"...." Dom was silent for a moment, before he laid back down on the couch, getting comfortable.

And it didn't take long, to understate it.

Within 2 minutes of him laying down, his eyes had closed, and she could tell that he was WELL on his way to a night of deep sleep.

However, he opened one eye, and extended a hand towards her.

"Don't let me sleep for TOO long." he told her.

"Please. No longer than necessary." he finished, before fully passing out, his arm flopping down to the floor.

Sydney could tell that Dom felt like shit about leaving without a reason, seemingly, and while she could also tell that he wanted to bear his soul out right now, she could ALSO see that he was about ready to pass out.

After he'd finished eating, of course.

That didn't take very long, and once everything had been consumed, she could see that it was taking everything he had to not pass out on the spot.

"...wow." he mumbled.

"Yeah. You were right when you said I need to get some sleep." he said.

"I feel ready to just keel over right here and now."

The sky above him was darkening, though it didn't look like it was ready to rain.

It had been blue and clear, but clouds were starting to roll in fast. They didn't look like rain clouds, but they WERE obscuring the sun, so much so it looked like it was starting to get dark early.

Eke swore he heard thunder in the distance, but every time he actively listened, all was quiet.

All he could hear was the skittering and scampering of small forest creatures in the forest he sat at the edge of.

"............" both Aly and Ryker were silent, and looked at each other again.

"I'm worried." Aly said.

"I'm concerned, too." Ryker admitted.

"...hm." he then mumbled.

"I wonder if we should follow..." he said.

"I trust Eke, but... can we trust what's been happening?"

"I promised I would tell you." Dom replied.

"And I will." he said.

"But if he shows up here, it might be better for the two of you to hear it at the same time." he reasoned.

"If he doesn't, then I'll just tell you." he reasoned.

"And I'm glad that he's found someone in his life." he then said. "Especially one that helped him be comfortable with what he is and who he is." he went on.

"...well... what he knows, anyway." he then added quietly.

"I'd like to meet HER as well, admittedly, but I should meet my son first." he went on with a small nod.

"Regardless, thank you." he said. "Thank you for taking me in and listening to what I had to say, Sydney." he thanked her sincerely.

Dom just groaned again, and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Well... let me ask this." he said.

"Has he moved on past his 'self-loathing and thinking he's a wretch' phase?" he asked.

"If so, it might be time for him to finally meet me, and learn about what he can do." he told her.

"...given that he's with Marcus' daughter, it's clear he doesn't have an issue with those born with the traits, even if they ARE from a Hunter." he reasoned.

"Maybe he'll be able to finally stomach the truth?" he reasoned with another sigh and a small shrug.

Dom just leaned forward, burying his face in his hands.

"Uuuuuugh..." he groaned.

"Oh, greeeeeeat." he said quietly, shaking his head slightly.

"That... complicates things." he admitted.

"...wait... so the talent DID pass on... but he never asked about it, or questioned it?" he asked.

"Didn't he find his ability strange?"

"Ah, right." Ryker said.

"Look, Eke, you've been sleeping on and off all this time." he told him.

"And a walk?" he asked.

"Where? For how long?" he asked further.

"Seriously, you're not doing so well. Are you SURE that's a wise idea?"

"...........you didn't." Dom muttered.

"Well... I guess that makes sense." he said further.

"...wait..." he mumbled.

"He doesn't know?" he asked.

Sydney nodded in response.

"...did the talent not pass on?" he then asked further.

"....McCormick?" Dom asked in response.

"Wait... McCormick." he repeated.

"I... well, that's not a name you hear very often." he went on, before pausing and thinking for another moment.

"...hold on." he then said, as it came to him.

"Desiree McCormick." he repeated.

"As in... Marcus' daughter?" he asked her.

"....I'd like to meet the boy." Dom said.

"I'm not sure if he'd even give me the time of day, though." he then admitted.

"But I would like to tell you both what happened back then." he said further. "It'd be nice for you both to hear it at the same time." he reasoned.

"Again... not sure he'd even listen to me, though." he sighed further.

"But still... at least you're both alive and well."

"Oh, excellent." Dom replied.

"It's authentic, and tasty, and it fills up my body and soul." he told her.

"Seriously, it's what I needed." he continued.

"...." he was then silent, and sighed quietly.

"It's almost surreal..." he said.

"Seeing you again like this." he told her, looking right into her eyes and smiling softly.

Dom just smiled.

"I'd like that." he said.

"And we WILL live to that point." he told her.

"I promise." he vowed.

"I let you both down once, I won't do it again." he said further.

"I WILL make sure these bastards don't get their way."

Dom thought for a moment, and nodded.

"Ah, yes." he said.

"That name sounds familiar." he told her.

"Works with swords and such." he went on.

"Never seen them, but the name IS familiar." he continued.

"...why?" he then asked, raising an eyebrow.

"They one in the same?"
