As she popped her painkiller, she was greeted by her father.
"Welcome back." he said.
"I heard there was a bit of an... incident... with your brother." he commented.
"And that you were at Rene's." he went on.
"You all right?" he asked her.

Sure enough, shortly after she'd started her shower, Darrel had looked in the general direction of the bathroom she had gone to.
"Hm." he muttered.
"Guess she's back." he said.
He then finished, cleaning her phone, making sure it was spotless, and that no traces of blood or dirt or dust remained, before putting the solution away. He then threw the disposable cloth in the nearby garbage, and sighed.
"....Samantha's blood..." he mumbled.
"It was... divine." he said to himself.

"Yeah, I noticed." Rene replied.
"You do smell of sweat." he chuckled.
"But those runs are really doing you good." he told her.
"You're pretty damn healthy and fit." he said.
"Regardless, you head on home." he went on.
"See you later." he finished with a small smile.

"That is a good question." Lindsay replied, folding his hands over his chest.
"One I have no idea the answer to." he said.
"But we should get to the bottom of this and find out ASAP." he went on.
-
Rene just smiled and nodded.
"No prob." he told her.
"Wasn't really much of anything." he said further.
"Just be careful with those, hear?" he then warned her, in reference to the painkillers.
"Take ONE at first. And after 15 minutes, if there's no change, take another. But try not to take more than two."

Darrel just sighed.
"I'm fine." he said.
"I feel fine, and... well, yeah. I'm not thirsty any longer." he told her.
"All right." Lindsay replied.
"Go to it." he told him.
"The cleaning solution should be in the desk in the living room, as well as the cloth." he said.
"Right." Darrel responded, before leaving to go do what he said he would.

"Indeed." Lindsay said.
"So this is quite the development." he commented.
"We'll need to have her scanned in the near future." he went on.
"See just how much she DOES take after me." he reasoned further.
"Oh. All right." Darrel responded.
"...I think I'll go clean her phone, now." he then told them, which confused Lindsay a bit.
"Blood?" he asked.
"Yeah." Darrel replied.

Lindsay just nodded.
"Very well." he said.
"We'll let her seek him out and deal with him." he told her.
"And then I must speak with her." he said further.
"Oh?" Darrel asked.
"Yes, this news on the properties of her blood is... well... news to us." Lindsay responded.
"Very well." he said.

"..............I see." Lindsay replied.
"Right then!" he said.
"Start looking?" he asked Casey.
"Check under all the beds and couches?" he asked her.
"Or just bribe Kitt to sniff him out again?" he asked further.

"...oh..." Darrel said.
"I see..." he mumbled.
"...speaking of which..." Lindsay then said.
"Where IS she?" he asked, looking around.
"You two came back from your run not too long ago." he commented.
"Is she still showering, or something?" he asked further.

"I..." Darrel stammered.
"I... I... I..." he stuttered further.
"I drank... Samantha's blood!?" he exclaimed.
"So?" Lindsay replied.
"Samantha actually asked us to prepare a couple of bags of her blood for you." he told him.
"Wait... she... she did?" Darrel asked.
"Mmhmm." Lindsay replied.
"So you haven't slighted her in any way."

".....really." Lindsay replied.
"That's... fascinating." he said.
"So... that would mean..." he went on, trailing off a bit and thinking about it.
Darrel, meanwhile, had frozen in place.
And he looked utterly horrified.

Lindsay got up and made his way over towards the two of them.
"Eh?" he said.
"...." Darrel was silent for a moment, before sighing. He then parroted what he said to Casey, to Lindsay.
"Huh." Lindsay muttered.
"Well, that DOES make sense." he said.
"Jaden's had my blood before, and he's had the same reaction and such." he told Casey.
"What's so note-worthy here?" he asked her.
"Eh?" he said.

"......." Darrel was silent for a moment, before he nodded.
"Okay." he replied.
"By the way, Samantha's at her uncle Rene's." he told her.
"She hurt her head, and was bleeding, so she went to see him." he said further.
"She told me to tell you, so... yeah."

"Not at all." Darrel replied.
"Ash's has a... heavier... taste." he told her. "Like, the darkness in it makes it a heady taste, and it tends to have a bit of weight in the stomach." he said further.
"Plus, the Salamander in him gives it a unique tang." he went on.
"Lindsay's is completely different." he went on.
"The absence of the darkness makes it lighter, and the phoenix element adds SO much." he continued. "It gives it a nice airy feel, and the nature of phoenix mana, being about rebirth and all that... well... it gives the blood a bit of a rejuvenating effect." he told her further.
"I feel full of energy because of it." he finished... and she could see that he wasn't lying. He did seem to have a LOT more energy and spirit suddenly.
