She looked imat the bedroom, focused on the bed mostly. A.. real bed. “I don’t want to impose...” she said softly, arms still around herself tightly. She wondered what it would feel like to lay on the bed. At the mention of a shower she went red. It had been a little while.. did she smell bad? How embarrassing...

“Ah. Well, I am sorry about whatever has upset you.” He offered her a banana with a gentle smile.

Her arms immediately wrapped around herself at the word ‘friend’ again. She wasn’t use to the word.. One of the other words the Doctor said made her pause. Home. That was it. That was the feeling she had gotten. Warm and home.. She couldn’t place it because she had never felt that way before.. “thanks for... letting me stay the night...”

The Doctor came out of a store with a few bananas in his hand. He supposed he should stock up on other things.. but he’d do that later. Space Florida always had a better selection. He noticed a familiar face, however, and paused. She looked upset. “Did he steal your purse again?”

She looked over at her, nodding quietly. “And warm..” She mumbled shyly. Warm and.. a feeling she had never felt before. She was trying to place it. She turned her attention back to the console in the center, lost in thought for a moment. “What’s her name?” She mumbled, still trying to place the other feeling she had..

The Doctor was pouting at the tardis. She had charged up just fine over the last few days and.. still insisted on landing here. “I seriously doubt we will run into her again.” He said softly, patting her as he walked out.

“But I love a good walk around Earth..so I’ll enjoy the area. Maybe I’ll get some bananas..” he smiled warmly and headed for the nearest store.

She blinked a few times, looking between the woman and the blue box. Okay? Different? Once the doors opened however, spilling all the warm lights out on her, she brought her attention back to the box and.. her jaw dropped. It looked like.. She stepped around the blue box, checking each side before moving back to the doors.

Really different. Hesitantly, with a look at the woman, she stepped inside. Well, if it was a trap, she definitely fell for it. “It’s..” She was at a loss for words..

Once they stopped in another alley near what appeared to be a giant blue box labeled “POLICE PUBLIC CALL BOX” she looked around nervously. Had she just been lured into that trap she had dismissed? “...Where is your ship?”

He smiled gently, looking the other way as she headed off. He knew, in a way, what she was thinking.. “Alright ol’ girl. Should we try once more to get you to Cardiff?” He asked the alley thoughtfully. Perhaps he’d run into the girl again sometime. She’d make a great companion.. but he wasn’t sure asking her now was the best idea. She thought he was crazy after all.

She nodded, pulling her hair back into a ponytail as they walked. “Back alleys are better...” she said quietly, not wanting to be seen under street lights..

“Oh. No. She’s not a boat.” He said softly. “I travel through space.” He said it as plain as announcing that the sky was raining elephants and it had to be true..

“Artemis...” she said softly, still hesitant, but taking her hand and shaking it. “Thanks for the offer..” she added in, squirming a little. Now that she was face to face with her, she felt like.. it was ok to trust this woman completely. Unfortunately she still had the nagging what if feeling.. but it was outweighed now by how inviting this new person felt.

“Oh- that was my ship.” He replied warmly, still beaming at her. “She wanted to land here for some reason. She wanted to charge but decided to take a detour.” He shrugged a little, bouncing on his feet again.

Friends.. not a word she ever really used. The thought made her a little sad. Anyone she had ever trusted just stabbed her in the back in some way or another. Mostly by waiting for her to be asleep and stealing what she had.

Hesitating again, wondering if it was all just a trap to get her on ground level and then arrest her for something. She slipped down the ladder against her extreme better judgement. “...Alright..”
