Zeke blinked a couple of times.

"That's..." he muttered.

"Know what, I shouldn't be surprised." he grumbled.

"There's NO low that woman won't stoop to." he mumbled further.

He then paused for a moment, and narrowed his eyes.

"...and I think I know what he meant when he said I was your salvation, as... overly dramatic at that sounded..." he went on.

"I can almost feel something watching us... but it's staying away..." he continued.

"Yeah, might be best if you stick close to me. For now, anyway." he reasoned.

"Sorry." Zeke suddenly said.

"I can't turn it off." he told her.

"But I don't mean to be making you uncomfortable." he went on.

"...." he was then silent for a moment, and sighed.

"I'm not going to try and make small chit-chat though." he went on.

"I'll just say that it's very strange for there to be refugees from Vanessa." he commented.

"She throw you both out or something?" he asked.

Zeke nodded.

"She is." he confirmed.

"Come on." he told Ayla, as the two of them started to walk off, with Ayla looking back at Chris, and Chris waving slightly.

He then sighed, and looked at Mira.

"Hurry." he said.

"Get me to a cell and lock me in." he told her.

"...the sooner, the better." he muttered, feeling the clawing in his mind once more.

As Ayla did what she did, Chris seemed to visibly calm down.

"..." Zeke was silent as he saw this, before sighing.

"I'm hanging around until Mira gets here." he told her.

"Seems whatever's SHE'S doing is helping him out... and the sooner we get him to a cell, the better. But the safer the better, as well." he reasoned.

"So when Mira gets here, I'll take this one to see Agent Sharp." he continued, gesturing to Ayla.

And sure enough, Zeke was right about Alya helping Chris.

It wasn't much, but she was keeping it at bay slightly. Enough for Chris to maintain his sense of self, AND his sanity.

Chris was silent, and just slightly stepped in her way.

In case she tried to run, he wanted to stop her.

This was for her own good.

However, at that point, he then grasped at his head.

"Agh!" he yelled out.

"What is it!?" Zeke exclaimed.

"Take... take Ayla to your boss." Chris responded.

"And keep close to her! You're her salvation right now!" he added.

"And you...?" Zeke asked.

"Take me to a secure holding cell!" Chris replied frantically. "Lock me up and make sure I don't escape!" was the response Chris gave.

"...should Mira take him, or someone else?" Zeke asked the guard there.

"....crap, crap, crap..." Chris muttered.

"Not good, this isn't good..." he went on.

"Time is of the essence, and it's of it NOW." he continued, growing more and more panicked.

It was at that point, they felt a very... imposing and judgemental presence close to them.

And it was revealed to be Zeke, stepping through the door.

"Was nearby when I got a ping to check here." he commented.

"....what's going on here...?" he asked, looking at Chris and Ayla.

There was silence on the other side for a moment.

"....asylum from Encrae?" he asked.

Chris then cleared his throat.

"We can help stop the mystery injuries that have been most likely plaguing your agents." he said, loud enough for Hal to hear.

"Just talk to the girl. Do whatever else you want with ME." he added.

"I'll send someone to get them." Hal told the guard there.

The phone rang for barely a second, before it was answered.

"Yes?" the one on the other end answered.

"I got the buzzer sound earlier." he told her.

"What's going on?" he asked.

"An emergency?" he asked further.

Of all times for this to happen, it had to happen while Hazel was in the middle of a breakdown, and needed comforting.

However, he couldn't neglect his job or responsibilities, either.

Chris just pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Ngh." he grunted.

"All right, let's try and make this so you understand." he said.

"I'm willing to bet that some of the people here are being inflicted with nasty wounds, probably life-threatening, and some have had seeming attacks on their minds." he told her.

"The centre of it all. The crux, the focal point of it all can be traced to what has attached itself to Ayla." he went on.

"It has split from her temporarily, but will be back soon, and she does not deserve that." he continued.

"We need to make it so that they cannot take her over again."

"..........." the male was silent as he witnessed this.

"....ah-ha." he said.

"Admittedly, not what I was expecting." he muttered.

He then sighed, and shook his head.

"SHE needs help." he told her, gesturing to the female he'd come in with.

".........please?" he then asked quietly.

He was quiet as well, looking around too.

"No..." he said.

"Wait." he told her.

"I can sense... something...?" he mumbled confusedly.

He then cleared his throat.

"Hello?" he announced.

"Is anyone here?" he asked.

Hal said nothing more.

He just continued to hold her close.

He gently rubbed her back, and tried to reassure her.

"...it's okay." he whispered.

"You're not in trouble." he assured her.

"And you're safe."

Hal immediately sprang into action.

He quickly made his way over towards her and held her.

Not by the shoulders or anything, he hugged her.

He held her close and didn't let go.

"There's no need to apologise." he told her.

"It's all right." he said.

"Thank you for telling me what you did." he went on.

"It helped me. It really did."

Again, Hal was silent.

"That's concerning." he said.

"And alarming." he went on.

"We're dealing with something...otherworldly..." he continued.

"Is there anything you think we can do?" he asked.

"At ALL?"
