She looked at the Doctor and headed inside with a soft “Thanks.” At the door being held open. “I wouldn’t know where to start...” she paused and smiled sheepishly. “But... could we do the food thing first...? Please?”

“Just the right temperature too. The waves are usually pretty good for anyone wishing to try surfing or any other type of swimming fun.” He said softly, leading her closer to the water.

She smiled softly, “Alright, thank you.” She said shyly, following after her as she led the way. She let her attention wander, checking out the beautiful landscape of the beach. It was warm and relaxing here..All of the other species being on this planet made it seem like her home planet only.. much friendlier.

He nodded, “Where would you like to look first? We could go check out the ocean, or there’s a giant mall behind you.” He said warmly.

She bit her lip again, rubbing her arm shyly. “Oh I.. had a few apples.” She said softly, following her to the doors. Except she left them in the wardrobe with her outfit..

He grinned at her warmly, “Would you like to look around here more, or go now?” He asked curiously.

She watched her curiously, holding on and going a bit red, feeling her face get hot at the response she received. She had always tried to help. It usually wound up with her running from some gang members but.. it kept them from harming the ones less versed in the streets.

She gasped as they took off, tightening her grip until they landed and then cautiously letting go. She had said.. friend. She looked at the console and then back to the Doctor. She could have a friend? “Thank you..” she said softly.

“But when you all get it right, it’s wonderful and it works out for everyone. I could show you.” He said softly, smiling warmly, glad she liked the banana.

She went red at the response, almost flailing. “But I.. how can I pay you back?” She asked softly. She hated just.. taking things. It was necessary, sometimes, in order to eat for the day, but she hated it. She moved to hold onto one of the railings nearby, watching her curiously.

This woman barely knew her and had already let her have a room, a shower, and clothes from her own wardrobe. She bit her lip, feeling bad for hiding what she really was, when all the Doctor was doing was helping her out and being kind. However, past experiences of being stared at and whispered about made her shy about sharing.

“How come you trust me..? Someone who.. has lived on the streets for so long can’t be that trustworthy..” she asked quietly. Could they? She did her best to not stoop too far to that level..

“Humans don’t get it right until much later.” He said thoughtfully, smiling gently. “Much, much later..”

“Alright.” She followed her out, “I might not have enough for clothes yet- but I’d love to see somewhere new.” She said gently, smiling as they got to the console room.

“Yep. Another planet.” He said warmly, stopping at the stand and paying for two frozen bananas, handing her one. “Strict rules about interspecies relationships here. You leave your differences on your ships. Nothing but relaxing here.”

“Oh so like.. a normal day.” She said softly, shrugging. You got those weirdos sometimes, that landed on the planet thinking they could overthrow whatever.. They usually weren’t around long..

“The weather usually stays beautiful. There are a few moments when it’s pretty stormy out, but it’s to be expected.” He said softly, leading her towards a little food stand.
