Francis raised an eyebrow for a moment, before smirking.

"Simple." he said.

"It's been a very long time since we've actually spent any quality time together." he told her, slipping forward, his hands draping over her chest.

"Father and daughter time." he went on.

"What say we... make up for lost time?" he suggested.

Ryker raised an eyebrow as Eke said what he did, and offered him said treat.

"...eh, sure." he muttered, sitting up.

"And escaping someone?" he asked him.

"Why? And who?' he asked further, looking around.

"You musta been desperate to get away, to come in THESE cursed woods." he muttered, looking at the glowing eyes that seemed to surround them.

"...we really do." Vincent agreed.

"If you wish to help, it'd be greatly appreciated." he told her.

Unbeknownst to her, someone was watching from the foliage that was close to her. Watching her intently... concentrating on her, almost.

".......yes..." he mumbled, licking his lips.

He then took a small breath, and slowly made his way towards her, though his gait was that of a casual stroll.

When he was right behind her, he placed his hands on her shoulders.

"...hello again, Elizabeth." he said in her ear.

The man looked at the extended hand, seeming to just stare at it.

"..." he was silent for a moment, before sighing and draping his other arm over him, grabbing the hand.

"Ryker." he said, introducing himself.

"The hell are you doing in these woods, anyway?" he asked. "These woods are no place for people." he commented.

"Normally people come here to die to the wildlife." he then muttered.

"Well, not any longer, it isn't." Vincent replied.

"Now it has a use." he said.

"At any rate, I need to get to work, and I need to do it quickly." he went on.

"What about you?" he then asked Syraene.

"What will you do from here? Where will you go?" he inquired.

"........." the young man was silent as the boy asked his question.

"Laying here." he then responded, not looking over.

"Considering sleep." he went on.

"Or whatever comes closest." he mumbled further. He then paused for a moment, before his eyes shifted in the direction of the newcomer.

"You shouldn't talk to strangers." he told him.

"For all you know, I could plan to hurt you." he said further, before looking back up towards the canopy.

The sun was shining high up in the sky... not that it really penetrated down to the forest floor through the thick canopy of leaves and branches above his head. Small rays of sunshine pierced through holes in the treetop cover, and small meadows seemed like havens of light in the darkness of the forest.

Not that he cared much. He was just continuing to move forward, his steps heavy, his posture sloppy and droopy. His dull clothes matched his grey eyes, and almost caused him to blend in with the shadows.

Several pairs of eyes were glowing as they stared at him from the darkness, but either he didn't notice, or didn't care.

Instead, he found a large rock, and climbed up on it.

"Guess this is as good a place as any." he mumbled, sprawling out on it.

Vincent was silent for a moment, as he looked around.

"Ah!" he exclaimed, before making his way to a cabinet, withdrawing a small box with a few jewels on it, and bringing it over. When he opened it, she saw it was empty, except for an exquisite satin and silk lining.

"This used to house 'The Ring of 3 Wishes'." he told her, referencing an old and forgotten artefact.

"However, even though the ring was destroyed completely, I couldn't bring myself to throw out such a nice box." he reasoned.

"........" Vincent was silent, and then nodded.

"Yes." he said.

"You're right." he agreed.

"I need to get to work on that." he said further, getting up from his desk.

"Hm." he mumbled, scratching at his chin slightly.

"Yes... I should bring out the big guns in terms of wards and barriers." he said.
