Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...
my little jokes on thee...
Leo nodded.
"Food." he said.
He then took out his phone and worked on it for a bit, getting some input from Desiree. And, thanks to it being a mage-owned and operated place, the food was teleported right into Desiree's apartment, because Leo had paid ahead.
And Desiree saw he got a fair amount.
"All right!" he said.
"Let's dig in!" he declared.
"And the rest you can have over the next day or so."

"Oh, I see!" Leo responded.
"...seems you're still having trouble with names, though." he said.
"But still. Your speech is MUCH clearer than before." he complimented her.
"And I mean it. Good stuff." he reiterated, giving a thumbs-up, and finishing with the laptop.
"Done." he said confidently.
"May it serve you well."

Leo suppressed a chuckle, but his face turned a LITTLE red when she struck her pose. He had to admit, she was a beautiful woman, in both looks AND personality... and if he hadn't met Nakia first...
"Cool." he then said, quickly changing his line of thought.
"I'll order some after I finish the tinkering." he told her.
"...by the way, did you find a speak therapist?" he asked her. "In the short time we've spoken, and you've actually talked, I've noticed you're a LOT clearer than in the past." he commented.
"So yeah, you find someone to help with that?"

"...yeah, that's fair." Leo sighed.
"And it'll be on me, of course." he told her, before pausing a moment.
"I'm thinking Chinese." he then said, figuring he'd get a lot, so she would have leftovers for the next couple of days.
"What about you?" he asked.
"Chinese? Something else? You craving something in particular right now?"
"And it'll be on me, of course." he told her, before pausing a moment.

"Well, if you need help with any of that, lemme know." Leo said.
"For now, this laptop will do, so that you'll have a reason to get the internet, and perhaps have something to do while you're home." he reasoned.
"Or whatever." he added.
"Anyway, shouldn't be too much to do to this." he continued.
"Want to go out to eat, or order in? To celebrate your new place?" he asked.

Leo nodded in response.
"You're very welcome." he said.
He then sat down by the laptop and started to tinker with it, to try and improve it.
"By the way, does this place have internet?" he asked.
"I noticed the place is kinda small, only about 5 units, is there a central net connection?" he clarified.
"Or are you responsible for your own?"

Leo shrugged, and thought about it.
"Actually..." he muttered.
"I suppose I COULD soup it up a little to get it better than it is." he commented.
"And yes, it's for YOU, Desiree." he clarified.
"In these days, it's practically a necessity to have a personal computer." he reasoned. "And I DON'T mean your phone, even though it can technically be seen as one!" he quickly clarified.
"And if it stays with me, it'll probably end up neglected until it's used for spare parts." he chuckled. "Better it see ACTUAL use here."

As she headed back, she saw Leo waiting for her, smiling.
"It's nothing special." he said. "One of my older laptops." he admitted.
However, a recently unused laptop from Leo was STILL a decent laptop. Pretty top of the line, as he was a tech nerd.
"But you should be able to make use of it." he reasoned.
"Gave you a mouse and a few other things with it." he shrugging and accepting his drink.

"I remember." Leo replied, as they stepped into her new apartment.
He looked around as she shut the door behind them, and nodded.
"Nice enough place." he commented. "Bit small, but nothing wrong with that." he reasoned.
"Now for a surprise that probably isn't a surprise." he then said.
With that, he took off the backpack he'd been wearing, pulled out a black and silver laptop computer, and handed it to her.
"Cords and accessories are in another pouch of the pack." he chuckled.

Leo just sighed.
"That sucks." he said.
"No other real way to put it." he muttered.
"But at least you have your own place." he went on.
"And Dean has been super awesome to you." he said further.
"Seriously, he seems like an amazing fellow."

The one there raised an eyebrow, before seeming to get it, and shaking his head.
"Naw." he replied.
"He's here to see you, and that's cool?" he asked.
Desiree nodded in response.
"Have a nice day, then. he then said, as Desiree and Leo left the room.
"Good to see there's some security here." Leo said to her.
"Some degree of safety is ALWAYS good."

That sucks. she received in response.
Anyway, I need to get ready. I'll call if there's any issues. he then sent.
Once she'd responded, her phone went silent, and remained silent for the next 12 minutes or so, before she got another message.
Seems I did get sent to that one room. Leo told her.
And there's a guy here saying he needs proof that I'm here for the reason I am... which is, to see you. he then added.

There was a pause on the other side for a moment, before she received a response.
Duly noted. the response said.
I'll let you know when I transport there what happened. he told her.
'Or, well, have Nakia do it. Whatever, you know what I mean. he then sent, before there was another pause.
You have an internet connection there? Or a computer or laptop, even? he asked her in another text.

A few moments later, she received a reply.
I can be there in about 10 minutes. Leo sent.
That good for you? he then sent further.
I'm dying to see the place you've claimed as your own. the third one said, and she knew that was meant to be a little joke.
She could picture him chuckling at that one.
