@Wildfire: I'm sure I'll crash later today, but for now, I'm pretty wide awake. As for today... no plans, really, just same ol' same ol'. Probably work on my Minecraft builds today. I'm working on a lighthouse for my pirate village but I'm not sure I like what I built it out of; I used brick and stone but I feel like pirates would probably be more likely to build out of wood. So I might re-do it.

Oh, I just saw your other post, lol. Yeah, it's lit up in the top, but it doesn't rotate the light or anything. I did that on a previous build but because of the way the multiplayer server loads and unloads, it broke the redstone clock that ran it so I had to leave it permanently lit. Maybe I can make it turn on at night and off during the day, though... o3o

What are you up to today?

Good morning, everyone!

I slept like four hours but I'm no longer sleepy. Which is SUPER weird for me. :I

Oh well, guess I'll go back to working on my lighthouse in Minecraft. :P

@Wildfire:
Yeah, no tornado, but now my roommate's like "yesterday it sounded like an explosion down the street" and I'm like ... and what was it? But I guess she doesn't know because she didn't say. *facepalm*

@Wildfire:
As far as I know there's no evidence of a tornado; I'm guessing if there was one it didn't touch down (but I'm leaning more towards some kind of emergency helicopter going by, flying low because of the weather, or something).

I'm doing okay. Boring quiet day where the most I've done is work on an Instacart grocery order, lol.

You?

@Spider:
I do remember seeing something about people staying at Disney during hurricanes, lol. It makes sense, I suppose!

@Totalanimefan:
Man, you and me both, but I also know that odds are ever-increasing that we'll get hit again, worse. :/

@Alchemists Fire:
Lol I lived in Los Angeles for years, and was definitely less nervous about the possible earthquakes than impending hurricanes!

@Spider:
Oh gosh, yeah, you said you're in Orlando right? Good lord, people won't cancel those trips for much of anything. Which given the cost I guess is kind of understandable but it sucks for the employees. Given what a sunny day it turned out to be here (I'm in the Tampa Bay area) I'm guessing it's probably pretty busy there, lol.

Slimy dirt bunnies! Lol. Congrats on your new kids; they're super cute. :3

@Wildfire:
It was a heck of a storm but didn't seem much if any worse than storms I've been through without a "tropical storm" designation. I was a bit anxious about possible tornadoes (we heard a weird noise at one point that my roommate was sure was a tornado nearby, though the news didn't confirm it so I don't know what it was). Mostly lots of rain and some heavy-ish wind. Though the flooding in the back yard did come about halfway up the back porch! As much as I enjoy rain, I think we need a break from it for a bit, lol.

I didn't fall asleep until after 3, after the worst of it seemed to have passed (again a bit paranoid about possible tornadic activity). And even then I slept with my door open in case something did happen. I slept pretty late today, lol.

The fish turned out fantastic! It was really yummy. We had this coating for the fish that had a bit of a kick and some lemon to it and was really good. And yeah! We've gotten some amazing fish cuts from him, it's quite nice! :D

@Spider:
I can understand that! I'd rather sleep through a worse storm too I think.

I wouldn't want to work through a storm like this either. Heck, I was annoyed that I had to take out the trash in this one. XD;

@Spider:
Oh my god I just cackled, that's great. Very Floridian. Much like how many midwesterners like to watch when there's tornados (my cousin in Colorado got some great shots recently of one--moving away--near their house)!

Kind of a pity Elsa's hitting at night; can't see the cool clouds!

Posted in what are you studying? Posted 3 years ago

I've wanted to learn German for years. I have a little tiny bit of a basis for it; my mom was studying it when I was super young and I picked up words here and there. Also my grandpa was the son of German immigrants so I'd love to learn it for that reason as well. I've thought about getting one of those language apps like Babbel or something.

@Spider: Lol! I forgot about the Waffle House thing. I guess if it's still open it can't be too bad. ;) I never thought I'd wish someone's power goes out but good luck, I guess! XD

@Spider: Yep, and right smack in the path of Elsa.

My roommate/landlord didn't move her stuff off the porch either and I'm really wondering how much is going to have to be gathered from around the cul-de-sac tomorrow. XD

@MaxIsConfused: Yay! I know it can be a struggle, but it always feels nice to be fresh and clean. :)

@Totalanimefan: I suppose that's true! I had already done my laundry two days ago but the sheets were bothering me. It's unlikely we'll lose power--in like 40 years this house only has a couple times and neither was due to storms--but at least I can be cozy in a clean bed while the storm rages outside my window. :)
