"....." Hal was silent as he regarded his daughter.

"Hello." he greeted her.

"....Lunet..." he then said.

"Have... you been working on the phone ever since you arrived here?" he asked.

"It's just past noon." he then commented.

"You must be exhausted."

The man just nodded.

"Got it." he said as she left.

"...she's really the boss's daughter?" the first asked.

"Seems so." his coworker responded.

"...am I gonna get in trouble?" the first one asked, now nervous.

"Highly doubt it." the first replied.

"Now we need to get to work." he finished, before they did just that.

The second one was the one to answer.

"To answer your first question, any of the senior techs." he told her.

"As for where Chloe it, she's in the server room." he then said.

"She makes sure everything's in working order every night." he went on.

"Normally we make sure that nobody bothers her or interferes, but... well, even WE know that YOU'RE the one that's responsible for Chloe's existence." he then reasoned.

"I'm sure you know where the server room is." he added, tossing her a card key to get into the room.

The man pinched the bridge of this nose.

"You two!" he said.

"Y-yes!?" the first one exclaimed.

"Leave her alone." the guard said.

"That's Lunet Sharp. The head honcho's daughter." he went on.

"And it sounds like she's doing some important work." he continued.

"All right?' he asked.

"R-right." the first one replied.

"Got it." the second one chimed in.

Before the two of them could say anything, there was a knock on the door.

The jumpier of the two stepped away and let them in.

"What's going on, here?" the guard asked.

But before they could answer, the man looked at Lunet.

"Oh, hey Lunet." he greeted her.

"What are you doing here?" he asked. "You're usually not here this late, let alone in the tech department."

The both of them were extremely confused now.

They did not know how she logged in, didn't know what a highschooler was doing here, HOW she got into the Unit, or anything.

The first one started to panic a little, and before Lunet or the other one could do anything, he pressed a red button that was under his desk, which was essentially a silent alarm to bring security there.

"What-" the second started to ask, but the first one jumped from their seat and ran to the door, blocking it with their body.

"We need to keep her here until security arrives!" he exclaimed.

"...." the other one was silent, before groaning.

"And you're jumpy as always." the second one muttered.

"Who ARE you?" they asked Lunet.

"...h-hey!" the one that had addressed her sai.

"Wait, hold on a second." they said.

"You can't use that computer, that's for higher-ups." they told her.

"And who are you?" they asked.

"...." the other one was silent, before looking at Lunet as well.

"You look... familiar..." they commented.

"Are you new here or something?"

Her trek to the tech department went unimpeded and uninterrupted, and it was only a few minutes before she reached the place in question.

When she stepped inside, she found it wasn't empty.

But there WERE 2 people working at computers there.

One turned and looked at her, before waving.

"Greetings." they said.

"There something we can help you with?"

Hal nodded... before yawning.

"Got it." he said.

He then paused for a moment, before shaking his head.

"I'm going to bed after this, Lunet." he told her.

"Call me when you're finished working on the phone, or if you need anything." he said further.

"And... as usual... you'll appear in my office." he added.

"Love you, sweetie." he finished, before smiling and snapping his fingers... and the next thing Lunet knew, she was in his office.

And then, about 5 seconds later, Roxie's phone appeared on her father's desk, alongside the charging cord, for her own battery-dead phone

Ryker just laughed and returned the hug.

"You're a long way from eating me out of house and home." he said.

"Trust me, we won't be running out of food anytime soon." he assured him.

"And yeah, see? You still got it!" he told him.

"That previous cashier was just jaded, is all." he chuckled.

"Anyway, ready to get back on the road again?" he asked.

"No, nothing's wrong." Hal replied.

"I need your technical expertise." he told her.

He then proceeded to tell her that Roxie was on an undercover mission, and needed modifications to her cell phone. He explained what needed doing, and that it needed doing ASAP.

"Think you can do it?" he asked.

"You're free to use the resources at the Unit if need be." he said.

"But, is this something you think is manageable in the next 24 hours or so?"

'Got back about two hours ago." Hal responded, looking towards her.

"And all right." he said.

"By the way, have you gotten a chance to read the texts I've sent you?" he asked.

"I've sent 2 or 3 in the past little bit." he told her.

He was then silent, before sighing quietly, and shaking his head slightly.

He planned to go to bed after this.

Hal just sighed and shook his head.

Come get me when you get home. he sent her.

Depending on whether they were at dinner or the movie, he would get a response sooner, or later. It also depended on when she left.

He then made his way to the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of something to drink, and made his way to the den, collapsing in one of the couches there.

"...so tired." he mumbled.

"But not sleepy." he cursed.

"Oh well." he chuckled, turning on the TV and watching it, wondering if he would fall asleep first, or if Lunet would return home before that.

"Bye!" Azazel called to her, though he was sure she just barely heard it.

"Heh, she's a speedy one, she is." he chuckled.

He then made his way to Hal, and dropped the phone off.

After a brief bit a conversation, they left, and Hal sighed, grabbing his phone.

Sweetie, I need to talk to you, whenever you read this. he sent to his daughter.

You're not in trouble, but I AM in need of your expertise. he quickly clarified.

"...she'll probably wake me up at home later." he then said, looking at the clock and deciding it was time to go home for the night.
