"That's all she said to ME." Jaden confirmed.

Cain finished the mouthful he'd taken, and then sighed.

"Of course." he muttered. "Leave someone else to give the unpleasant details." he grumbled.

"Unpleasant?" Jaden asked, concern in his tone.

"Well, relatively speaking." Cain clarified.

"Seems like the two of them were... well... they had a lot of drops of a potent Doll Daisy extract thrown on them, I guess would be the way to put it." he told them, before giving them more information, about both Bast and Jordan.

"They should be fine." he assured them. "But it was weird that they went after the two of them, seemingly ignorant of how Bast is a demonic nephilim." he commented at the end.

Eke could feel Savra get comfortable, and could sense that they were falling asleep. Or, at the very least, they would be dozing for a little bit. Much like a dog or cat would.

Ryker, meanwhile, had put the keys in the ignition, and had started up the car. He had been about to pull away, when Eke addressed him while looking out the window.

"Yeah?" he responded.

"What's up?" he asked.

Cain may have been a demonic zombie... and he was good at keeping his emotions in check... however, the excitement and glee in his eyes when he saw the drink, and heard there was more for him to take home was plain as day.

Both Desiree and Jaden saw it.

"Thank you." he said, accepting the bottle.

"Anyway." he mumbled, stepping further in as Jaden closed the door.

"What DID Llilm tell you?" he asked.

"Was it anything past 'something bad happened, but it's ok now'?" he asked further, taking a drink of the soda and relishing the flavour and sensation of it.

Cain nodded in response.

"Cool." he said, sending a text in response.

Sure, be there in a few. What's the address again? he sent.

Desiree gave him the info, he teleported to the building, approached the entrance, buzzed them, made his way inside when they let him in, and took the elevator to the very upper floors, making his way to the unit in question, and knocked on the door.

Not seconds later, it was opened by Jaden, and he stepped inside.

Cain, meanwhile, was back at his home, and had just unpacked everything, before receiving the text. He looked at it, before sighing.

"Urrrrgh." he grunted.

"Damn Lilim..." he said, before turning to his mother.

"Seems Lilim gave people the bare basics of information." he told her. "Just got a text from... Jordan's mother?" he muttered. "Yeah, Jordan's Mom. Anyway, seems she wants information on what I did to help Bast and Jord." he informed her.

"...and she's bribing me with cherry soda." he then added quietly.

".........you still okay without me here?" he asked her sheepishly.

Jaden paused for a moment, and she saw the enlightenment in his eyes.

"...why did I not think of that." he muttered. "WHY did I NOT think of that." he repeated.

He then looked over towards Desiree, grabbing his phone, but pausing when he saw she was already on hers.

"Ah, right. You're already doing so." he chuckled.

"Well, never mind then." he said, before trying to calm himself down a little more, concentrating on his mental state, and doing a few mental exercises he'd been told by Lindsay over the years.

"..." Jaden was silent for a moment, before sighing again and sitting down beside Desiree.

"Apparently that's not a statement we can make so confidently in the future." he told her.

"Because... well... yes. Both he and Jordan are going to be all right." he said. "But they BOTH needed help from Cain, it seems." he then revealed. "As in, the two of them required help from an alchemist to make sure they were all right. Lilim couldn't help Bast, alone." he told her.

"She didn't tell me any details, though." he then growled.

"Odds are she didn't tell Lex any details, either, so there's no point in trying to get any info from him." he mumbled further.

"Damn it, what HAPPENED, though?" he asked rhetorically, getting a little stressed and worried now. "What could happened that required Cain's help for both? THAT'S what's concerning me right now."

Lex paused for a moment, thinking about it.

"...actually... hm." he muttered.

"One way to check." he said, taking out his cell phone and testing Jaden.

If Lilim's filling you in right now, no need to text me back or call if you don't want to, as I'd just be reiterating what you already know. he sent.

"If I don't get a call or text back, or if he says Lilim's already told him, we'll know for sure." he told his sister.

Sure enough, Jaden HAD been talking to Lilim on the phone, and Desiree had seen his expression darken a little, and become quite concerned. There was then a little confusion in his expression, before he finished with the call...only to check his phone again, and send a text.

Just letting you know I have been filled in. he sent.

He then sighed, and looked at Desiree.

"...welp. Seems Jordan and Sebastien got into some trouble." he told her.

"No, no." Lex responded. "It's fine." he told her.

"Knowing the situation has been handled, and that Bast and Jordan will be all right is enough." he said.

"And even if it weren't enough, I need to distract myself anyway. I mean, I would if I was internally freaking out right now, which I am NOT." he insisted.

"Besides, I can't go home, anyway." he shrugged. "Might as well do something productive." he reasoned.

"I'm just concerned about Jordan's parents." he then said.

"If I recall, her father can be a little... er... overly concerned with her, at times."

"...fair." Lex responded.

"At least they'll be okay. Cain is a prodigy, from what I've seen and heard." he said. "And his mother's taught him VERY well." he added.

"Anyway, thanks for letting me know, and I'll be sure to avoid home for a couple of hours." he told her.

They then ended the call, he sighed, and made his way back to his sister.

"Right." he muttered.

"Long story short, Bast and Jordan were attacked and had Lilim needed to call someone in to help. That person being Cain, it seems, and he pretty much solved the issue, and I need to stay away from home for a few hours until the place stops being saturated in demonic mana." he summarised to her.

"Though now I'm wondering what the hell happened." he sighed.

Lex paused for a moment, as what Lilim told him sank into his mind.

"...I..." he stammered.

"Wait, why?" he asked. "To both of your statements." he told her.

"Why are Bast and Jordan unconscious? And why is the place steeped in demonic mana?" he asked her. "I mean, it usually IS, but for you to comment on it is really something." he then commented.

"I assume the two are related." he then went on.

"But what's going on? Will they be all right?" he asked further, trying not to freak out, internally calming himself down.

At the moment, all the tiredness and wariness he'd been feeling earlier had been yanked out of him, and he could feel the panic and adrenaline surging through him, though he had a feeling that Lilim would have just said outright if there was a problem.

Still. He couldn't help but worry. It was fatherly instinct taking over.

Savra didn't really say anything in response, and just jumped up beside Eke, laying their front half down in his lap, just as Ryker stepped into the vehicle and smiled.

"All right." he said.

"Onward." he commented.

"You both full?" he asked.

"Mmhmm." Savra responded quietly.

"...and you're still snacking." Ryker then said to Eke, with a hearty laugh.

He nodded in response.

"All right." he said.

"I'm off, then." he told her. "See you... well... whenever I see you next." he finished.

He then gave her a little wave, and disappeared into a portal below him. Lilim could see the portal was... well... it was crude. She could see it was unrefined as anything, but it was most likely because the one that had created it wasn't a demon innately. Still... it got the job done.

With that, she was alone once more, but she at least knew that her son was safe, and recuperating.

Lex just yawned as he and his sister finished setting up the circle of crystals.

"Right." he said. "Now we need to-" he started to say further, before his phone went off, the ringtone telling the siblings it was Lilim. He was silent for a moment, before gesturing to his sister and stepping away for a moment, answering it.

"Hello?" he said into it.

"Lilim? What's up?" he asked. "You almost NEVER call me." he said, his voice a tad on the concerned side, wondering if something was wrong.

"Do let me know if there's any changes." he responded.

"I'm just glad I could help." he said.

"Still... I wonder why they were targeted like that..." he then mumbled, thinking about it a little. "Very odd..." he said further.

"Anyway, they'll sleep that off and awake with headaches, but that's nothing new." he shrugged.

"Beyond that... they should just do nothing but improve."
