"That's what I'm looking for." Darrell replied.

"Eat the leftover sushi before it goes bad." Jaden said.

"....but I don't want it." Darrell muttered.

"Then we'll give it to Casey." Jaden reasoned.

"Desiree, can you think of something our son can snack on?" he then asked his wife.

Darrell paused for a moment when she said that.

"I am?" he asked.

"You are." Jaden replied, the blonde-haired vampire stepping into the room.

"It's convenient, and you're welcome there." he reasoned.

"Oh. Okay then." Darrell replied.

"......yes..." Darrell admitted.

"But I... hide. A lot." he told her.

"I try to be as low-key as possible." he said.

"So... I... yeah... hide from people. From the mobs. And... yeah..." he mumbled further.

"............hm." he finished, before looking away.

"........." Darrel was silent as he heard what his mother had to say.

"Was fine." he said.

"Spent most of it running from mobs." he told her.

"Met a friend." he went on.

"...RE-met... a friend...?" he then mumbled confusedly.

"Got reacquainted with Samantha." he then said, cutting to the chase.

"Okay." he replied.

At the end of the day, he went home.

He went to the building they lived in, went to one of the higher floors, went to the door to the suite they lived in, and then went inside.

"Mom. Dad. I'm home." he said as he stepped inside.

He then went to the fridge to see if there was any food.

Darrell was silent for a moment, scratching at his chin.

"Hmmm." he mumbled.

"Yeah, that IS a sparse subject." he admitted.

"However, I DO know of about 3 or 4 books here that cover the subject quite well." he told her.

"Come on." he said, as he started to walk.

"They're kind of hidden away, so the younger ones don't accidentally find them and get potentially scarred."

"....hm." Darrell muttered.

"Well... want help?" he asked.

"I spend... like... a LOT of time here." he told her.

"Mostly hiding, but that gets boring, so I took to reading a lot of the books here." he went on. "When I'm not hiding in other places, anyway." he then mumbled.

"Anyway, what's your report on?" he asked.

"Maybe I can find or remember some good books about it?"

"Heh." Darrell chuckled.

"Thanks." he said.

"And... well, for your sake, then, I hope you don't become a cat." he told her.

"Just because... well, you don't want to." he reasoned.

"So..." he then said.

"What are you doing here?" he asked.

"Got work to do on a project?"

Darrell shook his head.

"No, nothing serious." he said.

"Just... everyone wants to meet my Dad. Or my Mom." he told her.

"So it's a hassle when they try and get to them through me, or think that if they act like my friends, then they'll see them, or whatever." he sighed.

"It gets lonely sometimes..." he then admitted quietly.

Darrell just sighed a little, and smiled.

"I've been... all right." he said.

"Life's been kinda hectic, but things are okay." he went on.

"What about you?" he asked.

"How have you and your brother been?"

"Uh... well..." Darrell stammered.

"See... I make it a point to know how to avoid people." he said.

"They just won't leave me alone." he sighed.

"So... I've learned where to hide, how to hide, and... yeah." he went on.

"But... as you've seen, it's not perfect." he then lamented.

Darrell froze again.

".......wait...." he muttered.

"Wait, wait, wait... Sammy?" he asked.

"I... woah." he said, looking her over.

"You... you look really different." he commented.

"I didn't recognize you."

His eyes widened when she said all she did.

"Ah... I..." he stammered.

"I mean... well..." he stuttered further.

'Okay... this is scary...' he thought.

"Y... yeah..." he said.

"I DO have my hair dyed..." he admitted.

'Should I have taken my chances with that mob?' he wondered, as he took an unconscious step back.

The boy was silent, but jumped a little when she guessed at the celebrity kid status.

"............mm." he mumbled.

"Yeah." he said.

"I am." he told her.

"Both my parents are famous magicians." he went on.

"Jaden Sherwood and Desiree McCormick." he said quietly.
