Ryker listened to what Eke had to say, before sighing.

"...that explains a lot." he said.

"Well, let me tell you something." he then said. "You're not with your mother any longer." he told him.

"So you can act however you want, wear whatever you want, and do whatever you want." he said further.

"Because, quite frankly, it doesn't matter to me how people dress. You do what you do, and if it helps you sleep at night, then go for it." he reasoned.

"As long as it doesn't hurt anyone." he quickly clarified.

"....." again, the drow was silent, before sighing.

"I suppose." he said.

"I mean, really, all I need is that image right there." he reasoned, as he looked at Jaden, on his knees, despair in his eyes and defeat in his posture.

"I suppose that's enough." he sighed.

"Plus, I know better than to go against an Encrae, even if what they're just making a suggestion." he added, before turning and heading towards the door.

"Besides... my services are required elsewhere in this world." he finished, before he exited the building, still laughing to himself.

Just as he left, Desiree was right up at Jaden, and had her mouth open, the tip of her fangs barely piercing Jaden's skin.

"Wh-wh-what!?" Jaden exclaimed, as he backed away from Desree... until he was stopped by the wall.

"N-no! No!" he pleaded, as Desiree merely approached.

"...." the drow was silent for a moment, before he burst into laughter.

"Ah-HAHAHAHA! HA! HAH!" his laughter rang out.

"Perfect!" he exclaimed.

"Dhampir, you cling to your precious humanity, now watch as it's torn from you! By the one you love, and who claims to love YOU!" he yelled.

"Such sorrow is EXQUISITE!" he proclaimed, as tears started to fall from Jaden's eyes.

"Well... yes..." the drow replied.

"Vampires have a certain... pedigree to them." he said.

"And those like him can water down their reputation." he reasoned, referring to Jaden.

"Why?" he asked.

"I mean, this surely isn't something an Encrae should concern themselves with, right?" he asked further.

"......." Jaden was still silent, unsure as to what was happening right now.

'Syraene, what are you doing...?' Vincent thought, as he watched the scene unfold.

"Of course not." he replied.

"But... but I'm not doing anything to you or your family." he said.

"I'm just minding my own business." he told her.

"Well... minding THEIR business, technically..." he muttered, referring to Jaden and Desiree.

"Regardless, why would you care about something like THIS?" he asked her.

Vincent raised an eyebrow as he heard he confidence in Syraene's tone.

Meanwhile, the drow looked ready to wet his pants.

"E... E... Encrae!?" he exclaimed.

"Wh-wh-what are you doing HERE?" he then asked.

"I mean, surely one such as yourself has other things to do than spend it with someone like me." he reasoned.

"After all, your other daughter is the reason we're even HERE right now." he said further.

The drow was silent as Syraene said what she did about her daughter.

"...excuse me?" he asked.

"She is?" he asked further.

He then narrowed his eyes a little, and stared at her.

"A halfbreed of WHAT?" he asked.

The male looked back at Syraene, and shrugged.

"So I deviate a little." he said.

"I like vampires. They can be so charming." he said further with a smirk.

"Well... REAL vampires, anyway." he went on.

"........" Jaden was silent as he noticed that Syraene was here, and then shook his head, coughing a little... and it sounded rough, as well.

"Halfbreeds really shouldn't exist." the drow then said to Syraene.

"So I'm putting the poor thing out of our misery."

"............." Ryker was silent, before walking towards Eke.

He sat down beside him on the bed, and draped an arm over his shoulders.

"Let it all out, kid." he told her.

'...why?' he then thought.

'Why do I care like this?' he asked himself.

He then just sighed silently, and kept those thoughts to himself.

Vincent nodded in response.

"Please." he said.

"This is hard to watch." he told her.

"Such a despicable act." he then growled, narrowing his eyes.

"Desiree must be in immense emotional pain as well." he said further.

Vincent nodded.

"We'll leave immediately." he said.

With that, the two of them joined hands, and disappeared from where they were, appearing outside an abandoned building. When they looked inside, they saw that Jaden was NOT faring well at all.

But they could tell it was because the drow had been using Desiree to attack him.

"Coward..." Jaden muttered.

"Using Desiree like this." he spat.

The drow just laughed in response.

"Your connections to others make you weak." he replied. "True strength comes from believing ONLY in yourself, and relying on no-one else but YOU." he told him.

"You're a disgrace to your proud vampiric kin." he then declared.

"They'll thank me for doing them a favour." he snickered.

"Yes." Vincent replied.

He then took a small breath, and explained all that he knew. Which, granted, wasn't much... but it was still enough to make things very concerning.

"We can follow my mana tracker." he told her.

"I don't know just how sinister this is, but I think we can both agree that it's not good." he said.

"I'm strong, but I think it's going to take the strength of another drow to free Desiree... and I'm pretty sure your daughter has her hands full right now." he added, referring to Ashley, and how she seemed to be babysitting Chris.

"Actually, showing up may be best." Vincent replied.

"I'll be at home, in the kitchen." he told her.

"Please send her ASAP." he went on, as Kalin went down to the den.

Sure enough, she found Syraene there... but what she was doing was anyone's guess. Elves were mysterious creatures, drows moreso than other elves.

"Sorry to suddenly bother you like this." he then apologized.

"But I fear this qualifies as an emergency."

"You don't care, huh?" Ryker asked.

"Suuuuuure." he said, rolling his eyes.

"And they don't stare at me, really." he then went on. "I just hate it when people stare. It shows they're weak-minded and have to look at every little thing." he growled.

"People are stupid." he then muttered.

"Anyway, feel free to do whatever you like." he told Eke.
