Hal nodded and called for some assistance. Within seconds, some others arrived.

"Take Agent Callimachi to a different interrogation room than Agent Gardner." he told them. "And please get Jake to the medical wing for immediate medical attention." he said.

They nodded, and with that, Hal left the area, before making his way to his office. Once there, he tapped his fingers on the desk, before sighing.

"Guess I might as well go the direct route." he said.

With that, he grabbed his phone, and dialled the number for Cassandra's phone.

Hal was silent for a moment, and just sighed.

"Right." he said.

"Rylie, help Jake deal with his pain, and we'll get him to the medical wing." he told her.

"I'll get someone to take Aedan to a room where we can properly restrain her." he continued.

"...and then I have a call to make." he muttered. "A call I'd rather NOT make..."

"A bit." Jake replied.

"See, I need to tell Sharp-" he started to say, before the man himself showed up.

"What the hell's going on here!?" he asked.

"...speak of the devil." Jake muttered.

"Rylie, you tell him what you saw and did, and I'll give him the prior info, yeah?" he suggested to the woman.

"Well, you can... uh..." Jake stammered, before looking at the other two.

"Well, you can take Sierra to an interrogation room, and make sure she remains properly restrained." he told her. "I... would suggest doing the same thing to Aedan, but... to be honest, I'm not sure what her immediate future holds, considering what you just appear to have done." he then commented.

"As for me, personally?" he went on, before sighing.

"I need medical attention." he told her.

"Pretty damn sure both my legs are broken, and it hurts to breathe, so she probably broke a rib or two in me." he informed her. "As well as all the other, less grievous, injuries she dealt to me." he added.

"So if you could either do something about that immediately, get me to the medical wing, or get someone here to take care of that, that'd be peachy." he added with a smile... that had a definite undertone of pain and suffering to it.

"......." Ryker was stunned for a moment. Stunned and silent. However, he returned the hug and held Eke close, gently rubbing his back.

'....when...?' he thought. 'I used to not care about figuring stuff out... I was content to just be swept along in the tide of life...' he went on. '...when did I change to thinking I needed to try and steer everything?' he asked himself mentally.

He then sighed, and shook his head.

"...Eke... you're right." he said.

"Maybe I need to just... stop thinking so hard."

Ryker offered no resistance to Eke, and allowed him to take him inside.

"I know we don't." he said.

"That's part of what concerns me." he told him.

"Look, let's worry about YOU, Eke." he then said.

"You're shivering. You're freezing cold."

"...she had help." Jake replied.

"It seems... Sierra murdered Azazel." he told her, gesturing to Sierra in the corner of the area.

"...but something's very wrong." he went on.

"I sense... drow mana in her." he told her further. "And in Aedan as well." he added.

"...and it feels... well... familiar." he went on.

"It... it almost feels like... Vanessa's."

"....." Jake was silent for a moment.

"Uh... well, I DO seem to be unable to move my legs properly..." he admitted.

"And... you knew the damage being done to me?" he asked.

"....wow. he muttered.

"I didn't think it was THAT bad..." he admitted.

"But yes, pretty sure she was intending to kill me."

"...right." was all Sharp replied with, before the call was ended.

"....Rylie?" Jake addressed the newcomer.

"What the...? What are you...?" he started to ask, before shaking his head.

"How...?" he muttered.

"What are you doing here?" he finally managed to ask.

Jake tried his best to keep his composure, and keep her pinned, but eventually, she overpowered him.

He fell back some, and his eyes widened slightly.

"....no..." he said quietly.

"You, too..." he muttered.

"Both you AND Sierra...?" he said further, before shaking his head.

"Damn it, damn it, damn it." he then cursed, as he tried to get to his feet again to properly keep her at bay.

Jake knew that Aedan would follow wherever Sierra was.

She wasn't safe anywhere. And she had info they needed.

So he did the only thing he could think of, and tackled Aedan to the floor, pinning her.

"Damn it." he cursed.

"This is too much." he said.

"Just stay the fuck down, Aedan." he told the zombie.

Jake was too stunned to properly react, but something happened.

An instinct. A capability he'd almost forgotten he had.

He opened his mouth, the colour in his eyes flared up for a second, and he spat at her.

However, it seemed to come from a hidden sac in his throat, and what came out wasn't saliva. It was a sticky substance meant to irritate and temporarily blind the victim.

Jake DID get in the way, and tackled Aedan to the wall again, causing them both to land in a heap. He then used his legs to violently push her off of him, and tried to pin her to the floor.

"STOP IT!" he yelled. "Stop this NOW!" he told her.

"What good will doing this be!?" he exclaimed.

"What happens after you kill her!? What then!?"

Jake just gritted his teeth and pushed Sierra out of the way, making sure she was well out of the danger zone, but still couldn't try and sneak away.

He then sighed, shook his head, and used the button to remotely unlock the door.

As soon as he did so, Aedan came rushing in, and he prepared for what she was about to do. The first lunge was simple enough to dodge, and he grabbed her arm and threw her against a nearby wall.

"AEDAN! Get ahold of yourself!" he shouted, trying to get her to somehow see reason.
