@Wildfire: Lol I suppose that's true; I'm just not used to it so I genuinely forget sometimes. I grew up in Texas and spent most of my adulthood in southern California, both of which tend to be quite a bit dryer.

As far as flood warnings or evacuation orders, nah, I haven't seen anything. I know it's likely going to be fine, but monkey brain goes "eek!," you know? XD

My roommate seems to kind of enjoy this weather, lol. Even though she's been struck by lightning so she's not overly fond of that part at least. But she's having her own little 'hurricane party'.

Also a friend of hers gave us fresh-caught Mahi-Mahi from the Keys today (he goes fishing a lot) so we're having a lil' fish fry for dinner! So that's fun. :)

Yeah, I'm concerned with the storm surge. I think my house is far enough from the closest creek to be okay but this area is riddled with creeks and waterways that I often forget about until I look at a map.

It's been spitting off an on but hasn't really done the pouring buckets thing yet.

@Wildfire: Tech-heavy people come in handy sometimes! :)

And maybe a little? I do have several anxiety disorders and things like this tend to amp up those background nerves I guess. Even though I'm sure we'll be fine and all, it's the 'impending' part that does it I think.

@Wildfire: I mean that you know what to do with the router, that's all. ^^;

And yeah, guess it is!

We're about to get hit by a hurricane and I decided to wash my bedsheets. 9_9 I never said I was smart. XD Aaaand there goes the washer jingle, time for the dryer!

@Wildfire: My bad, lol. ^^;

And me too, I really thought we'd be getting rain by now but I'm sure we'll be getting plenty soon enough.

To be perfectly honest I couldn't stand how sandy and generally dirty the sheets had become (I blame my roommate's dog; he loves me and jumps up on my bed constantly) so I just decided to wash it all.

This wouldn't be weird except we're getting hit by a hurricane within the next hour or so, lol. I've basically waffled all day on whether I wanted to bother and finally caved.

Any dubious decisions you've made recently?

@Wildfire:
Yeah, roommate is taking advantage of the space between this band and the next rain to get the horses fed. Hopefully it holds out long enough!

We were sitting in line at the Walgreens drive-thru when the first bit of rain hit, lol. We sat there eating our Wendy's fries, having unsuccessfully sought out sand bags, and by the time we were done and it had stopped raining. Which is good because she turned on her windshield wipers and one of the wiper blades flew off. :I

Glad your power came back; did you try resetting the router? Sometimes power outages make the things glitch up.

@Wildfire:
I did make sure to take a shower before we fill the tub for emergency toilet-flushin' water, lmao. Also bought three extra cases of water, bringing the total to four (three are mine and one is roommate's; I go through way more water than she does).

I need to take my dark load out of the dryer but I forgot to do it when the load stopped running so now they're wrinkled, but I'm forbidden from running a 5-minute 'fluff' cycle because "it wastes energy."

So I'll wait and do it when roommate's not here tonight (she's responsible for several horses including one of her own and has to take care of them regardless of the weather). >_>

Other than that it occurs to me that we should find the little chest cooler; but I guess if we need it we can get it, I think it's in the shed.

The ice bin is pretty full but I'm wondering if I should turn the maker on until it's really full...

@Wildfire: I got a bunch of soups (and paid less than half price for them thanks to Walgreens rewards lol) and I already have some, so if nothing else I'll eat a lot of soup. XD

@Another Movie Addict: I hope not! Good luck!

Doing good; we've got candles but it's unlikely we'll lose power; this house has been through hurricanes and never lost power because it's on an emergency circuit of some kind so the most that happens is the power dims for a moment until the backup kicks in. So I'm not too worried about power; it'd have to be pretty catastrophic I think to wipe that out. But I dunno about water; you never know if the infrastructure is going to break down somewhere.

I am a little concerned because we need groceries, though, like just in general, and I don't know if we're going to be able to get much. I never know how bad people are going to panic buy. I think I'll pick up some canned soup while I'm at Walgreens getting water though. o3o

God, the dog's claws were trimmed and dremmeled (lol) yesterday but damned if he didn't get my leg pretty good; he actually managed to break the skin slightly, which I think was because of the rough edges from his claws being trimmed. It's not very deep but it sure still hurts, geez.

Whee, we've got a tropical storm incoming~

Other than getting some extra water I don't think we're doing much about it. We need groceries but roommate is broke. :I

Running to buy extra water -just in case- before Elsa hits. I'm close enough to the water to be nervous with the expected storm surge. Kinda wish we were around less waterways. We've got a lot of canals and such around us. 🙃

That sucks that you have to go in to work while you're sick, Addict. :/

@Wildfire: Lol, much as I'd enjoy having one, I have no place to put it even if I did. My tiny room can barely contain me at this point already. That's really cool though! What kind of swords do you have, if you don't mind my asking? o3o
