"Yeah..." Luke mumbled.

"S'why your Mom can't teleport." he said.

"Trust me, I love how I can be anywhere instantaneously." he then told her.

"And I try not to get a big head over it." he then added.

"Regardless, just make for Darrell's place." he continued.

"I'll bail before you get there."

"Not really." Luke responded.

"I could have teleported home back at the lake, but I just wanted to spend more time with you." he told her with a smile.

"Just go in low around my place and I'll jump onto the roof or something." he said further.

"...or whatever. Honestly, you could drop me off right HERE and I'd teleport home." he laughed.

"Oh, want me to call Darrell's dad and see if he's home?" he then offered.

"Just so you know where you might be going to find him?"

"Makes sense." Luke responded.

"He DOES know blades. Has to, for his work and all." he said further.

"What about your grandfather? Vincent? he then asked.

"I mean, he knows a lot about... well... a lot." he reasoned. "I'm sure he'd know about the enchantments or whatever." he went on.

"I guess it's a question on if you want to know about the sword itself, or the enchantments or mana in it."

"Hoo boy." Luke mumbled.

"You call my sister that, pretty sure NOBODY can save you from the wrath that will come from her smoldering anger." he told her.

"She does NOT take to nicknames or pet names well." he said. "Addison barely gets away with a few of them." he then sighed. "He's lucky she's so head-over-heels for him. In her own way." he commented further.

"But fair." he then said.

"Anyway, whatcha gonna do with the sword?" he asked.

"Ask around and see what you can learn about it?"

Luke just sighed as he climbed on and heard that.

"You LOVE that new nickname for me, don't you?" he asked with a small smirk.

"Where'd that come from, anyway?" he asked her.

"I mean, I know WHY it's a thing. Draydin-Lantha, sea, plants, yeah." he then said. "But where'd you get it?" he asked.

"Do I have your own brain, or someone else's to thank for it?"

Luke got to his feet and shook his hands a little, checking for burns or damage.

"Yeah." he said.

"That DID hurt." he told her. "Doesn't seem like it did any damage, though." he muttered.

"But that was... SUPER weird..." he admitted.

"Anyway, if you want to call this outing over, I'm cool with that." he told her. "You gonna take that blade back home?" he asked.

"And if you feel you can handle both me AND the sword, I'm cool with hitching a ride back."

Luke looked over the sword as well, nodding in agreement to what she said.

"Yeah, fair." he said.

"It's really a piece of work." he commented further. "Looks like when they made it, things were built to last." he added.

"And sure, I can teleport it if you want to." he then said. "Lemme see it." he told her.

She then handed him the blade, but when he gripped it and she let go, the blade slammed down to the ground like Earth's gravity had been multiplied on it, causing Luke to hunch over suddenly and grunt.

"Woah! Heavy!" he declared. "Then again, you're a lot stronger than me." he chuckled.

"Anyway, to teleporting." he said, before concentrating his mana into teleporting it... before nothing happened. And he was then repelled back a few feet, landing on his ass.

Luke looked at the weapon, and whistled quietly when he noticed the edge of it.

"...woah." he muttered.

"That looks like some amazing craftsmanship there." he said.

"An underwater cavern?" he then asked.

"Yeah." she replied.

"Surprised the thing hasn't corroded and rusted to nothing more than scrap." Luke commented.

"What the...?" Luke muttered, wondering what she had.

"YO!" he called to her as loudly as he could.

"DOWN HERE!" he shouted.

When Kelly looked in the direction she'd heard him from, she saw he was on the beach, waving his arms frantically, jumping up and down.

"HEY-O!" he called to her again.

"...the hell's she got?" he then wondered aloud.

Luke was now getting a little impatient, and a little worried. He looked around and saw no sign of her. Nothing at all. He looked over the edge of the cliff to see if she was trying to scare him by popping up from there... but she wasn't there.

He looked to his left, his right, up, down, everywhere.

No Kelly.

"...okay..." he said.

"This is... not... usual..." he mumbled, before shaking his head and cupping his hands in front of his mouth.

"YO! KELLY!" he called out.

"WHERE Y'AT!?"

Luke just sighed again.

"Right." he said.

He then looked around, before nodding to himself.

"...heh." he chuckled.

"And here we go!" he declared, before almost rolling off of Kelly's back.

"See ya at the bottooooooooom!" he called to her as he fell towards the water below.

Luke just sighed when his brain caught up.

"...you love doing that, don't you?" he then asked Kelly.

"But it's why I love YOU."

Luke was silent as he stood at the cliff.

"...I..." he stammered.

"I need to do this." he told her.

"I can't be afraid of diving my whole life." he went on.

"Need to rip that bandaid off right here and now!" he then declared.

"...while I still lack the cowardice to chicken out." he added quietly at the end.

As soon as she fell unconscious, Evan's eyes popped open, and he looked ready to yell out into the room. However, he saw that his sister was right beside him, and looked around, taking the scene in.

'...what...?" he asked himself.

'Wait, what went wrong?' he asked. 'From what I was aware, that SHOULD have w-' he started to ponder, before shaking his head and turning his attention to his unconscious sister.

"No, no, no..." he said quietly.

"Sammy?" he addressed her, but it was no use. She was out cold.

He then bit his bottom lip, and tried to lift her up to take her away from the room, but his own body was too weak from what had just happened.
