You can buy it. It's just expensive. Especially since Sai works good for painting-like things so you don't need photoshop.
I've also used Gimp when I first started on stuff years ago cause it's free.

Ah yeah I don't have a tablet so I don't know how to troubleshoot it as well.
I use photoshop more, but want to get more into Sai. I didn't have it before so I never got real into it. But it has some good brushes!

Oh yeah it takes a little while to get use to doing digital art for sure!
As for pen pressure, could be a number of things. I'd check the pressure/pen settings in your application you're using, and if you can't figure it out there, maybe try uninstalling/reinstalling your driver. Assuming your using a tablet on a computer. It is often one of those two things.
