@Miss Sandman: it is challenging however, my son is such a blessing. He is just like me and so I have nobody to blame but myself lol. He is quite responsible for his age but a lot came out of need. He and I both have been through some trying times. However, I am doing my best to let him be a kiddo and not hold him to unrealistic standards. I will say the mood swings......the mood swings lol but all in all he is a treasure. He'll always be my baby :)

@Miss Sandman: that is so cute! I miss having a baby. My son is 13 nearly 14. Enjoy these moments. Parenting is simply long days and short years.

@Tink: I have issues with it too at times. Sometimes I feel I can change the world and everyone just needs a little time and patience and attention. But sometimes I just need to cut it out and cut my losses. I've learned that if something begins to cost me my joy and peace of mind, then that price is simply too high. If ya ever wanna chat you can pm me.

@Tink: glad you got out and are doing well. Congrats! To treat volunteers like 💩 is pretty bad. After all they're investing the highest valued commodity of all, their time, and for free. Big big cyber ava-hugs lol I cannot believe you lasted 2 years but then again I've stayed in situations longer than I should have as well. Cheers to cutting out the negativity. 🍵

@Keo: it's not the most interesting fascinating and difficult work I've ever done for certifications. all-in-all I almost feel guilty because I'm enjoying it so much does that make sense? Like why isn't this being taught in schools why is this something we learn later on if at all?
Posted in Panic Attacks

@grost: I have had anxiety for over a decade now. it gets much better in time. i have learned new coping skills, grounding, breathing etc. but i also have panic attacks. those are different. i was once house bound for over 2 years because of acute agoraphobia. but with help and treatment i overcame most of it. back on subject, i recently, or in the past few years have come to realize i have seizures at times. mine are brought on by stress and lack of sleep. i do not shake, nor do i have symptoms of grand mal type seizures. i simply go catatonic, black out, and then wake up. sometimes i fall, sometimes i don't. but i wake up with total confusion, headache, brainache, no real concept of date nor time, and chunk of memory gone. i do my best to keep my family and friends educated. try and notice any warning signs, any indicator that something isn't quite right. and sometimes that is all i can do or say.....something isn't quite right. I'd suggest grounding work, breathing exercises, and coping skills. planning on what to do if you feel one coming on, and what to do when you come to after an attack or seizure. and keep your circle informed no matter its size. you need the support. we all do. if you'd like additional information i do not mind sharing resources.

Posted in Possible Triggers - Crisis Topic - Resources Available
Posted 5 years ago
So tonight as I was heading to bed, I got all tucked in, and was sharing some time with a very special friend. Not long after, i received a message i had hoped would never come. A dear friend of mine, 21 years roughly, reached out because her husband had done something to her, or so she thought. She was panicked and frozen, scared and having serious flashbacks to her past. This is not uncommon during this time where people are quarantined and held hostage in their own homes so to speak. I would like to share with you all some help that is available.
Text the word START, HOME, or HELLO to 741741 will link you to a crisis advocate. you do not have to share anything you do not wish. it is confidential. the person you speak with is a trained advocate who is there for support and guidance but not medical information. You can also get this service through FB messenger at https://www.facebook.com/crisistextline/
211 from your phone will connect you with the United Way. All you do is give them your zip ode and let them know what you need and they will help locate resources in your area. this can be for any type of resource, and if they do not have a specific answer they can certainly point you in the right direction. http://www.211.org
RAINN is the nation's largest sexual assault hotline. 800.656.4673 to speak with a counselor and find resources. you can also go to https://www.rainn.org/ and live chat with someone. intimate partner violence affects a large portion of citizens. every 73 seconds an American is sexually assaulted, and every 9 min that person is a child.
National Child Abuse Hotline 800-422-4453 to chat with a counselor or for chat help www.childhelphotline.org
Sadly with the covid crisis, this is only adding stress to families, which correlates with higher rates of intimate partner violence and child abuse. (https://www.apa.org/topics/covid-19/domestic-violence-child-abuse) If you or anyone you know is in need of assistance, there is help, and there is hope. Reach out. You are not alone.
To finish my story from above, as of now, my friend is safe. She has a safety plan that we worked on, a safe word, and she is armed with knowledge and resources. She has got to be one of the strongest and bravest people I know.
I also apologize if this is not appropriate or the right place to put this, i just felt the need to share some resources just in case someone out there needed to hear this message. Additional information is continued from here. Sadly I am not versed on international crisis lines for any of our members who aren't stateside, however, if anyone cares to contribute numbers or websites that may be of value to someone, even save a life.

@Lucifera: omg yes. But then I think, certain games were made more magical and memorable due to circumstance or the people I shared it with. If I had the amnesia I'd want to you know, spread it around and recreate the whole event.
I just imagine how awful it would be to reexperience it but at a lower level and maybe have disdain or indifference for the game :( like FF3 AKA FF6 lol was made even better because where I was at in school plus trading back and forth with a friend of mine for instance when we were trying to collect all the rates for Gau. Sorry for my rant lol memories came flooding back.
