Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Hal blinked a couple of times, before leaning forward and burying his face in his hands.

"Ohhhhhhhh no-no-no-no-no-no-no-no-noooooo..." he groaned quietly in a muffled tone.

"..." he was then silent, before taking one of his hands away.

He brought his fingers together... and snapped them.

Instantly, Erica's head was filled with... images, scenes, swirling colours, and a lot of noise that was melding together. However, she kept seeing Michael over and over again... and a golden glowing crystal he had with him...

...before she was snapped back to reality.

great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

"Oh!" Hal exclaimed.

"Well then, that's-" he started to say further, before pausing.

"...that's not fantastic, is it?" he asked rhetorically, sighing. Again.

"All right, keep the news coming." he told her.

"I get the feeling what you have to speak with me about is far from done yet."

Hal... did not like what he heard. He narrowed his eyes, before pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Fantastic." he snarled.

"Are YOU all right?" he asked. "Physically, anyway." he clarified.

"I am." she confirmed.

"At least there's THAT." he said.

"But Gabriel is now on the path to becoming a Fallen." he muttered further, shaking his head slightly. "We're in trouble if he actively starts to come for you." he continued.

"But we'll protect you will ALL our power." he vowed to her. "I promise."

"..." Hal was silent, before looking to Ash.

"You have any business here?" he asked.

"Nope." Ash replied. "I was just taxiing Erica here." he told him. "I'll be out of the way now." he finished.

Hal just nodded in response.

"Come in, then." he told Erica, as she entered the room and he shut the door behind her. He then made his way behind his desk, sitting down on it, while Erica sat in one of the chairs in front of it.

"...what's happening, Erica?" Hal asked her, his tone and expression much softer and more concerned now.

my little jokes on thee...

"Cool." Ash responded.

She then grabbed his arm, and they disappeared again, reappearing right in the receptionist's area, just off to the side of her deck, surprising her, obviously.

"Sorry about the spook, Arryn." Ash apologised. "But I figured Erica needed to speak to the boss-man here pronto." he explained, before knocking on the door to the office.

"Sorry about triggering the alarms!" he called in.

There was silence for another moment or so, before the door was opened.

"Security has been notified." Hal said in a bit of an annoyed tone, before noticing Erica.

"...Erica? Is something wrong?" he asked her.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Gabriel managed to return the hug, and let go when she did, watching her make her way back to Ash. He angrily gritted his teeth, and cursed his circumstances, as Ash nodded at her.

"Hang on, then." he said, as she took his hand and gave him her addressed, and they disappeared in a burst of black flames.

They appeared where she had told him to, and he just sighed.

"5 minutes max." he told her.

"Grab and go."

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"Very well." Uriel responded.

"Want to briefly stop by your place to get the phone?" Ash asked her. "I promise I can fend off Fallen pretty damn well." he told her.

"E... Erica..." Gabriel then stammered.

"Be... be safe." he told her, holding back another urge.

"I... love you."

great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

"Are you certain?" Uriel asked.

"Would you feel safe there?" he asked her. "From what was said, it sounded like they were targeting YOU in specific." he said further.

"Hm." Ash mumbled.

"Well, -I- can get you back to the Unit." Ash offered.

"Just... tell me when and come on over for the teleport."

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Ash just shrugged.

"Pretty sure she was doing good to remember who I was." he said.

"...she's given up, Sariel." he then said quietly. "She... she said we may as well spend our last moments being with those we love, because it's all over." he said further.

"I can't do that. I need to fight to try and make sure these AREN'T our last moments." he added.

"...but Michael's broken her spirit." Uriel mumbled. "Stripped her of her position, all her mana, left her for dead with one of those cursed halos on her head..." he listed off growing angrier with each syllable.

"We may be on our own, here."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Ash and Uriel looked at each other, before they sighed.

"For starters, Gabriel and Erica were attacked by Fallen, and one got to his halo as he was attempting to escape with Erica." Uriel told her. "And he estimates he has 24 hours." he said further.

"Also, Emelie has been found." Ash then interjected. "She has been stripped of her Godly mana, as well as any and all elf mana, and had a halo affixed to her head, which scrambled her brains." he continued. "It was removed, her injuries were healed, but she's now quite paranoid and in a very sorry state, probably only trusting Gregory right now." he went on.

"Oh, and in addition to Ascalon, Michael has Framea Solis, which he intends to obliterate the sun with." he informed Sariel further.

"...and Emelie said Michael is legit attempting to usurp her." he finished.

my little jokes on thee...

Uriel was the one that reacted the most. Ash didn't really know Erica too well, and Gabe was a little distracted. But Uriel looked over towards her with a bit of shock and surprise in his tone.

"I..." he stammered.

"Yes." he then said.

"We need to put an end to this." he agreed.

"Michael's trying to usurp Emelie completely." Ash then told them. "He stole Framea Solis, and wishes to destroy the sun with it." he added.

"...terrific." Uriel growled angrily. "Does Sariel know of this?" he asked.

"I have not told her yet, no." Ash admitted, causing Uriel to take his phone out and send a text to Sariel to come there."[/b]

"....24 hours." Gabe replied.

"Yes, that sounds right." Uriel sighed. "When that 24 hours is up, Gabriel will start actively acting like a Fallen." he lamented.

"...kill me... if I try and hurt any of you..." Gabriel then said to Uriel.

"I promise." Uriel reponded.

"I won't like it. But I'll do it." he finished, sadness in his tone.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"Ahhhhhh..." Ash stammered.

"Well, to answer your first question, she's with my cousin's theatre troupe with Gregory." he said.

"As for your second question... I... don't... know...?" he admitted.

"...why don't you know?" Uriel asked quietly, almost pointed.

"Ah, well... you see... Emelie... kiiiiiinda doesn't have ANY mana, at ALL, neither Godly nor elf, and she had a Fallen halo on her for a bit, which scrambled her brain, so she's quite on the paranoid side and who knows when she'll be thinking straight again." AshQ told them.

...and I'll forgive thy

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Uriel didn't say anything at first, and looked towards Gabriel.

"...I can sense that." he told her.

"As for information on Emelie, no, I-" he started to say further, before they noticed a black flame appear off to the side, which revealed Ash standing there.

"Oh good, you're both-" he started to say when he saw both Uriel and Gabriel, but stopped when he looked AT Gabriel.

"...ohhhhhhhhh no...." he mumbled.

"Is there a reason for this sudden visit?" Uriel asked Ash, almost impatiently.

"Emelie's been found." Ash responded plainly.

great big one on me.
