There was nobody in the room, so she made it off the bed, and made her way to the door.

But when she opened it, she saw Nate talking with Angela, before they both noticed her.

"Woah, woah, woah." Nate said, making his way over.

"Hold on a tic." he said further.

"Are you all right?" he asked.

"You gave Jake a bit of a scare." he told her.

"Are you hearing any voices currently?" he then asked.

Levi had no time to respond, before sighing.

"I know, I hope she'll be okay, too." Jake responded.

That wasn't what Levi was thinking, but he nodded.

"Yeah." he said.

With that, he made his way to Sharp's office, where he waited to be called in, and updated him.

"...that's... alarming." Sharp responded.

"Yeah..." was all Levi could respond with.

"What the!?" the male of the two exclaimed, as Jake suddenly was on his feet.

"Izea!?" he exclaimed.

"What happened!?" the male asked.

"I don't know!" Jake replied.

"I just know she was complaining of hearing screams, even though I heard nothing, and now she's in pain!" he told them.

"...." the male was just silent as he heard this.

"She needs to get to the medical wing!" Jake then exclaimed, calling someone to get there to take her down and get looked at.

"......." Jake was silent, trying to hear what she was hearing.

But nothing.

He heard nothing.

Least of all, any screams.

He then looked at Izea, and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I... I don't hear anything." he told her.

"Are... are you all right?" he asked.

"Do you... hear these screams often?" he asked further.

"Huh?" Jake asked.

He stopped and looked around, even stopping that to try and hear what she was hearing.

But nothing.

"...uh... no..." he said.

"No, I don't." he muttered.

"Izea, what's wrong?" he asked.

"Are you all right?"

Jake nodded as well.

"Heh, yeah." he said with a laugh.

"We have a lot of good people here to make those that want us to be soulless think we are." he commented.

"Makes things a lot easier for us all." he admitted.

"Regardless, chat with ya later, Izzy." he told her.

"Good luck getting used to the arm."

"It's less 'you', and more 'them'." he replied.

"If this were literally ANYONE else showing up, it'd be cool." he told her.

"But these guys want those they see to be WORKING!" he declared, mockingly imitating a 'no-nonsense super-strict' stereotype.

"So it's just that... SOMEONE is here being chit-chatty with me." he said.

"It could be Sharp himself, and they'd see it as just as bad." he sighed.

"So yeah, if you can make yourself scarce for... 20 minutes? Then you can come back if y'want."

He smirked as well.

"Gotcha." he said.

"I'll remember that." he told her.

With that, he stretched his arms out and looked at the clock on the wall.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"Lemme see..." he mumbled, checking the clipboard on the desk.

"Great..." he muttered.

"Some suits are gonna be here soon to ask the boss some questions." he told her.

"Like, a semi-annual checkup."

"Nothin' wrong with that." Jake responded.

"Everyone's different." he told her.

"Still, the thought of you owning his ass is hilarious and satisfying." he then said.

"For now though, concentrate on your arm." he suggested.

"Get it up to snuff with your other arm, or as close as it can get."

"Same." Jake replied.

"...the guy's made subtle comments about how she looks, apparently, but he knows JUST how far to go before an actual lawsuit is viable." he told her.

"He's a creep, but a smart one." he sighed.

"She's already forced me to swear I won't do anything." he went on.

"And I doubt I would, anyway. Mainly because if something were to happen to him, it wouldn't look good for HER." he reasoned. "Plus, she's more than capable of taking care of herself." he added with a shrug.

"I'll tell her you wish her luck and such."

Jake just snickered lightly.

"Believe me, she really wants to, herself." he said.

"But he's a big name, and her professionalism will do wonders for her reputation." he told her.

"Even if, at the end of it, he terminates the contract himself, or gives bad reviews, the fact that she'll have stuck it out to whenever the end is will make her VERY attractive to other employers." he explained.

"Dude's almost an unofficial 'rite of passage' for contract workers." he lamented.

He then looked at the hand that SHE looked at, and sighed.

"Give it time." he told her.

"I'm sure that, given some time, you'll soon have a literal bone-crushing grip with it."

Jake paused for a moment, and looked at her.

And sighed.

"Stressed." he said.

"Her current employer's a jerk." he told her.

"After her contract is done, I'm going to see about getting a day off from Sharp." he went on.

"Spend the day with her and give her some pampering." he continued.

"She deserves it."

Jake smiled slightly.

"Good." he replied.

"Because those that pried... or tried to... don't work her any longer." he told her.

"For... well, various reasons." he mumbled.

He then paused, before laughing slightly.

"I make him sound like he's some sinister mob boss, when he's anything but!" he exclaimed lightly.

Again, Jake sighed.

"He doesn't like talking about it." he said.

"Hell, I only know about it because... well... I'm security. It's kind of my job." he mumbled.

"But I'm sure that once you get closer to him, he'll open up." he went on.

"And yeah, you're not the only curious one." he continued.

"Some have even tried to pry it out of him in the past."
