Vincent was silent, and just pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Right." he said.

"Again, clearly, there's more to this story than you're saying." he commented.

"Care to elaborate some more?" he asked her.

"Or is this a case where I am just meant to accept that you died, and... somehow got better?" he asked further.

"If so, I can leave right now, just so you can rest, and I'll stop wasting both our time."

"Ah! Yes!" Vincent interjected.

"That brings me to my next question." he said.

"Madison, WHAT happened down there?" he asked her.

"What in the name of all realms went down in that pit?" he asked further.

"Because whatever it was, it was on a grand scale." he told her.

"The entire structure shook."

Vincent looked at the new person.

And Madison could see that he was stunned.

"Cl... Cl..." he stammered.

"Cleo?" he asked.

"It's... it's really..." he started to say further, before sighing.

"I... I see." he said.

"You truly ARE something, Madison." he told the girl. "To be on such a casual basis with Cleopatra of the Nile."

"Right." Vincent responded.

"Tell me." he said.

"I'm going to make a series of statements, and you'll tell me if they're right or wrong." he continued.

"Statement 1: You are a mage." he said.

"Statement 2: You did not have active mana when you came here." he went on.

"Statement 3: You had a mana lock inside you." he continued.

"Statement 4: THAT'S what you lost, what you were referring to earlier, and not your scarf, and what all your strange thoughts have been about."

"...I see." Vincent replied.

"Duly noted." he told her.

"Samuel, let us inform the rest of the party about this." he said to his friend.

"Indeed." Samuel replied.

"I'll say it now, I am VERY eager to continue exploring it now." he then admitted with a hearty chuckle.

Samuel just chuckled.

"Indeed." he said.

"Mmhmm..." Vincent mumbled.

"Madison." he then said to the girl.

"We need to talk." he told her.

"But preferably when we're alone." he continued.

"I think you know what about." he then added.

Samuel took the staff and looked at it.

"Looks like something a pharaoh would use as a status symbol." he commented.

"There's functionality to it, obviously, but it seems so ornate that it was mostly used to flaunt their wealth and power." he went on.

"But you're right, we should leave it here for now." he reasoned.

Vincent was silent for a moment, looking at the staff, and smirked.

'...yes, that should work nicely.' he thought to himself, before sighing quietly.

"Let's make our way out." he told the group.

"Odds are those outside are quite concerned by now." he added.

There was silence for a moment, before Vincent heard Lex's voice from the phone.

"...I know Gregory's voice. If he says it's Madison, it's Madison." he said.

"....right." Vincent responded.

He then ended the call and hung up, before looking at Madison.

"Well... let's go, then." he told her.

"I assume you need some help getting out." he commented.

"How badly are you hurt?" he asked.

"......." again, Vincent was silent for a moment.

He then called her emergency contact, and waited for an answer.

"Alex, it's Vincent." he said when the phone was answered.

"We have a situation. We have someone here that looks like Madison but there are some discrepancies... plus, when we question her for info that only SHE would know, she merely gets angry with us." he continued.

"...uh-huh... mmhmm... mmhmm..." he mumbled further.

"I... guess she intends for you to come here and verify who she is." he said.

"...no I'm not joking. Yes... yes... I'll give you the coordinates and you can... well, either meet us outside the pyramid, or inside the pyramid." he went on.

"...you're in the middle of meeting a client right now?" he then asked.

It was then that Michelle, Vincent, and Madison, saw Gregory appear out of nowhere.

"For the love of all things common sense, SHE'S MADISON, YOU DUMB FUCKS!" he exclaimed, his patience clearly gone.

"NOW GET HER OUT OF THIS DAMN PLACE BEFORE I OVERSTEP MY BOUNDARIES AND REAP YOUR THREE PATHETIC SOULS RIGHT NOW!" he yelled further.

Ryker was silent for a moment, before sighing heavily.

"...yeah, probably the best thing to do." he said.

He then made his way back inside, and stretched out.

"Maybe I should hit the sack." he mumbled.

He looked around, before making his way to his room and collapsing in his bed.

Vincent was silent, before sighing.

"....hm." he mumbled.

"That was a vague answer." Samuel responded.

"Ah!" he then said, snapping his fingers.

"Do you remember what Dr. Kenzey said about you on one of the drives here?" he asked her.

"Specifically, why she was glad you are as young as you are?" he asked further.

"........" Vincent was silent for a moment.

"I know." he said.

"Madison." he addressed the girl.

"If you ARE Madison..." he continued.

"Tell me, why did I accept you for this dig?" he asked.

"What put you above the others?"

"Madison!" Vincent exclaimed, rushing towards her.

"Are you all right!?" he asked her.

"What happened!?" he asked further.

Samuel, meanwhile, looked around the room.

"...this looks like a rather ornate pit trap." he commented.

"I'm... amazed Madison survived it." he said further.

"This is truly a wonder... both this AND her." he added, looking towards Madison again.

They almost fell over from the pulse, and Vincent was silent for a moment.

"I do not know." he replied.

"And I am nervous about finding out." he said.

Meanwhile, down in the pit, Madison heard light tapping on one of the walls... as though someone were tapping an implement on it... mere moments before a part of the wall slid open, revealing a spiral staircase.

And at the exact same time, a panel slid open near Vincent and crew, revealing a spiral staircase down.

"....hm." Vincent mumbled, seeing it.
