@sunny: I haven't quite explored enough. My neighborhood is really quiet. c: The view from the street is really cool! From our yard [we need to trim a couple of trees] but we can see the town down the hill. and if we walk up the hill a bit, we can see the mountains on the horizon. I ran into a neighbor who told me to walk up the block at sunset to really appreciate the view. :p That neighbor proceeded to tell me all about the neighborhood dogs, what their names are and their temperaments. lol. :D
We bought a house! So this is all really exciting for me. We've been renting and moving for the last 9 years. :O
@sunny: I moved into my house about 2 months ago. First 2 weeks, I had guests over helping me move in and unpack. After they left, we had a couple of weeks of horrible air quality- so going outside wasn't an option. Now things are cooling down, fresh air and whatnot. I feel like I can get out and go do things now. :O
@Wildfire: I understand what you mean about teen guys. I was the youngest in my big family. I had 2 older brothers by about 10 years. They weren't much help. My eldest brother was busy with after school clubs and getting ready for the military. The other brother was absorbed with his friends, i didn't see much of him for a long time.
Yesterday, my neighbor was flabbergasted because I didn't know we had a beach/lake area 15 minutes from our neighborhood. lol!
Also, I can't believe 80 is cool for you guys! How do you handle 100-degree weather?!

I just jumped on the trampoline for 5 minutes and omg, I'm mega out of shape.
@sunny: I'm feeling a bit stuck indoors too. I'm thinking I'll go take a walk around the block or something today. Just to get out and see my new neighborhood.

I spent last year 30 minutes away from town and any good restaurant was 45 min away. So I learned to cook healthier and to have sufficient snacks in the house at all times.
I'm struggling on that front in the new house. Talking about cooking and healthier meals makes me so motivated to get up and do it. I think I'll do beef stew today. C: <3
omg! 80?! Oof! I'm on the west coast, it's cooled down here. I wish it was 80 here. I miss our hot-hot days. Why can't you rely on the boys to help ya out? [if you don't mind me asking].
My brother talked about selling me his one-person kayak. He bought fishing attachments for it and it's rather fancy. I wouldn't mind having it, but i'd have to buy another kayak for my husband. I don't quite feel confident enough to go out on my own yet.
@Wildfire: I feel your grocery annoyance. My husband is a cow, he burns so much energy. My kids are snack hounds. I eat like a bird.
OH! Kayaking! How fun! :DD

@sunny: Thank you! :p My avi sort of surprised me. I didn't have much intention when I put it together. But I enjoy the outcome. <3
How is your day going?
turns out our nearest neighbor has 6 foster kids about the same age as our littles. o3o" we'll be seeing a lot of them, I'm pretty sure.
Their eldest kid, that we did not meet, has the same hobby as my husband's career. so I think we'll see a lot of their family.

Hi Sunny! I love your avi! :D
Our sprinklers went off this morning [house is still new to me, i don't know the hours and times these sprinklers go off] lol, I had to rush to find where to turn them off. Sprinklers were getting the trampoline box and instructions and stuff wet. I left everything out last night. e.e" oops.
we ended up meeting our neighbors last night, it was like the trampoline summoned neighbor kids out. It was weird. Been here 2 months and haven't met the neighbors or seen the kids before.
We put together a trampoline until dark last night. It's not quite finished, need to tie down the spring protector.

Today will be a good day.

Morning!
Sorry for the late reply. I got the kids finished with their daily hw and I took a shower.
My family line comes from Norway and Sweden. My great grandparents came from Norway on my dad's side. and Sweden and some Norwegian on my mom's. I don't know much about my mom's side though. Rather not.
I picked Norwegian because, as a typical person proud of their family history, I'd like to visit Norway when my kids are older. I don't want to feel too clueless when I get there. There is a lot of English there, but I'd rather be able to read signs and whatnot.
(2 hours later keeping this unfinished reply)
Easy food makes me happy!
I'm going to make a vegetable stir fry tonight with rice.
@Wildfire: If you have any quick meal ideas, I'm all ears. I'm not very good at cooking and I need to get better. My kids are only getting older and hungrier.
I'm learning Norwegian as well. :) Learning a different language makes my brain feel sharp.
I need more outdoor hobbies, all the things I did outside sort of stopped once all my moving and working started. I miss hiking... hmm, I wonder if that's something I should do with my smalls tonight or this week sometime.

I'd love to see your artwork sometime. :D
I play piano. c: Our house came with a beautiful piano, however, the keys stick really bad. I'm unable to play music on it without it sounding super wonky.
I have a Viola, lap drum, and a theremin. .. and an electric guitar. I haven't touched them in a few years. Been moving too much.
Maybe i'll learn the viola this year. :d

What do you do for hobbies? crafting?
Every year I do something different with crafting. I made quilts one year, did jewelry the next, painting, digital art, india ink, list goes on.
Last winter I did carving and gave the faces I carved to family on Christmas.

I haven't had a new itch yet this year. I bought stuff to make new curtains for one of the rooms in the house. But just haven't done it yet.
My mom is bringing me more of my stuff this week and she'll be giving me my instruments. So maybe I'll pick up music again. :d
I'm proud of myself, the last 2 times I've been to craft stores, I walked out spending less than 30$.
I've become a lot more organized recently. I've moved a lot in the last 2 years and I couldn't afford to move extra art/craft stuff.
I'd love to get back into doing crafting and artsy things. :d But I don't know where to start.

I know my son's teacher is dealing with a website not working, so I'm doing a supplement site until she can get it back up and running, but it's been a solid week since her website went down.
@Wildfire: My son's teacher has sent me very vague instructions. So I'm sort of guessing/doing what I think he's supposed to be doing.
My daughter's teacher tells her students what to do. However, once the class meeting is over, my daughter is a squirrel. She goes "Uhhm.. I thiiiink.. I'm supposed to... do math?"
*mommy facepalm so hard*

I always spend too much when I walk into a craft store. I always go with a list though, so at least I get what I really want or need for a craft.
