could make that could feed a hoard of people. My mom always made Swedish food [which was recipes handed down from my grandparents- I'm in the U.S.]
Now I make Swedish food to feed hoards of people, but it's more for friends that don't have Christmas plans that I invite to come over.

I think not having plans around the holidays is the best way to go about enjoying the season. The stress isn't there to make it perfect.
@Ava: Your morning sounds great! I'm curious about the candy cane pie. I've never seen one.
My family makes the same simple meal every Christmas. It's a tradition, I guess. Now that I'm living on my own and raising my own family, I'm holding up that tradition.
@MoodyB: Oh no! But your avi looks so cozy. Do you have a broken heater or is it just a freakin' cold day?
I'm good, Just trying to be a bit productive.
@MoodyB: Good Morning. How are you today?
I really need to decorate our tree too! lol. It's got one string of lights on it. So at least we have a bit of cheer. But not enough. I need super glue to fix a couple of old ornaments.
The only 'big' chore I want to do today is clean my bathroom.

Turns out my niece stole my nice hair straightener, so I'm going to steal the clothes she left behind. XD
@Wildfire: lol, my thought process with a cow is that I'd have fewer predators too.
So far my morning is good. I'm getting ready to buckle into school time with the kids.
yesterday, I finished up some Santa shopping, so I feel good about that. I just need to wrap things in the near future.
How's your day? being productive?
@Wildfire: Good Morning! Looks like you got up early.
My kids woke me up because the sky was super pretty and I guess I needed to see it too. So I got up and watched the sunrise with them. That was actually a decent way to wake up.
A Cow or a chicken? hmmm.. If I had to choose, probably a cow. I like the idea of not worrying about much and just grazing.
Wildfire, I'm loving your avi! :D
