"Yeah... yeah, sure." Azazel replied.

"I will." he told her.

"It'd... just be a good thing to do in general." he admitted.

"It seems so real, though." he then sighed.

"Just... ugh." he groaned.

"it seemed so... REAL."

"....." he was silent, before sighing.

Can I call? he asked.

Sure. was the response.

He then dialled her number, and she picked up quickly.

"Yes." he said.

"I mean the shadow." he told her.

"It felt like it came even closer to... well... getting me..." he mumbled further.

Oh, no reason. he sent.

He then paused, and sighed.

Okay, that's a lie. he admitted in the immediate text that followed.

He paused once more, before just shaking his head.

There was no sense in avoiding this or trying to surgarcoat it.

I had a flashback. he sent then.

Of... well... back then. he finished, giving HER time to respond now.

He peered into the den saw that his suspicions were, in fact, correct.

He made his way to the fridge and grabbed a drink, what he'd just gone through lingering in his mind.

Demons like him didn't have nightmares. However, he was prone to PTSD-like flashbacks... and this one happened to occur when he had been voluntarily undergoing a bit of a recharge, similar to sleep for a human.

"....." he was silent, before looking at his phone, and sending a text to someone.

Hey. it read.

You doin' all right? the next one asked.

"Damn it, no!" the figure exclaimed, as he ran down the cold and barren street. Snow fell from the night sky, landing softly on the ground... covering up the footsteps he was leaving behind.

That wouldn't help him, though, and he knew it.

He took as many turns as he could, weaved through as many alleys as he could find, all in an effort to avoid... something.

FInally, he rounded a corner and dashed down the alley... only to find a brick way.

"....no..." he whispered, turning around and seeing a large looming shadow coming for him.

"JUST LEAVE US ALONE!" he yelled.

"We never did anything to you, just GO AWAY!" he shouted further, causing the shadow to pause for a moment, mere metres in front of him... but it then lunged straight towards him, engulfing him.

"AAAAAH!" he yelled, his eyes popping open and his body immediately going from laying down, to sitting up.

"...!" he let out a small gasp, before looking around and seeing where he was; his bed, in his bedroom, in his house.

He sighed heavily and shook his head, trying to calm himself down now.

After a few moments, the bubbles and froth stopped, and the water became unnervingly still... and Eke then saw the water become a little darker, and a little more red...

...mere seconds before Ryker's head breached the surface.

"Eke!" he shouted out.

"We're eatin' good TONIGHT!" he declared, as he started to slowly make his way towards him... and looking like as he was swimming, he was dragging something along in the water.

"Good." Ryker replied.

"Just stay there and don't move." he told him.

"No matter WHAT." he stressed.

He then started to go further out into the lake, until he was actually swimming, before it looked like something grabbed him and pulled him under the water.

"Woa-!" he managed to get out, before he was gone from Eke's sight.

However, he popped up a few seconds later.

"Woah, nelly!" he exclaimed.

"Eke, just hang on there for a moment!" he exclaimed, before diving under again, and some serious bubbles started to rise up from the underwater thrashing.

"Still doesn't change who you are or what you are." Ryker replied.

"Form or no, you are you." he said further.

"That's all there is to it." he chuckled.

He then watched as the fish started to clump around Eke, almost hiding around him.

"Eh?" he mumbled.

He then looked out and saw a larger shadow, about the size of a bass.

"Looks like there's a predator about." he commented.

"Feel like having some fish for dinner?" he asked Eke.

"You can keep the little ones safe, and I'LL go out and catch that bigg'un."

The fish that Eke touched flinched a little, but it didn't seem to swim away quickly. It looked like it had merely been surprised by the sudden touch, but wasn't scared.

Ryker just crossed his arms over his chest and thought for a moment.

"Maybe." he said.

He then looked at a fish swimming by him, and placed his hand in the water, which caused the creature to quickly dart away and join the others.

"I think it's because you have a natural connection with nature." he commented.

"Yes, you not showing yourself to be a threat is a big part of it, but I think the fish have just accepted that you are... well... they're nature, you're part of it, too." he went on.

"I'm a human, so I'm more of an invader here. They're far warier of MY presence."

Hello, and welcome to voltra, by the way.

After some discussion with other staff members, it's been decided that such a topic would probably best fit in Hangouts, given how very specific the hobby you are speaking about it.

That's not to say it cannot go in a place such as General Chit-Chat, but it's probably best suited to Hangouts.

The person nodded.

"Good." they replied.

"Excuse me." they then said.

"Please wait for me in the living room area." they finished, before heading updstairs.

Jordan did as she was told, sitting and waiting for an agonizing 10 minutes, before the one came back down and approached her.

"Your friends have been removed from the premeses, and will be given the best care we can give." they told her. "Your half-demon friend is faring as good as can be expected, his demonic half is pushing back the virus admirably." they informed her.

"...your brother is in critical condition, however. He'll be taken to urgent ER, and we should be able to, at the very least, see to it that he is no longer deteriorating." they continued.

"From what we've been told, you are in contact with Dr. Rene Calder." they went on. "It's just as well, you can contact him for any updates on the situation." they then finished.

"Any questions?" they asked.

The one that had addressed her motioned to the other 4, and they quickly headed deeper into the house.

They then looked at her and nodded.

"Right." they said.

"Thank you." they continued.

"Can I get your name and contact info, please." they asked of her.

When she did, they nodded again and sighed.

"We'll have to ask you to continue to stay indoors for the time being." they went on.

"It is not enforceable, as you have no mana, but that does not stop you from potentially being a carrier." they warned.

"Use your own judgement and conscience as guidance."

"Mm." Rene replied.

"Take care." he told her.

They then ended the call, and she waited for those who would come.

They arrived only about a minute later, and when she answered the door, she saw 5 individuals in protective suits that were orange with green bands on them.

One stepped forward and addressed her.

"Time is of the essence." they said.

"Tell us all you know."

There was silence on the other end for a moment.

"Go to the front door." Rene told her.

"Wait for a crew wearing green and orange hazmat suits." he said further.

"Explain the situation to them and let them do their job." he went on.

"And do what they say." he added.
