I definitely need to buy dirt and replant some of my herbs, they're dying and I know now that I need to drill some better holes at the bottom of the pots.
I ended up talking to an old friend yesterday for quite some time between my time wrapping presents with my sister [video call].


Oh cool, we have a Fairgrounds now. :d

@Wildfire: absolutely. <3 We definitely have food, we just aren't doing the Thanksgiving traditional type of food.

about 2 weeks ago, I went to the local grocery store to grab a small turkey for the freezer, but it was 40+ dollars. We don't eat a whole lot of turkey anyway, so we'll find different foods to eat this year.
Polt is the only thing I've stuck to for years as far as tradition goes.

@Wildfire: Roommate and I will cook my family's meal called Polt. It's basically norwegian potato dumplings. It's just Super Condensed potatoes with pork inside. No added flavors.. just good ol' potatoes.
Kids and husband will eat what I make, but likely won't eat polt. lol!
I'll have to come up with some healthy foods. Turkey this year is insanely spendy, so skipping that. We'll probably do green bean casserole and whatever else I'll think of last second. CX

@Wildfire: I've totally neglected Thanksgiving. I'm just planning on making one traditional meal with my roommate and that's it. And half the people in my house hate the food I'll be cooking. lol! It's a pretty bland food by American standards.

@Wildfire: I just got a large pile of presents wrapped. I'm impressed with myself. lol.
There's a small wall left in the main room. It got neglected because I have large things against that wall. My friends might be able to help me get it done quickly this weekend. I wonder if they'll be up for another weekend of painting with me. >3<

@Wildfire: I'm actually pretty excited about my house being the "place to go" for Christmas.
Once it was set in stone that my place was "the go-to" for this year, I began that painting project. That room is going to be the designated 'hang out' area for the few days everyone is here.

@blue: My family is gathering to my house for xmas, so I'm getting a load of boxes sent here. It's my job to wrap and keep em organized until people start showing up. The earlier I get the tasks down, the less "last minute" prep I have.

@Wildfire: My sister totally went on a shopping spree. It's nuts! My hallway is full of boxes, I've gotten to about 25% of the load wrapped and organized.
I'm still expecting some 5 or 6 more boxes in the next few weeks.
It's trinkets for my teen nieces, toys for my kiddos, and household items for moms, a dad, and roommates. She even customized stockings and coordinated the wrapping paper to match.
She used to be an event planner, so it makes sense. OH she also sent an inventory list.

@Wildfire: I'm doing really good. I had an adventurous morning. I almost missed the school bus for my daughter because my car was iced over, so I had quickly scraped a window on the driver's side of the windshield and drove with all my windows down to get a couple of blocks away to the bus stop. lmao
I couldn't stop giggling the whole drive because of how cold and ridiculous I felt.

I'm about to be super distracted too. My sister is harassing me to open and wrap gifts from the stack she sent.

At some point in the far future, I need to go to Fl and meet you and see your garden. Maybe by the time I can travel again, you'll have fruit!
