"Bah!" the man exclaimed.

"Age is a meaningless number in the art world!" he declared.

"Firstly, I would love to purchase what you have just finished." he told her.

"I know talent when I see it." he went on.

"Would $750 be a fair price?" he then asked her.

The man was silent as he heard that.

"Really?" he asked, looking genuinely shocked.

"With such talent, you're not a known name?" he asked further, thinking about it.

"Hmmm, I see, I see..." he then mumbled, thinking hard.

"Tell me." he said, pausing for a moment.

"Are you interested in having your name know, and selling your work?" he asked her.

Once it seemed she was done, the man spoke.

"Remarkable." he said.

"A perfect recreation." he commented, looking between the painting, and what she had painted.

"Tell me, what's your name?" he asked.

"And when did you enter the art community?" he asked further, seeming to think Casey was some sort of established artist, already.

Lindsay accepted the letter, and smiled.

"Heh... Harvard." he said.

"She truly IS the master of her own future now." he commented.

After some time of her painting, she caught something out of the corner of her eye.

Someone was watching her paint.

It was a male she didn't know, but he seemed to be VERY interested in her painting. Or maybe it was her.

Either way, he wasn't moving, but WAS studying something intently.

"I'll be there to support you every step of the way." Lindsay told her.

"Whenever you need anything, you can always come to me." he said.

"This is your home." he went on.

"No matter what, you can always come back here." he assured her.

"But... congratulations." he then said.

"Looks like your future's in your control."

"......." Lindsay was silent, before sighing and smirking as well.

"I suppose so." he said.

"But don't push yourself TOO hard." he told her.

"Remember, I'm starting to make a good living with my career." he reminded her. "I'll be able to afford your last year if need be." he assured her further.

"Just... don't work yourself to pieces."

What she found inside was... almost what she'd been expecting.

She discovered that she HAD been accepted into Harvard.

And that she WAS getting a scholarship.

However she saw it wasn't a FULL scholarship.

She read further, and found that they would cover pretty much all her expenses... until her last year.

"....well, it was a series of unfortunate events, as well as some violent mana." Lindsay responded.

"I'll tell you in more detail when I get back." he said.

-Some time later-

Kalin was out of the hospital, and life had returned to normal for her... and it was getting close to the end of the semester... with still no word from Harvard.

However, as Kalin was working on another assignment, she heard Lindsay call to her.

"Kalin! Mail!" he announced.

"From Harvard!"

Lindsay decided to remain silent for a moment.

It seemed that Casey had been right. Kalin neither required nor wanted, more information about her sister. And odds are that any further information he gave would be pointless.

So he merely sighed quietly.

"I shall." he told her.

"...I'm so glad you're all right." he then added.

"Well, as you said, we can only hope." Lindsay responded.

"And there's still time after all." he assured her.

"Oh, and the other thing." he then said.

"Seems that this was a serendipitous trip to the hospital." he told her.

"Your sister was here recovering as well." he informed her further.

"And, while she left, stating you would not want to see her, she wishes you a speedy recovery, and was happy to hear you're expected to have a full and complete one."

"Indeed you shall." Lindsay agreed.

"Oh, that reminds me." he said.

"Well... all right, yeah, it reminds me of one thing, and I have another thing to say, off-topic." he admitted.

"First, the relevant one." he said further.

"You've been getting mail from a lot of universities." he commented. "Which one are you going to?" he asked her.

"Homework?" Lindsay asked.

"Ah, yes, you were assigned a research project and you wanted to get a lot of that done over break." he remembered.

"Sure." he said.

"I'll bring you whatever you need." he told her.

"There any other work you want to do while here, just the project, or leave that until you're back?" he then asked.

The doctor laughed lightly in response.

"Indeed." he said.

"He's been waiting here the entire time." he told her.

"I'll go get him." he finished.

With that, he left. And about 45 seconds later, Lindsay came in.

"My, my." he said.

"You're certainly looking well." he commented.

"Good, good." the doctor replied.

"And it seems that all your tests have come back negative, so you'll be all right." he told her.

"As is stands, you have a mild concussion, and you'll be healing some broken bones for a few weeks." he then said. "But otherwise, you're just fine." he confirmed.

"But I would like to keep you overnight, at least. Just to make sure." he then added.

"Feeling up for a visitor, by chance?" he asked.
