"In a moment." Chronos replied.

He then grabbed the top of Cedric's head, lifting him up into the air. After a moment, some blue mana seeped out into his grasp, as the body fell back to the floor.

Once he had the mana, he stepped back.

"There." he said.

"Put that pathetic wretch of a husk out of everyone's misery." he told them.

"What happened?" Chronos asked.

"Fate happened." he said cryptically.

He then bent down and picked up the chain link that had been left at his feet.

"Oh, and here." he told Vicki, flicking it over towards her.

"You're going to want to keep that close." he said ominously, before making his way to the hollow husk of a body that used to be Cedric.

"None of you CAN interfere." Chronos replied.

"Even if you were to try." he added.

He then sighed and used his mana to lift both Vicki's soul and body up off the floor. He hovered them in front of himself for a moment, and then sent them both flying towards the closest wall. The body slammed into the wall first, and the soul was violently pushed into, before time dialated around her in a weird way, and she fell to the floor again... but landed on her feet.

"And there." he said.

Chronos just sighed.

"Not really." he replied.

"But I'll never hear the end of it if I don't." he growled.

"I am the one with dominion over time, ITSELF. I am CHRONOS!" he then declared.

"There." he said to Sydney.

"Happy now?" he asked.

At that moment, the cloaked figure and the hand were revealed to all, and the portal widened, causing Chronos to step out.

"Shoo." he told Gregory, nudging the reaper away.

"Oh, what the hell NOW?" Gregory asked.

"You ask that as though you're owed an explanation." Chronos replied. "I said 'shoo'. Now scram." he told him.

Gregory just sighed and disappeared in a black mist, leaving Chronos looking at the scene.

"Well, this is a right mess, isn't it." he commented.

".....hey." Ryker said.

"Relax, you're in the hospital." he told him.

"Aly and I are here, you're safe." he went on.

"So. I hear you went and pulled a hell of a stunt." he then commented.

"Worried Aly here sick, almost." he continued.

"What happened?"

Ash just laid Vicki's body down, and stifled a sob.

"....right." was all he managed to say.

He then left the room, as Vicki's soul emerged from her body.

The figure then lifted his scythe and started to swing it towards Vicki's soul... only for a light blue portal to suddenly open in thin air, and an arm to come out of it, stopping the blade with a pair of fingers.

"What!?" Gregory exclaimed.

"Death is death." the figure replied.

"And just shut up and let me my job." he told Aedan.

Ash then froze for a moment.

"Ah..." he stammered.

"No..." he whispered.

"I... I sensed the transfer..." he said quietly.

Ash looked ready to break down at that point, but managed to keep it together.

"I..." he stammered.

"Yeah." he said.

"Sure thing, Vicki." he told her, sighing heavily.

"Zip it, zombie." the figure then said to Aedan.

"YOU have no right to talk about such things."

"Vicki!" Ash exclaimed, as he rushed towards her.

As he did, though, Aedan and Sydney saw a dark portal appear out of thin air, and a cloaked figure with a scythe float out of it.

"Well, then." it said.

"You really went and did it." it muttered.

"Impressive. Idiotic, but impressive."

".....shit." Ash cursed, as soon as Vicki did that.

"Just... fuck." he cursed further.

Cedric's body then went limp, but he remained standing, as his soul left his body.

Then, something came out of Vicki's body, and the two of them melded together, forming a single chain link.

".................and it is done." Ash said dejectedly.

Cedric just chuckled again.

"Listen to you." he said.

"Blithering on and on about how the 'power of friendship' will save everything." he said further.

"How you're being SOOOO noble with your sacrifice." he went on, shaking his head.

"If you're going to do it, DO IT!" he then commanded her.

While he was putting up a decent face and attitude, Ashley could tell one thing; he was scared right now.

Ash bit his lip as Vicki said what she did.

"But you don't need to do this!" he said.

"Let... let ME do it!" he insisted.

However, the look in her eyes made it clear that she was NOT going to let him do that.

"....Vicki, are you sure about this...?" he then asked.

"What's going to happen with Mom?"

"........" Ash was silent, before sighing.

"I... don't know." he said.

"I really don't." he muttered.

"Precisely." Cedric responded.

"In the end, it doesn't matter WHICH Fyrane goes berzerk." he said. "As long as one of you gives into the darkness in your heart, then it will all be all right." he reasoned.

"So... by all means. Do the deed." he told Vicki.

"Fulfil your birthright. Be who you are destined to be!"
