@lullaby: they are great for organizing the references you use most. I think zotero costs after so long but it is free up to a point.

@Jolly: that sounds horrible. which class is this? and any good educator knows that there are different methods of learning and information retention. some of us are auditory, some are more visual, some hands-on, and some through a mix. maybe better organization in your notebook would help, but if the information isn't leaving him to get to you and your notebook there is still a disconnect.
furthermore, if you were called out in class, then you should get an apology in class. i firmly believe that criticism in private, and compliments in public. do you have opportunity or options to speak with administration or some other faculty about this type of treatment?

@lullaby: woot woot. Congrats on seeing the finish line. I remember being so close to graduating and the anticipation. Now I am back in school and here's to 3 more years lol
I love Google scholar. I also use programs like zotero and mendeley to help keep sources cited and readily available.
