Azari just gulped.

"Yes, Ma'am." he said, before rushing off.

She was waiting for close to 25 minutes, before Hal's door opened, and a rather irritated woman stepped out, huffing to herself and marching out of the receptionist's office, demanding someone that was nearby to escort her out of the building posthaste.

The receptionist just sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose.

"Angela." Hal addressed the medic, as he could see her... given that the woman didn't shut Hal's office door.

"Please... come in." he told her.

He sounded annoyed and exasperated, but took a small breath and shook it off some, 'clearing the slate' for whatever Angela was there for.

"Your newest business partner says they're going out to reprimand some subordinates." Azari quickly responded.

"They know the agreement is that someone from our end has to accompany them, and are demanding said escort." he told her. "And that they will break the contract to leave on their own if we don't."" he said further.

"However everyone here is either too busy or... well... dead." he then mumbled.

"Save for the grub." he went on, referencing Chris.

"Is he an acceptable escort for them?" he asked.

Azari just nodded.

"R-right." he said.

"One moment." he told them, before seeing Chris.

He was immediately about to say something, before pausing.

"Stay there." he commanded him, before rushing to Vanessa's office... to which the door was closed... and knocking on said door.

"Madam?" he called in.

"....right." Azari muttered.

"Geez." he then said.

"It's so weird hearing those words in that tone come from THAT body..." he commented.

Then, for the briefest of moments, he felt a twinge. A small twinge of... guilt? Sadness? Longing? He didn't know, as it was gone as quick as it came, and he dismissed it as mere nerves.

"Anyway." he mumbled.

"Is there anything you want or would like at the moment?" he asked them.

Azari flinched when they looked at him, and he resisted taking a step back.

"...nothing." he said.

"I was merely sent to check on how things were going." he told them.

"...it's good thing all of these people are... were... useless..." he then mumbled.

"I don't think there's any hope for ANY of them..." he went on.

"Is there?" he asked.

"Or are they all lost causes now?"

"......" he was silent, before letting out a low whistle.

"Wow." he said.

"That... that is certainly something else." he commented.

"You truly are a master of all sorts of abuse." he said further, looking at one whose brain had been totally ruined, and they were now a blank shell. He then looked at on that had been torn apart... literally.

"Nobody would guess the same one is responsible for both." he went on.

"...which I suppose is the point." he then mumbled further.

"MISS HAZEL!" one of them yelled.

"Quick, get her to a room!" another ordered.

"Right!" was the response given.

They then started to scramble to get her help, but there was one there that knew there was little they could do.

And he couldn't say anything about it.

"Damn it." he cursed.

"I hate this." he growled to himself, as he continued to watch over Jake.

"....blackness?" they asked in response.

It was at that point the blackness seemed to stop focusing on Anya.

And started focusing on HER.

She could tell.

It was 'looking' at her.

Clearly. She could just tell.

And it looked ready to come right for her.

Which it did. The next thing she knew, it was around her, and tendril-like shadowy claws were boring into her mind.

At the very least, it had been heard throughout the entire medical wing. And people were immediately rushing to where they'd heard it... only to find Anya collapsed onto the floor.

"What the!?" one exclaimed.

"Miss Hazel!" another said to Hazel.

"What happened?" they asked her.

"Do you have any idea?"

As she watched, it was clear that Gregory wasn't making any moves towards Jake.

If anything, it seemed like he was watching over the reptilian.

She then saw him look at her.

His expression was worried... but there was also a little reassurance to it.

However, there was a sudden look of surprise and shock to it.

And he seemed to be looking behind her.

She made her way to a closed door, but there was a window in it. She peered through and saw a team working on Jake.

And it did NOT look good.

His wounds were grievous, to say the least.

And it seemed like the medics were having trouble keeping up with the blood flow.

To make matters worse, she noticed that there was a presence around him.

Not just the shadowy presence/element to Jake, but the unmistakable sense of death that all demons could see.

It was Gregory.

He watched her go, and sighed quietly, before laying back on the bed.

The spiders didn't bother him.

Being alone didn't bother him as much as he would have thought.

All he could do was allow the blankness that surrounded him to engulf him.

Meanwhile, when Anya arrived at the Unit, and made her way to the med wing, they were already working on Jake.

And it was clear that it was serious.

There was much hustle and some panic about.

Nathan just nodded.

"Yes." he replied.

"Of course." he told her.

"...." he was then silent, and looked at her with more emotion in his eyes.

"I'm sorry." he apologised.

"I don't mean to be so useless." he told her.

"But... buy just go. Go and be with Jake." he finished, before she saw the effects of her webbing REALLY begin to seep in.

Nathan just sighed.

"Do with me what you think is best." he told her, somewhat blankly, before shaking his head slightly.

"Look..." he said.

"If you feel I'd just be in the way, or an irritation this way, order me to stay here and keep out of trouble." he told her in a moment of lucidity.

"Otherwise, tell me to come with you if I can be of help." he went on.

"I'm telling my brain to make a choice." he told her.

"...but it just isn't doing it." he lamented, a hint of frustration to his tone.
