One of them, the male of the two, narrowed his eyes.

"Something simple." he said.

"You need to go away." he told her.

"And I mean disappear." he said further.

"See... you cause a LOT of trouble." he growled.

"And the way WE see it... unless something is done NOW... it will continue to happen."

"I hear you." Rene replied.

"You like Chinese food?" he asked.

"There's some in the fridge." he told her.

"Feel free to grab some and nuke it in the microwave." he said further.

"It needs to get eaten soon, anyway." he reasoned.

Rene just smiled when she said what she did.

"Cool." he replied.

"You want something to nibble on, or drink?" he asked.

"I grabbed some pastries that should be eaten in the next couple of days." he told her, gesturing to the box beside him.

"And feel free to have anything to drink from the fridge. Just don't touch the water bottles with the green labels." he said further.

"Those are mine."

She found Rene at the kitchen table, looking over some papers with various information on them. It all looked medical, and there was a lot she didn't understand.

"Oh, hey." Rene said when he noticed she was there.

"Sorry if the clothes don't fit you perfectly." he apologized.

"All I had that was close to your size was a bunch of my cousin's clothing when she lived with me for a bit." he told her.

"They all right, though?" he asked.

Rene, meanwhile, had placed the box of clothing in Erica's room, and was silent for a moment, before he perked up.

"....hm?" he mumbled.

"...blood...?" he asked, as he narrowed his eyes and appeared to sniff the air.

"..........." there was another drawn-out silence from him, before he then sighed.

"Doesn't... seem like too much..." he muttered.

"Hmph." he then grunted, before starting to unpack the clothes. He then grabbed something, and made his way to the door, knocking on it.

"I'm going to leave some sleep pants and a sleep shirt for you at the door!" he called in.

Rene hadn't gotten very far when he felt the air change.

"....what...?" he muttered.

"What's this...?" he asked.

"Something's... different. But I can't place WHAT. Or HOW. Or ANYTHING." he went on, looking around, and then looking back to the bathroom.

"...." he was silent, before shaking his head.

"Get the clothes first." he reminded himself, before going to find the box.
Posted in Emotional Baggage Posted 7 years ago
Rene nodded.

"Of course." he replied.

He then left the room, and shut the door behind him.

When he did, he thought for a moment.

'Hmm... she's going to need clothes...' he thought.

'Wait... I wonder if she's the same size as...?' he asked himself, before going to check something. He still had a bunch of his cousin's clothing in a box, so he was going to let her try them on, to see if they fit.

Rene just nodded.

"You're welcome." he said, pocketing the money.

"Come on." he told her, as they made their way to the bathroom.

Once inside, he put some towels on the counter in the room, and a bathrobe that was too big, but it would cover her.

"I'll wash your clothes after you go to bed." he told her.

"Feel free to use any of the shampoo or conditioner or bodywash or whatever."

"Negligible." Rene replied.

"......" he was then silent, before sighing.

"But you won't accept that." he said.

"It cost me 7 and change for the wrappings." he told her.

"But I'll accept just the 7."

"......." Rene was silent, before smacking his forehead.

"That's right!" he said.

"I did!" he told her.

"One second." he said further, before disappearing back downstairs. After about 30 seconds, he returned with a box of fresh cloth for her to wrap her arm in.

"Thought I put it in the same bag as the cat stuff." he commented.

"Guess I didn't."
Posted in Emotional Baggage Posted 7 years ago
Rene smiled as he heard what she said, and drew the comparison to his cousin.

"You're welcome." he told her, as the cat jumped down towards the food, and started to eat.

"Ah, yes." he then said.

"Come on." he told her.

"Methinks you need a shower." he commented.

"You got it." Rene replied.

After about 10 minutes, and Erica seeing that no funny business had occurred, they had the lock installed.

"And done." Rene said, tugging on it with a fair amount of force.

"If you like, we can test it." he told her, stepping out of the room.

"Shut the door and lock it." he said.

When she did, she heard him attempt to get in, using obvious force at times... and it did not budge.

"Looks like we did it!" he called inside.
Posted in Emotional Baggage Posted 7 years ago
She was back before Rene had even started. He was actually looking at it, and examining it.

"Right..." he said.

"Guess I have to install it THIS way so it locks from the inside..." he mumbled, before putting it up and making some markings with a pencil.

"Wanna help?" he asked Erica.

"Gonna need you to keep this lock steady while I install it." he told her.

Just as she said that, Rene returned with his tools.

"Bathroom's down the hall and to the left." he told her.

"You can fill the water bowl there." he said.

"While you do that, I'll set up this lock." he went on, kneeling down and taking it from her.

"All right, let's secure this room." he said with a light chuckle.
