Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Dean looked to be surprised for a moment.

"You?" he asked.

"I did not know you were in the performing industry." he admitted.

"Well, if you will do it, and you're kid-friendly, then I will happily accept your proposal." he then told her further, before pausing.

"Ah, before I do that." he then mumbled.

"What do you do in your act, exactly?" he asked her. "What does it all entail?"

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Dean smiled hearing that she had such a good friend like Leo, but then paused when she asked about whether or not he had found a performance for the children yet. He sighed, and shook his head.

"No." he said. "I have not." he admitted.

"Most of the performers or groups I've talked to either can't because of red tape, or their schedules are too full, or what have you." he told her.

"The only performer that has the time in their schedule is an illusionist that... well... their illusions would be a little too much for the children. It would most certainly scare them." he lamented.

"Why?" he asked. "Do you know of someone?"

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"...well, that is certainly impressive, to understate it massively." Dean responded.

"Truly miraculous, one might say." he added.

"The wonders of technology never cease to amaze." he then chuckled.

"And specially made for you? By your friend, I assume?" he asked her.

Yep. Desiree signed back.

"He's quite talented." Dean then commented.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Dean paused for a moment as he saw the headphones she was wearing... and noticed that she had waved to him without seeing him, as if she had heard him approach her. But she said she was almost completely deaf?

And what were the headphones doing?

He raised an eyebrow, before approaching her even closer, and deciding to try something.

It seemed like she could hear him, so he would test that.

"Have a nice chat with your friend?" he asked her.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Leo nodded.

"That's fair." he said.

He then paused for a moment, shaking his head.

"Again, could probably ask Dean to help you out with getting I.D. and such." he went on.

"For now, here." he continued, taking out his wallet and pausing.

"Wait..." he mumbled.

"I'll exchange what I have for Canadian money and give you that."

great big one on me.

my little jokes on thee...

"...." Leo was silent, before groaning.

"Greeeeeeeat." he said.

"I'll talk to Nakia about getting you a workable base amount again." he told her.

"And you need to speak with someone about getting your I.D. back." he continued.

"At the very least, your health card." he went on.

"And you'll need to probably cancel and close your account and open a new one, maybe at another bank."

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Leo gave her a thumbs-up.

"Glad to help." he said.

"I only wish I could do more." he told her. He'd offered on multiple occasions for her to live with him and Nakia in Egypt, but she ALWAYS refused, citing that she was scared her presence there would absolutely endanger them. And she was stubborn about it, too. After the 5th or 6th rejection, he stopped mentioning it altogether, figuring it a lost cause.

He then paused, before shrugging.

"Need any cash?" he asked.

"I can spare a couple hundred if you need it." he offered.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

She wasn't wondering for long, when she heard the familiar chime of her phone, booting up.

"And it lives!" Leo declared.

He placed the back of the phone back on, and handed it to her.

"Here." he said.

"Make sure everything that was on there data-wise, is still there." he suggested.

"If not, I'll see if I can't help with some sort of data recovery."

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Leo nodded in response.

"All right." he said.

He then went to working on her phone, and seemed to be really concentrating on it, putting on his special glasses to REALLY see into the nitty-gritty of it. He then did some digging and finagling, before sighing.

"Right." he muttered.

"Good thing I brought a spare." he said, taking a battery out of his bag.

"Fixed the smaller issues, but the battery being fried is the big one." he told her. "A new one should bring this thing to life."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Leo just sighed as well, again.

"You're welcome." he said.

"I know your stutter bothers you." he told her. "It's not exactly a secret." he went on.

"Maybe you can ask Dean if he knows anyone that can help." he suggested.

"Some kind of speak therapist or linguist or something." he shrugged.

"If it's starting to REALLY bother you." he stressed.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Leo sat down beside her, and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"...hey." he said.

"It's a safe place. That's what matters." he told her.

"And I think I can get your phone working again." he then assured her.

"So that's even MORE good news." he added.

"Also, the clarity in your headphones should be improved now. Made some minor upgrades in them."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

"...I keep forgetting you can do that." Leo admitted.

"And good. Glad they work again." he told her, as he continued to look at the phone.

"I'm going to open this up and see if I can't repair it." he then said.

"It looks like just the wrong thing was fried, and I MAY be able to replace it and get this thing functioning once more." he went on.

He then looked at her, and smiled slightly.

"I'm glad you've found a place you feel safe."

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Leo accepted the phone and looked at it, before sighing as well.

"Great." he mumbled.

He then opened the shoulder bag he had on, took out a pair of impressive-looking over-the-head headphones, and handed them over towards her.

"Here you go." he said.

"Put 'em on and tune 'em to your preference." he told her further.

He didn't know if she could properly hear him or not, but he didn't have both his hands free to do proper sign language.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.

Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on thee...

Excellent to hear. Leo responded.

I'm glad you have somewhere safe. he told her further.

Anyway, do you want me to take a look at your phone? he then asked her.

And while I'm doing so, I'll give you your equipment. he went on.

Got somewhere you'd prefer to be for this? he inquired.

...and I'll forgive thy
great big one on me.
