Azazel nodded.

"Yeah." he replied.

"You do." he said.

"I'll make sure that you get medical attention afterwards." he then assured her. "Seeing as, yeah, I can imagine Lilith planning this far ahead." he muttered, shaking his head.

"Regardless, I'll wait." he told her.

"When you're ready, we'll head to the Pit."

"Yup." Azazel replied.

"Thing is, it's an improper one." he told her.

"Not made correctly." he continued.

"And since I'm not stupid enough to try and ask Lilith herself for help... I came to you." he went on.

"You're not Lilith, but you ARE of her line." he said.

"That, plus the fact that it's unstable, MAY be enough for you to close it." he reasoned.

"...I... well..." he stammered, before sighing.

"Long story short, there's a Lazarus Pit in San Diego." he told her.

"And we need the help of the demon that created it, to shut it down." he went on.

"...buuuuuuuut that's probably impossible." he continued.

"Lilim, I sensed that mana at its core." he told her.

"...it's Lilith's."

"..........ah, sorry if I'm interrupting something." Azazel apologised.

"But I need to speak with you." he told her.

"Like... NOW." he said further.

"It's... kind of an emergency." he added.

That was when they heard a male voice call out from within the house.

"Who's there, Lil!?" they asked.

Hal just continued to hold Sierra.

"You're welcome." he said.

"We'll help you get through this. I promise." he told her.

Meanwhile, in another part of the world, Azazel made his way to the front door of a decent-sized townhouse, pausing at the end of the driveway.

"Yeah, this should be the right address." he said to himself.

He then walked up to the front door, stopping when he got close.

"Ohhhhh yeah, I can sense her." he mumbled, approaching the door and pressing the doorbell.

"Well, that's fair enough." Ryker responded.

"Just... I mean... well, I'm just thinking of the future." he told her.

His face then suddenly turned beet red.

"Shut up!" he hissed to... what seemed to be himself, but was most likely the demon.

"That's so crude!" he said further, before pausing.

"Yes, that doesn't make it any less true but-" he started to say further, before clearing his throat and looking at the woman.

"Eh-heh, sorry about that." he apologised.

Hal realised something now.

He could be a boss to her... or he could be a friend.

Right now, Sierra needed a friend.

As such, he made his way around the desk, crouched down, and gave Sierra a hug. A hug that showed her she really was not alone. She truly DID have people that were willing to help her. That cared for her.

"Sierra, we'll do all we can." he told her.

"I promise." he said.

"You have plenty of people here, and they'll all do everything in their power to help."

Hal took a chance here, and reached across the desk, placing a hand atop one of hers.

"Sierra." he said, his voice soft.

"We're here to help." he told her.

"In any way we can." he said further.

"Let us try and help you get through this." he went on.

"Both personally AND professionally." he continued.

"No matter what, you have friends here."

"............." Hal was silent for a moment, before leaning forward.

"Sierra." he said.

"I will be candid here as well, let us help you to NOT feel useless." he said further.

"You may be unaware of this, but when you appeared in the security area, your mana was almost overwhelming." he told her. "You're strong. Far stronger than I think you realise." he continued.

"If you feel you must leave us, I have no right to stop you." he went on.

"But I implore you... please let us try and find something you can do. Perhaps you have new skills or abilities that would be helpful to us."

"Again, true." Hal agreed.

"A shame we're not the sort of organisation to try and see what your new talents may be, and try to put them to good use." he said.

"Real shame." he went on.

"I mean, it's not as though we did that when you first came here, and would extend the same courtesy to you." he continued.

"...yep, real shame." he mumbled, shaking his head.

"Anyway, sorry you feel this way." he finished.

"Hm." Hal mumbled.

"I see." he said.

"Yes... yes, it is true that you were very good at crowd control while you were a banshee, and that as you are currently, you cannot carry out those duties." he admitted.

"A shame you think I'm the sort of person that would let you go for reasons beyond your control." he went on.

"Especially when this happened while you were on a mission FOR the Unit." he continued.

"I assure you, I'm NOT that callous, though." he then assured her.

Hal nodded.

"We shall." he replied.

The two of them then headed through the hallways, before reaching his office, to which they both entered.

"All right then." he said, as they sat down, him behind the desk, her in front of it.

"Tell me." he said further.

"Why do you wish to tender your resignation?" he asked her.

"Why do you want to leave us?"

"....." both Hal and Jake were silent as they felt the mana, before Jake sighed.

"Hello again." he greeted her.

"Yes... yes, this is Sierra." Hal confirmed.

"I guess this is what she looked like in life." he commented.

"Fair enough, then." Jake said.

"Sorry." he apologised to Sierra.

"Was just doing my job." he shrugged.

"Describe yourself." Hal responded.

"Physically." he told her.

She did so, and Hal nodded to himself.

"Right." he said.

"5 minutes." he told her.

"Show up in 5 minutes, and I will be there personally to escort you to my office." he said further.

"Is that all right?"
