Aimee was silent before smiling softly.

"For now, get out of here. I need some sleep to get my mana to recover." She then said.

There was silence in the hall where Madison and Lex were sitting. Aimee was in the room, she was the last to speak on behalf of Lex. After she finished, they would have the verdict.

Madison was pacing, unable to sit still. She'd been with the twins for about two weeks by this point, and she'd quickly learned that she didn't want to leave. She learned very quickly that she actually liked it there, and she didn't want to leave. They were waiting until she was officially staying there before worrying about education. Hollie had made sure to pspeed this along, as well.

It wasn't hard to tell that Madison was anxious though. Then again, Lex was too.

Aimee just sighed as she took a seat.

"That was nervewracking." She admitted.

"But... things seemed to have gone well." She then said.

"Not perfectly, of course, there were plenty of questions I hadn't been prepared for... but at least... I think it may have gone well." She added. Madison let out a bit of a breath of releif when she heard that. That was good to hear, after all.

Madison took his hand, and they made their way into the room. She had nerves, of course, but she was relatively calm, all things considered.

They were directed to specific spots, and they sat down.

"We had a lot to consider." One of those that were part of the hearing stated.

"But we did come to a decision. Overall, it was a rather easy one to make, as well."

Madison, being a child, let out a small cheer before coughing, trying to cover it.

"Of course, we will be checking in periodically, as we would with any cases." One mentioned.

"But I'm sure you've been well informed about that already." They added.

"regardless. All we need is your signature to finalise this, Monsieur."

"You two may leave." One of them said, their voice kind.

"You can be aproper family now, as well." They added. Madison meanwhile just held fast, obvioously relieved.

"I assume you guys are going to handle making sure she has appropriate schooling as well." They finished with, an almost pointed tone to theri voice. Aimee had, of course, assured thek that it would be something that would be put into motion right quickly once they had custody.

Aimee just grinned slightly.

"Good." She said.

"Now, Madison... there are a few things you will have to keep im mind." She then addressed the child.

"Oh?" The child asked.

"Schooling is coming soon, once we figure it all out, and you will be worked hard, possibly harder than you would like." Aimee told him honestly.

"All right." Madison said with a nod.

"But before we worry about all that. How about a late lunch?" Aimee then asked. Maison nodded, obviously interested.

Aimee just shrugged.

"Puts my skills to good use." She commented with a light laugh as they headed off.

Madison did well in the homsechooling, and it didn't take long before she was in middle school. Of course, she was doing quite well in there, but was most certainly excelling in history. That was something that wasn't a surprise though, as the twins were very well aware of her penchant for it - even without her necromancy. She just retained historical knowledge like nobodies business, and she'd expressed quite early on that she wanted to do something regarding history as a profession - she just didn't know what, precisely, it would be.

The twins had put her into a mage middle school, as she was a mage and Aimee couldn't teach her forever due to her own work. Madison was quite thrilled with being in a school though, since while yes, she loved Aimee, she wanted to mingle with other kids her age. She was actually allowed to, and it was something she wanted to experience. She wanted to try and make friends.

One day though, she was in history, the teacher was droning on about something or the other, and Madison's attention faltered. In history was one place where it never did. She was always interested in learning, or pointing out inconsistencies or incorrect assumptions by the teacher. That was something else that had been established pretty early on.

As the teacher handed out the tests and set them to it, Madison just stared at the page, her brain not able to actually process what she was looking at, what she was supposed to do. She could barely even read what was there.

Madison didn't respond, or react, for about a minute before meeting the teachers gaze.

"I... I'm not sure." She admitted. They could see the almost vacant look to her gaze, as if wires weren't connecting. Her voice was wavering as well.

"I just... " She started before shaking her head, violently. As she did so though, there was a pulse of her mana.

"I can't focus." She finally managed to get out a few seconds later.

"I..." Madison started beore carefully getting to her feet.

"I should.... I should be good." She then said. After being told to leave, she did so, leaving all her stuff behind. It just hadn't occurred to her to colect everything.

She walked through the hall so the school, a hand trailing the wall. The halls were empty, but that wasxn't surprising, everyone was in class, after all.

She managed to make her way to the nurses office without any difficulty, surprisingly enough, and just knocked before being beckoned to enter. Once in, she just sat down where she was told, and waited.

She knew that she'd have to wait for a bit, always did. The nurse was a relatively busy woman overall.

When the nurse came to checck on her, see what the issue was, she didn't get a response quickly. After it seemed like they wouldn't get a response, Madison met their gaze.

"I... what?" She asked.

"Sorry... could you repeat that?"

Madison was silent for a moment, shaking her head.

"I..." She started, her voice faltering.

"I don't...." She couldn't get the words out, was having a harder time now than she was in class. She was able to kind of tell what was it that was going on though.

She felt like she was on a precipice, a divide between the world of the living and the world of the dead. There was no way she could say it though. She was also completely unware of the mana presence she was giving off, as well.
