"Of course." She said with a soft smile.

"She... just has no access ot her mana. She will be as a mortal now." She then said after a moment, before sighing.

"I did all I can. She will be in rough shape for a week or so, as repairing that leg too quickly may pose too many questions." She continued, "But at least, there won't be any issues lingering after that week."

"Take care of her... she's going to need a friend. She'll... likely not be too receoptive, though."

'If there is anything that worries you regarding her, at any time, both Uriel and I are available." She said, calmly, kindly.

"All right... thank you... both of you." Aimee said.

With that, Uriel and Emelie excused themselves, and disappeared from the room. Uriel left in a pillar of light, while Emelie calmly walked out of the room and... was gone. Just like that.

"......" Lex was silent, before looking at Aimee.

"Aimee..." he said quietly.

"I..." he stammered.

"...damn it." he cursed.

"I feel like this is my fault." he said.

"I'm her guardian. I should have been able to protect her... save her..."

"She was the one that went out. She's old enough that it shouldn't have been an issue." She continued before sighing.

"Don't blame yourself, Lex. I'm sure she won't blame you. And hey, she's alive. Isn't that what matters?"

"Yes. It really is." he reiterated.

He then sighed, and shook his head.

"Around noon, tomorrow, huh?" he then muttered.

"I'll be there when she wakes." he said.

"I can at least do THAT."

"I'm... probably going to be at work when she wakes." Aimee commented.

"I want to be here, but I don't think my boss will take too kindly to it." She added with a light sigh.

"If you need me, though. Call, of course. And I'll make sure that there's some food here for her for when she wakes." She finished with.

Lex nodded again.

"Right." he said.

"I'll do that." he told her.

-The next day-

Around noon (about 11ish), Lex made his way into Madison's room, and sat down in a chair.

He looked at her sleeping form, and sighed.

"...Madison..." he said quietly.

"I... I'm..." he stammered, before shaking his head.

"...damn it." he just cursed.

Lex wasn't there for long, only about half an hour at most, before MAdison stirred. It took nearly ten minutes for her to wake, but when she did, she woke with a scream and with some panic.

It took him grabbing her by the shoulders and sitting with her before she'd calm down - and that wasn't easy.

She basically did a 180. as well. She want from terrified and ready to bolt, to basically sobbing in his arms. The last she remembered was what had happened, after all. She didn't know she'd made her way home, she didn't know what happened to those that were doing what they were.

The last thing Madison remembered, was hanging a couple feet off of the ground.

"I know." he said.

"You're home." he told her.

"You're home, you're safe, and I'm here." he went on.

She stayed there for about fifteen minutes before she finally pulled back. She met his gaze, her eyes not having the same almost ethereal shine to them that they used to have.

". . . It... it's gone... isn't it?" She asked, her voice rather deadpan.

"I..." She didn't say anything more, not sure what it was that she could say. She was sure that what she had say was enough. What she was referring to was her mana, of course.

"Gone?" Lex asked.

"No, no, no, it's not gone." he told her.

"It's just... um... locked away, I guess." he said.

"Your mana is still inside you, but you cannot access it." he continued.

"But Aimee and I will do everything we can to try and crack it. I promise." he then told her.

"We'll get your mana to be accessible again."

Madison was completely silent before just looking away.

". . . ." She didn't have anything to say regarding it, had no idea what it was that she could say.

She had no idea what it was that she could. She realised that she could survive and continue on, but... she didn' tknow how she could.

She just stayed there, completely silent.

"Maddy, I... I just..." he stammered further, before sighing again.

"Do you want to be left alone?" he asked.

"To.. ponder this, I suppose?" he went on.

He had NO idea what to do here. What to say, anything.

This was something that made his heart hurt. He knew Maddy was hurting as well.

But there was nothing he could do about it right now.

Madison just pulled her knees up, not entirely sure what it was that she could say or think about this.

"I..." She fell silent, just hugging her knees.

"I don't... I don't know..." She admitted.

"Should... I be left alone? I don't know what I'm do?" She continued.

"I ... kinda feel ... like I can't be trusted..."

"What you've always done in the past when life got you down." he told her.

"I know. Easier said than done, and that's the understatement of the century." he said.

"But you're not alone. You have me and Aimee, at the very least."
