"....." Jake was honestly not sure how to respond to that.

"I..." he stammered.

"Anya..." he said quietly.

"You'll recover. I promise." he told her.

"Angela told me so." he continued.

He then got a little closer, and gently placed a hand on her knee.

"I'm here for you." he said further.

"I'll do whatever I can to help."

"......" Jake was silent.

He wanted to rush over to her and hug her. Hold her close.

But he was warned that Anya was still delicate right now. Her wounds would still be very sore.

So he resisted that urge, and slowly made his way over, sitting down on the edge of the bed that she was in.

"...yeah, it's me." he said.

"Are you okay?" he asked her.

"How are you doing?"

"Yeah." he replied.

"I'm good." he said.

"Let's go." he told her.

She then led him to the rood where Anya was, and gestured for him to enter.

He nodded and slowly opened the door.

"Anya...?" he said quietly, peering his head in.

He was almost scared of what he might see... what Anya's condition would be...

Jake was silent and accepted the 'cookie'.

He ate it, making sure to chew properly and swallow.

And after about 10 seconds, he almost seemed to fall over, but steadied himself against a wall.

"....woah." he mumbled.

"That is a rush." he said.

"All right, feeling A LOT better now." he told her.

And she could tell. He seemed more... himself.

"Sorry about being in that state." he apologised.

"..." Jake was silent for a moment.

"I..." he stammered.

"No." he said.

"I didn't." he admitted quietly.

"Anya... she's one of the few women I've loved with all my reptilian heart." he told her.

"And even among those very few, she's something special." he went on.

"If something were to happen to her..." he continued, trailing off a little.

"...not sure I'd be able to come back from it..."

".....no." Jake replied.

"Well... not really." he muttered.

"I DO have alcohol in my system." he admitted.

"But I'm not DRUNK." he told her.

"...I was a bit ago." he then mumbled.

"Still kinda feeling it..." he admitted further.

"Because, yeah... Izzy has some strong shit." he agreed.

"....." the intern nodded in response.

"Yes, Ma'am." he said, leaving the two women to converse, if need be.

After a few minutes, Jake stepped into the medical wing, and cleared his throat a little.

"...." he was silent, before sighing, and sitting down.

He knew Angela would be told he was here.

So he decided it best to just... wait.

He was sure that would be best, as he didn't want to potentially get in someone's way... as much as he wanted to just rush to Anya and see her again.

Mere moments later, one of the interns working there came rushing in.

"Miss Edwards, are you all right!?" they asked.

They then looked and saw that Anya was awake.

"Oh!" the said.

"Should I notify Jake and Azazel?" they asked her.

"Or... well, Jake, at least?" he asked further.

"He's... not been doing well ever since she was brought here." he admitted, gesturing to Anya.

Zeke nodded in response.

"No problem." he said.

"..." he was then silent, before shaking his head.

"Anyway, I gotta go." he told her.

"I have some things I wanna ask Mom and Dad about." he said further.

"Like... I suppose ethical things." he went on.

"Regardless, I won't hold you up any longer."

Bast nodded in response.

"You got it." he replied.

Meanwhile, Zeke had made his way back to the Unit, and to Angela.

"Got it." he told her as he approached.

"Hopefully this is enough." he said further.

"Where do you want me to put it?" he then inquired.

Sebastian just sighed.

"I don't know." he said.

"Odds are she won't like it at first, but after I explain it, she might." he told her.

"Might still be uncomfortable with it, though." he admitted.

"All we can do is wait and see." he then muttered.

"And oh?" he asked.

"I admit, that seems interesting, getting more in touch with the side of me that I normally have to hide." he admitted to her.

Jerren was silent as Lilim commanded him, and tried to say something nasty in response.

"Yes, Mistress." was all that came out, though.

"Ah, good. Good."{/b] Sebastian said.

[b]"Hmmm..." he mumbled.

"Name, name, name..." he repeated, mulling some things over in his mind.

"Might I ask what his deal is... or was?" he then asked his mother.

She gave him a quick rundown, which caused her son to look at the demon.

"...I'm thinking its name is either 'Trash', 'Scum', or 'Bitch' now."

Sebastian was silent for a moment, looking between Jerren and his mother.

"Ah... right." he said.

He still looked to be unsure about this, however, he was still half-demon.

And she saw the flicker in his eyes.

"...brilliant." he said with a smirk.

"This will make things... SO much easier..." he went on.

"But, uh... he DOES kind of... stand out..." he then told her.

"I don't think I'll be able to send him out for errands and such as he is." he commented further.

"....right then." he replied.

About 2 minutes later, her son stepped into the den, with Jerren following.

"...a demon?" he asked.

"I mean, is he the present you referred to?" he asked further.

"I have a name." Jerren muttered.

"....filthy half-breed." he grumbled under his breath.
