Aly was silent, before returning the kiss.

"...Eke..." she said.

"I already have the absolute best for my birthday." she told him.

"After all... I have YOU." she reasoned.

Ryker, hearing this, just smirked slightly.

Lex just sighed.

"Well... yeah..." he mumbled.

"Your mana was... hella strong." he told her.

"But Aimee and I managed to wrangle it, and it seems like you're gaining control over it normally." he went on.

"Yes, the weird disconnect IS normal. Necromancers go through it after their maturation. It'll last for... oh, I week? About that?" he continued.

"But what matters is that you're okay." he told her further.

"Anyway, I'll go make the cookies." he said.

"I'll bring them in when they're ready." he continued, before pausing.

"Want anything right now, or craving anything at this moment?" he asked.

Lex just laughed when Madison said what she did.

"It's all right." he said.

"Seriously. It's all for you." he told her.

"Feel like something sweet?" he asked.

"I bought some of that premade cookie batter." he told her. "Can pop some in the oven for you, and be done in 20 minutes or so." he continued.

"If not, that's cool. Just thought I'd ask." he went on.

"So how are you feeling?" he then asked her. "...besides hungry."

At some point, Lex woke up, and stretched out.

"Nngh." he grunted, getting up and making his way out of the room. He checked Madison's room, and found it empty. Upon discovering this, he started to make his way downstairs.

"Wonder how long she's been up." he mumbled.

"...wonder how much she's eaten." he added with a smirk.

"Madison!?" he then called out as he descended the stairs.

"Where y'at!?" he asked.

Aly was... speechless.

Completely and utterly speechless.

Her breath caught in her mouth, and she brought her hands up to her face for a moment, taking in everything.

"....." she was silent for a moment, a stunned expression frozen on her face, before she looked at Eke.

She stood there, almost rooted to the floor, before lunging towards him, wrapping her arms around him.

"Eke, it's wonderful!" she exclaimed, holding him close.

While she didn't see anyone there, she DID see something else.

Specifically, she saw two extra-large pizza boxes on the counter. There were special stamps on it as well, meaning that mana had been used to keep the pizzas inside hot and fresh... as though they had literally JUST been made and delivered.

When she made her way over, the aroma wafting through the air, she also saw a note by the boxes.

Maddy,

Odds are Aimee is gone (at work), and I'm asleep in my room.

But we were told that you would have an impressive appetite when you woke up, so we stocked up for that. These pizzas are here for you to scarf down, and if you check the fridge, freezer, and cupboards, you'll see that they are all pretty crammed full. Feel free to eat whatever you want, whenever you want, however much you want. It's all for you.

P.S. The water bottles labelled 'Aimee' are OFF LIMITS. Seriously, they're dangerous for you to drink, so don't drink them. it read.

"Nobody did." Lex responded.

"This caught everyone off guard." he sighed.

-Some time later-

Maddy and Gregory were having another chat in the realm she was stuck in, when Gregory suddenly stopped talking.

"Ah." he said.

"Time for you to go." he told her.

"When you wake up, you'll be hungry. Remember that." he said.

He then raised his scythe, and cut the air, forming a slit in front of Maddy, which opened slightly.

"In ya go."

"......" Lex was silent as he heard that.

"Ah... right." he said.

"Right, I'll... I see the scope of the situation now." he told her.

"I... yeah, this'll be a major shopping trip." he went on.

"At least we have some time before she wakes." he reasoned.

"And I can finish this before I head out."

"I'll do that, then." Lex replied.

"But yeah, I'll grab some stuff so Maddy can make her own food, but I'll also grab a pizza while I'm out." he told her.

"An extra-large one." he went on.

"You know, just so she has something immediate." he reasoned.

He then took a bite of what he was given, and seemed to perk up immediately.

"Mmm!" he exclaimed with his mouth full.

"This is so tasty!"

Lex nodded in response.

"Yeah." he said.

He then went and sat down, sighing quietly as he did so.

"Aimee." he then addressed her.

"I'LL go out and get the food." he offered.

"I'll pick up some stuff." he went on.

"It's the least I can do right now."

"Hm." Lex mumbled.

"Yeah... yeah, that makes sense." he said.

"Her body went through a lot." he reasoned.

"And yeah... I'm famished." he said further.

"Thanks." he went on.

"Aimee... seriously." he muttered.

"Thanks for everything."

Lex was silent and went to the fridge, peeking inside.

"...nope. Don't see a pitcher here." he told her.

"But I'm guessing the bottles of water labelled 'Aimee' are not to be touched." he then chuckled.

"Bet I can guess why." he said further, shutting it.

"Anyway, glad you're okay." he repeated.

"...don't think either Maddy or I would have taken it well, otherwise..."

"......" Lex was silent for a moment, before nodding.

"RIght." he said.

"I'll remember that." he told her.

"Should also make sure Maddy doesn't drink from it, either." he went on.

"...also... a blessed pitcher?" he asked.

"Where...? How...?" he started to ask further, before shaking his head.

"Lemme guess, Uriel?"

"....really." Lex said.

"Gregory did that, eh? That's... uncharacteristically nice of him." he commented.

"And she won't be up for another 8 hours?" he went on, looking at the time.

"Wow. That... shouldn't surprise me, actually." he said.

"That was... one HELL of a maturation." he went on.

"...to MASSIVELY understate it."
