Darrel was silent for a moment, and sighed.

"Yeah." he said.

"It comes in bursts." he told her.

"Frequent bursts, but still." he went on.

"Usually my bursts of running come after I hear something like 'OMG IT'S HIM!', or GUYS, IT'S DARREL MCCORMICK!'..." he then muttered, shaking his head.

"Why?" he asked.

Darrel looked over at Evan, and then at Casey.

"Okay." he replied.

Then, as Casey made her way towards her son, Darrel jumped into the pool.

He was submerged for about 10 seconds, before he breached the surface.

"Ahhhh, feels good." he said.

"Refreshing!"

Evan just sniffled again, and nodded.

He then made his way over towards the cooler that was off to the side, and started to dig for a proper-sized ice cube.

As he did so, Darrel came out of the house, wearing black and red swim trunks, and a grey towel.

Sammy noticed him, and saw that, while his upper body was pretty standard for his age, maybe a tiny bit more defined than normal... his legs looked like they had some serious muscle on them.

"Hey." he said to Casey and Sammy when he was close enough.

Evan sniffled and hiccuped a couple of times, before shaking his head.

"N-no." he said.

"They don't." he told her.

"But my mouth does!" he whined further.

"My mouth and my cheek!" he exclaimed.

Sure enough, about 3 seconds later, she heard him.

"Mooooooom!" he cried.

"Sammy kicked me!" he said.

"She kicked me and hurt me and my mouth hurts and-and-and-" he whined, as he continued to cry.

He then got away from Sammy, and ran to his mother... still crying.

"All right." Darrell replied.

"I'll go and put my stuff in the room, and get changed as well." he told her.

"Thank you again for letting me stay here." he then said courteously.

With that, he made his way into the house, as Casey heard Evan and Sammy splash about in the pool.

Darrel looked at the woman, her feline ears sticking out from underneath her hair, and her tail hanging out from above her jeans. He smiled as she greeted him, and nodded.

"Thank you." he replied.

"That sounds like a good idea." he told her.

"I assume to change in one of the bathrooms inside." he then said further, before pausing.

"And just out of curiosity, what room will I be staying in?" he asked her.

Darrel sighed as he was lightly pushed to the portal. He looked back at his parents, gave them a wave, and then stepped through the portal, with Jaden closing it afterwards.

"All right." he said to Desiree.

"Grit the teeth, buckle down, and let's get moving." he told her.

Meanwhile, the portal closed behind Darrell, and he sighed.

'Right.' he thought, as he looked around to see if anyone was there to greet him.

Darrell just sighed as he put his duffel bag over his shoulder, and grabbed the plastic bag that had the sushi and some of the cookies in it.

"Yeah." he replied.

"I'm fine." he said.

"Right..." Jaden muttered.

"They're expecting you." he told his son, forming a portal on the closest wall.

Darrell nodded, before approaching his father, giving him a hug, and then doing the same to his Mom.

"See you later." he said to them.

"We will." Jaden responded.

"I don't think failure is an option here." he sighed.

"So we really have no choice but to make a difference." he reasoned.

"Regardless, let's just take this one step at a time." he told her further, before heading to the cupboards and looking through them.

".....hm." he mumbled.

"Yeah, we just need to worry about the sushi and the cookies."

"Yeah, I know." Jaden replied.

"He gets it from you." he told her.

"Anyway, I'm glad Casey and them agreed to board Darrell for the week." he said.

"Considering a week is a decent length of time." he went on.

"...but I'm worried about Mom." he admitted.

"This is some serious shit happening at the Triad."

"..." Jaden was silent for a moment, before shuddering.

"No." he replied.

"He wouldn't." he said.

"Maybe this will help him." he went on.

"Evan's pretty outgoing... maybe it'll rub off." he guessed.

"And Sammy might help him get a little more active or something." he added with a small shrug.

"Of course." Jaden said.

"So eat quick, and pack your stuff." he told Darrell.

"Right." Darrell replied, before going to pack his stuff first.

Jaden was silent for a moment, and sighed.

"He really doesn't like his 'popularity', does he?" he asked Desiree.

"All right." Darrell replied.

"I'll have some." he said.

"We'll take whatever's left." Jaden commented.

He then sighed, and shook his head.

"Sorry we gotta disappear for a week." he then apologized.

"It's fine." Darrell replied.
