Nate held his tongue as she said that Cain was weird.

"Well, we're all weird." he said.

"Doubt anyone's truly 'normal'..." he chuckled.

"Also, yes, that is truly a wonder." he then told her.

"Completely blind, but from what I've heard, you're a bit of a star pupil." he commented.

"What do you plan to do after this?" he asked.

"You said you're already working for your Dad... you gonna continue THAT?"

Nate blushed from that, and laughed sheepishly.

"Oh, stop." he said.

"You flatter me." he told her.

He then sighed happily, and looked at the sky.

"I'll tell you one thing, though..." he continued.

"I haven't met this Cain of yours, but I can tell he should be lucky to have you." he told her.

"And I'm sure he is." he went on.

"I hope to someday find someone who's even half as amazing as you. But I think that will be a hell of feat, in and of itself."

"Ah-haha..." Nate laughed sheepishly.

"Yeah, my own doctor's noticed that, too." he said.

"Says that whatever I'm doing, I need to keep doing it, because I was apparently on the path to... well... physical ruination, to truncate what he said." he admitted to her.

"I also never realised just how much of a difference 2 hours of sleep a night makes." he then said further. "Well... 2-3 hours." he clarified.

"But yeah, thank you SO much." he repeated.

"And you're SURE this is all right?" he asked.

"I mean, you must have a lot of savings to be able to... effectively support ME while you support yourself."

"Heh, sure thing." Nate replied.

"Could go for some of that unagi they have, myself." he admitted, as they started to walk.

"Hey... Lunet?" he then addressed her.

"Thanks." he said.

"This month has been... amazing for me." he told her. "My grades have gone up, I'm near the top of my classes, I'm sleeping more, I'm eating healthier, I only need to work weekends now..." he went on.

"All because of you." he continued.

"I wish there was some way for me to repay you for this." he then said.

"I mean, if you're keeping a tab or anything, lemme know. I'll happily repay you that way once I graduate." he added, and she could tell he was sincere with that.

"I am." Nate replied.

"And I believe it's your turn to choose where we're going." he continued.

"So what's it gonna be?" he asked.

It had only been a month, but already Lunet had noticed a marked improvement in Nate's... everything.

He seemed more energetic, more chipper, he participated more in the classes they shared, and just... overall, everything seemed better for him.

His working hours were now reduced to just on the weekends, so his sleep schedule was actually healthy now, as well.

"I..." he started to say, before pausing.

"Well... I want to help people. Simple as that." he told her.

"And... I feel I have the natural talents to do that in this field." he chuckled.

It was the truth, but there was more to it than that... and he wasn't sure if he should say anything about it right now.

-About a month later-

Nate just sighed... but it was a contented sigh... as he sat on the steps, waiting for Lunet. He turned and saw her walking towards him, and smiled.

"Lunet!" he called to her.

"Over here!" he said, making his way towards her, a small spring in his step... and his voice.

Again, Nate sighed.

"Well... see... it's weird." he said.

"It's more complicated than just how much a month I need for tuition... but..." he stammered, before shaking his head.

"Right, to make this extremely simple, I need to earn about $400 a month to break even." he told her. "So... yeah, just to keep myself from going into debt, essentially." he said further.

"That's the end of a long and complicated story." he continued.

"As for what I'm in school for... well... medicine." he then answered her.

"I want to be a medic. A doctor."

Nate was... shocked, to say the least.

"I... I..." he stammered, before sighing.

"Right. I DO think it's strange that you're going to such lengths for... well, one could argue a stranger." he told her.

"...and I admit, that part of me would feel guilty about you spending that much money on me, more than you already are." he then admitted.

".....however, I also admit that my hunger and love of Indian cuisine would MASSIVELY overwhelm that." he continued.

"The trash seems like a blasphemous place for such generosity and food."

Nate hadn't heard her muttering, as she'd said it before he got back.

However, he did notice the slight concern in her expression.

"Hey." he said.

"...everything okay?" he asked.

"Is something wrong?" he asked further.

He was worried that he'd done something to possibly offend her or make her uncomfortable, and if so, he wanted to try and correct it ASAP.

If he could.

"Got it." Nate replied, as the server returned with their drinks.

"Will the lady be needing any assistance?" he asked.

"Not right now." Lunet responded. "My friend knows what to get me for now." she told him.

"Excellent." the server responded.

"Just get our attention if you DO need it." he finished, before heading off.

"...welp, when you're right, you're right." Nate commented.

"Anyway, I'll be back with food for us." he said, quickly going to do so, and returning with various things on his own place, and korma for Lunet... as well as some tandoori chicken as well.

Again, he blushed when she hooked her arm around his, but he led her into the place, where they were seated, each ordered the buffet, and drinks as well. When the sever left to get the drinks, Nate looked at Lunet.

"So... uh..." he stammered.

"Anything you think you want?" he asked.

"I just realised that it might be a bit difficult for you to navigate the buffet itself." he continued.

"Want me to go and grab you anything in specific?"

Nate climbed out as well, and nodded.

"Yes, thank you very much." he echoed.

"No worries." Jake responded.

"And I'll pass your message to Anya." he then told Lunet.

With that, they got out of the way, and Jake drove off, giving them a wave as he did so, but it was for Nate's sake, really.

"Seems like a nice guy." Nate commented.

"Ahhh." Jake replied.

"I see, I see." he said.

"Well, get used to it, kid." he told Nate. "Lunet's just one of those people." he said. "You know... GOOD people." he clarified.

This managed to elicit a chuckle out of Nate.

"Okay, fair enough." he admitted, as Jake pulled up to the place in question.

"And we're here." the driver announced.

"Of course." Jake responded, as Nate buckled up as well. And then they were off.

The drive was only about 4 minutes or so, but in that short time, Nate seemed a little... uneasy. It was hard to tell if it was because of the spider theme in the vehicle, or something else, but he was definitely on-edge.

"No need to be on guard, kid." Jake said.

"Sorry." Nate responded, after snapping to attention.

"Just... lotta new things are happening right now for me." he said.

"Hm?" Jake mumbled, raising an eyebrow slightly.
