Aly nodded in response.

"Yes, of course." she replied.

"I'll go get them now." she told him, before leaving.

Ryker then sighed quietly.

"Sorry about that." he apologised.

"But that was the quickest and best way to do it." he told him.

"You gonna be okay?"

'.....hm.' Adym mumbled.

"No problem." he told her.

"I'm glad you liked it." he said.

"Now. We should probably get to the seer sooner, rather than later." he went on.

"After all, while we have plenty of time, it's best to not leave it until the last minute." he reasoned.

"And it will give you a chance to see the town a bit."

Adym just smirked a little.

"Ah, fair enough." he replied.

"I'm glad it's all right." he told her.

He then sighed quietly, as they ate, and the food disappeared quickly, with Callie eating more than Adym.

"All right." he commented.

"How was it?" he asked.

"Filling?" he asked further.

Adym noticed her pause.

It was slight, barely noticeable to most, but he saw it.

"...Callie?" he addressed her.

"Everything all right?" he asked.

"There something wrong with the steak?" he inquired further.

Was this pause something he was looking too deeply into? Did something just catch her by surprise? If so, what? Was she starting to get her memory back?

He then lightly shook his head, and forced himself to calm down.

'Don't get unnecessarily worked up.' he told himself mentally.

"No, Eke, it's okay." Aly said.

"It's okay. Really." she told him.

"There's no need to apologise." she assured him, giving him a hug, but making sure to avoid the shoulder that had been hurting.

At that point, Ryker returned with a mug of tea.

"Here." he said to Eke, handing it over.

"Drink up."

"Heh." Adym chuckled.

"Thank you." he said.

"I cultivated them, myself." he told her.

"They're a special cross-breed. Maximum flavour." he went on.

"ALL my vegetables are like that." he continued.

"And yes, you're right. That little one has a kink in his tail, which means he can't do tree acrobatics like the others." he explained. "He wouldn't survive out in the wild." he went on.

"And me, being the sucker for animals I am, took him in and allowed him to live in my backyard, where he's safe and has food readily available."

Ryker just nodded.

"Aly, comfort him." he told her.

"I'm going to make him something hot to drink." he said, before leaving the room.

"..." Aly was silent, before kneeling down near Eke.

"...Eke...?" she asked.

"Are... are... you all right?" she asked further.

When she took a bite of the potato, she was greeted with a savoury and flavourful mouthful. It was not what she expected, but she certainly wasn't complaining about it.

"You are correct in that." Adym replied.

'Essentially.' he added mentally.

"And it's called a Clastee." he told her.

"It's... like a ferret and a squirrel combined, to help you understand." he went on.

"They're usually skittish, but this guy loves people." he continued.

"Especially ones that might give him food." he laughed.

Meanwhile, the creature was furiously nibbling on the vegetable, stuffing its cheeks.

Adym just smiled lightly.

"I did." he replied.

"That being said, this brief conversation was enough to have it cool down just enough." he said with a light laugh.

"Please, feel free to dig in." he told her.

"After we finish, we'll go to the seer." he continued, as the ferret-like creature snuck up onto the table.

"And HE only gets ONE of those." he stressed, pointing to what looked like carrots.

"No more. Or else he'll try and be a little thief in the future."

"We don't have to wait until tomorrow." Adym responded.

"She generally leaves her place of business around 7:30ish." he told her.

"...and as for what to expect..." he then mumbled, before sighing.

"She... well... bear in mind, she DOES practice a little showmanship." he warned her.

"But there are charms and dreamcatchers around her place, as well as clarifying smoke from incense." he explained.

"She's very nice, though. And when she tells someone to do something, they better well do it." he continued.

"She has 100% accuracy."

"Ah." Adym responded.

"It's-" he paused for a moment, thinking about it.

"Hang on." he told her.

He then looked at some of the plants that were around, specifically one of the ones that looked like a tulip, but with long slender vine-like protrusions coming out from its petals.

"Uhh... mmhmm... and that... change that..." he mumbled, seemingly doing some calculations.

"About 4:30 in the afternoon." he told her.

"Why?" he asked.

Adym bit his lip slightly, and sighed heavily.

'Ohhhh boy.' he thought.

'This isn't good.' he told himself. 'She's not properly equipped to deal with this world, and if I return her to the other world, Vyran will just find her and go after her again.' he reasoned.

'And she'll be LESS equipped to deal with him at that point.' he realised.

"Don't be so sure." he said.

"Miracles can happen." he told her.

"The seer has helped countless people."

"Heh, thanks." Adym responded.

"Everyone needs to know how to fend for themselves after all." he reasoned.

With that, he dished out the food, making sure she had enough glaze/gravy, and poured her a glass of the liquid.

"After this, we'll consult the seer." he told her.

"She knows a lot. Odds are she'll be able to help in this situation." he said.

"For now, enjoy."

Adym paused when he saw the scene he did.

'...ah, because she's a crux.' he realised.

'That and they must be able to sense that she's a good person.' he added mentally.

With that, he sighed, and carried the tray he had over. There was a pitcher of liquid on it, two glasses, the food, and the plates and utensils.

"Looks like you've made some friends." he commented.

"Hope they're not being too much of a bother."
