"The ride will take about an hour." Adym responded.

"And... the ground?" he asked.

"Hm." he mumbled.

"Well, mostly soft." he said.

"It's a forest." he told her.

"And not one with many paths, sadly." he went on.

"So the ground will be uneven and soft."

"I try my best not to grow attached to physical belongings." Adym replied.

"...try." he then clarified.

"I fail sometimes." he admitted.

"See that one that's far too small for either of us?" he asked.

"My mother and father gave it to me when I was a child. It has sentimental value. But the others are mostly just there because they serve different purposes." he explained further.

"Anyway, we need ammo and such." he went on.

"And we'll hitch a ride to the forest. Or as close as they'll take us, anyway."

Adym just rolled his eyes.

"Oh, please." he said.

"Sullying it? I'm a Wood Elf. Not a High Elf." he muttered.

"...or a Dark Elf, for that matter..." he added, before pausing and shaking his head.

"Ah... never mind that." he said.

"ANYWAY!" he quickly went on, grabbing a bow for himself, and the one she wanted.

"Now to get quivers, arrows, and a small blade or two."

"...ah..." Adym stammered, before pausing.

"I mean... well... you're not wrong." he admitted.

"All right." he said.

"Pick one." he told her.

"Which do you want?"

Adym was stunned for a moment.

'...well, THAT helps matters. A LOT.' he thought.

"Huh. All right then." he said.

"This way." he told her.

The two of them then made their way to a room with three large cabinets in it. He went to one, and opened it, revealing 6 bows that looked to be exquisitely crafted, and looked like they would certainly get the job done, to understate it. Some were smaller, some were larger, some looked mid-size.

"Hmm." Adym mumbled.

"Which one... which one...?" he wondered, looking through them.

"You're no burden." Adym assured her, before they arrived at his house.

"I know what to expect." he told her.

"As for what to take... surprisingly little." he then said.

"Trust me when I say we'll be all right for shelter, and food is abundant where we're going..." he continued, seemingly thinking aloud at this point.

"The biggest thing will be a couple of changes of clothing, just so we can wash the dirty clothes from time to time, and we won't stink." he chuckled.

"...and weapons." he then realised.

"...do you know anything about fighting or survival or anything?" he asked her.

'...what am I saying? Vyran completely screwed with her mind. She won't remember anything like that.' he mentally lamented.

"Hm. Fair enough." Adym responded.

"Anyway, we need to head back to my house." he told her.

"Need to pack for the journey." he said.

They then started to walk, and Adym sighed.

"I'm not saying you have to come with me." he commented.

"But... I don't think it would be best for you to be alone in this world." he said further. "So I would highly recommend that you come with me." he continued.

"Only if you're okay with that, though." he quickly added.

"......" Adym wasn't sure what to say, before nodding.

"Very well." he replied.

"Thank you." he said to her, bowing respectfully.

"Come on, Callie." he told Callie.

"Let's... well, let's go." he said.

The two of them then exited the tent, and he sighed.

"Guess we'll find answers in my home village." he said.

"Sorry I couldn't find a more immediate answer for you." he apologised to her.

Adym was silent as he witnessed the exchange between the two females, and then looked at the assistant.

"...home?" he asked.

"Well... I mean, sure." he then said.

"We were just there, but-" he started to say further, before the look he received made him stop mid-sentence.

"...ah." he stammered.

"You don't mean my house, do you?" he asked her.

Adym was silent for a moment, before nodding.

"All right." he replied.

"I understand." he told her.

He then looked at Callie.

"This is her assistant." he said. "Sometimes the Seer needs to leave for various reasons. But I guess she knew we were coming, WHY we were coming, and left something for us." he explained.

"This is Callie." he then introduced her to the assistant.

"Anyway, can you help us?" he asked the woman.

"We should be able to." Adym replied.

With that, the two of them entered the large purple tent, and sure enough, the inside was as she expected. Dreamcatchers, charms, smoke that smelled nice, it seemed pretty... standard, for a seer or someone akin to it.

However, Adym looked a bit concerned.

"...eh?" he mumbled, looking around.

There was a female there, and Callie at first thought that SHE was the seer, until Adym spoke.

"Excuse me." he addressed them.

"We're here to consult with the Seer."

'...so she can still use her powers, but only in a time of 'need'...' Adym thought. 'And it's reflexive... seems she's unaware that she can do it, or when she DOES do it.' he went on.

He then nodded.

"Yeah." he replied.

It hadn't escaped him that she had said her statements with a blank slate of a face, with matching tone of voice. He wondered just how true her statement was... if it even WAS true...

"Let's go." he said.

With that, the two of them left the house, and made their way down the small road. As they did, Callie saw several shops and vendors, all of them selling various things, from jewellery to fresh bread.

She also saw people are creatures that she thought were fictional. Adym was an elf, she saw what looked to be fairies flitting about, in the distance, she swore she saw a centaur, but they were gone before she had a chance to properly process it.

"This is a hub town." Adym said, seeing her looking around.

"Lotta different races pass through here."

"......." he was silent as he looked at Callie, before sighing.

He sat down beside her on the step, and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Hey." he said.

"Don't worry." he said further.

"We'll get your memories back and find out what's going on." he told her.

"I promise." he added with a small smile.

'...we'd better.' he then thought.

'Your future, and the future of this realm depends on it...' he finished in his mind. He didn't want to tell Callie any of this... as, again, she was overwhelmed in the first place.

He didn't need to add more weight to her. Not yet, anyway.

Adym nodded and started to gather up the dishes.

"I just need to run these back into the house." he told her.

"If you want, head to the front of the place and wait for me." he continued.

"I'll be but a minute." he assured her.

He then lifted the tray up and disappeared back into the house... as the critters milled about around her feet.
