Hal chuckled in response.

"Indeed." he replied.

"Thanks." he said, before she left.

Once she did, he called Izea's dorm phone, only for it to go to voice mail. Meaning she was either not back at her dorm yet, or she had decided to go elsewhere before returning there.

"Hello, Izea. Agent Sharp. When you get the chance, can you make your way up to my office? I'll tell me receptionist to let you in immediately, unless I happen to be speaking with someone at the time of your arrival. Thanks." he said into it, before hanging up and telling his receptionist of this.

He then paused for a moment, sighed, and sat back in his chair.

"At least this is one less thing to worry about." he mumbled to himself.

Hal nodded.

"Good enough for me." he said.

"She'll have her cell phone by the end of the week." he told her, before pausing.

"Actually, I'll call her up now for specifications." he then said further.

"Unless you have more to report, or something else to tell me." he went on.

"But this is good." he said.

"I'm glad a workaround has been found."

Hal was silent for a moment, before shrugging.

"Sure." he replied.

"Normally those are only covered for employees, but if it's for a medical reason, then yeah. I can swing the budgets in favour for that." he told her.

"Though I'm going to need an explanation." he said.

"Something to put down as to WHY she needs one." he continued.

"And yes, a LOT of things are good enough for a reason, this is just because of red tape and blah blah blah."

Her impromptu break lasted about 10 minutes, before Sharp returned, stopping when he saw her there.

"Oh, Angela." he said.

"Have you been waiting long?" he asked her.

"About 10 minutes." was the response she gave.

"Sorry about that." Hal apologised, making his way to his office door and opening it.

"Come in." he told her.

"I assume you have an update for me about something, and... judging from your overall expression, it's not immediately bad... or perhaps even GOOD." he added, stepping inside and gesturing for her to follow.

Ryker just laughed.

"IF we're lucky!" he declared.

With that, he rigged a cooking set up, and slapped a bunch of fillets on a pan, and they started to sizzle away, filling the area with a delectable aroma of fish.

"All for you." he told Eke.

"I'm not super hungry right now." he said.

"So when these are done, feel free to devour them ALL."

"Oh, no, I can do that easily." Nate assured her.

Levi just smirked.

"If he messes this up, it's a malpractice suit for YOU." he told Angela, obviously joking.

This seemed to actually terrify Nate for a moment, though.

"Oh, I'm joking!" Levi assured him.

"Come on, my hand?" he then said.

"Oh! Right!" Nate responded.

"This way." he told him, before they both headed into one of the nearby rooms to get him looked after.

Nate looked at Angela, and paused for a moment.

"I..." he stammered.

"All right." he said.

"I hope I wasn't too out of line, there..." he then said further. "I'm not... I haven't graduated yet, and I know I'm not an... employee-employee, more like just a pre-intern..." he mumbled.

"But from all I've seen, Agent Sharp should be all right with this, yes?" he asked her.

"Again, sorry if I stepped out of line or overstepped my... er... 'authority' here..." he then apologised.

"....okay then, yeah." Levi said.

"Yeah, we'll do that." he muttered quietly.

"Come on, Levi." Nate said to him.

"Izea, you can leave if you want." he then told the goblin. "Head back to your dorm, go see Jake, go get some food, whatever." he then told her.

"I don't think Dr. Edwards needs you for anything more here." he finished, as he escorted Levi out of the room.

"...yeah, this... this is really starting to hurt now..." she heard Levi said to Nate.

Levi was silent for a split-second... before chuckling slightly.

"Yeah." he said.

"Anyway." Nate then interjected once more.

"One of us, Angela or I, will go to Agent Sharp for this." he said.

"The other one will look at YOU, Levi." he continued.

"Me?" Levi asked.

"I'm sure you hurt your hand earlier." Nate reasoned.

"...." Levi was silent, before removing his hand from the wall... and seeing that his knuckles were now a very light shade of purple.

"........ow." he muttered.

"Well, see, that's the thing." Levi responded.

"The only times when I really forget about my phone is when I'm at work, engrossed in writing something... so I won't be moving much, anyway..." he told her. "Or when THEY get particularly aggressive." he went on.

"And if I wake up that way, I'll make sure to have an alarm or notification set to remind me to text you my status." he then said.

"If it gets really bad suddenly... which is rare, they tend to try and get a foothold when I sleep... then I can have Ally send you a message on my phone to let you know to stay away." he continued.

"Beyond that, if you start hearing the screams, you can text or call me and I'll make sure to give you time to get away, or I'll find some other way to get where I'm going." he said further.

"Like I said, I rarely ever miss a call or text. But it is possible." he sighed.

"It's not a perfect plan, I admit." Nate chimed in. "But I think it's a solid one, and the best one for... the time being, anyway." he reasoned.

"Well... Levi, you get a very early warning when it's going to be a bad day, right?" Nate asked Levi.

"...yes." Levi responded.

"And you both have cell phones, right?" Nate asked.

"I do." Levi replied.

"Not me." Izea said. "Got a phone in my dorm, but it ain't mobile." she said further.

"Oh." Nate mumbled.

"Well, if we talk to Sharp, I'm sure he'll give you one." he then told her. "Especially if we say it's so that Levi here can give you early warnings on when they're particularly bad, and give updates on serious movement and such." he continued. "I mean, you can hear the screams a decent bit in advance, so you can also send HIM a message in case you start to hear them get closer." he went on.

"..." Levi was silent for a moment, and his shaking stopped.

"Huh." he said.

"That's... not too bad of an idea." he admitted, lifting his head, his tear-stained cheeks and red eyes revealed now. Though his voice DID sound less shaken and broken now.

"I'm sure Agent Sharp will pay for it, considering it's for Izea's well-being." Nate reasoned.

"I'M a freak of nature, too." Levi replied.

"I shouldn't even be alive right now with what I am!" he then exclaimed.

"...okay, by that, I mean those like me generally have a 5% chance to survive as long as I have, so we're not exactly alike, but... but you get what I mean." he continued, trying his best to keep himself composed.

"There has to be SOME way you can just... avoid me, while staying here." he went on.

"...avoid them." he then clarified.

"Um... excuse me?" Nate interjected, having come to see what the noise was about.

"I... might have a suggestion for that." he commented.

At that point, Levi slammed his fist into the closest wall.

He wasn't very strong, so it didn't make a massive noise... and the wall was not hurt in the slightest... and his hand wasn't bleeding. Odds are it would definitely be bruised, though.

His was looking at the floor now, his head hung so that his hair ended up shadowing his eyes, and he was shaking slightly.

"No." he said.

"Fuck that." he said further.

"It's not fair to you to have to leave the ONE good thing you've found in your life, because fate decided that I should be tormented by some stupid cosmic slugs!" he exclaimed.

"It's... it's not fair..." he stammered, as little droplets started to fall to his feet.

Levi was silent for a moment.

"...take off?" he asked.

"Wait, what do you mean?" he asked her.

"If anything, -I- should be the one to take off." he said.

"I'M the one causing you problems." he reasoned. "Okay, NOT me directly, but it's... whatever, you get my meaning." he muttered.

"But why should YOU have to scram?" he asked.

"That's not fair to you. And this is a big building. I'll just need to keep a very strict watch, and try and have a very specific path to places when they decide to yell at me." he reasoned.
