The man was silent for a moment, before clearing his throat.

"Yes, of course." he responded.

He then stepped out of the way and let her enter, to which she did. He shut the door behind her, and was silent again, before shaking his head.

"Right." he said.

"Bathroom is up the stairs." he told her.

"Turn right, and it's the third door on your right." he said further.

"Got it?" he asked.

The demon grinned.

"Heh." he chuckled.

"Nice." he said.

It was at that point, Ryker took over again, his eyes wide.

".....I.... uh...." he stammered.

"Yes... well, uh... heh." he stumbled over his words further.

"I... I look forward to it."

Meanwhile, inside the home, there was only one person. A person that had been sound asleep on the couch. However, something had disturbed them mere moments before he heard the knocking on the door (which was good, because otherwise the knocking would have gone unnoticed by him).

"What the!?" he exclaimed, looking around.

"...what is...?" he started to ask, before looking in the direction of the front door, where he'd heard the knocking.

"COMING!" he called out. "GIMME A SECOND!" he added.

He then slowly got up off the couch and quickly gave his body a bit of a stretch, before standing up and straightening out the wrinkles and rumples in his clothes a bit. He then pushed down some of the... wilder... parts of his bedhead, before sighing.

He walked over towards the door and looked out the peephole, only to see... nothing.

"Eh?" he mumbled, before opening the door... and seeing a little girl there.

"Ah?" he muttered, witnessing her.

"Yes? Can I help you?" he asked.

Cain just smiled a little.

It did his heart good to see her laugh like that, and legitimately smile.

"Heh." he chuckled.

"Well... glad I could help SOME." he told her.

"Even if it was just making a suggestion." he went on.

"Want me to step out to give you some privacy for the call?" he asked.

"...I..." Cain stammered.

"I don't... I mean... maybe I..." he said further, before sighing.

"I know what you mean, but at the same time, I have no clue what you mean." he said.

"....maybe you need to talk to someone that knows about this." he told her.

"Confide in them." he went on.

"Doesn't your Dad have a regenerator working for him?" he asked.

"Maybe you can talk with THEM."

"....yeah... that..." Cain muttered.

"That's... I mean... hm." he mumbled.

"I had no idea that was a Lazarus Pit you fell into." he told her.

"...I guess this is really hard for you now." he went on.

"...I wish I could do something about it." he continued.

"But I can't." he admitted.

"And I hate that."

Cain shut the door, and made his way over.

"It's... okay." he said.

"After what happened, I understand." he told her.

".....I'm sorry." he then apologised.

"I tried to catch you." he said further.

"...I was too slow." he said quietly.

"Please... I'm so sorry..."

"Very well." she heard him reply.

About a minute later, the door slowly opened.

"...Lunet?" Cain asked, poking his head in.

"Hey." he greeted her, stepping inside and looking back at the door.

"Uh... want me to shut it or leave it open?" he asked.

"Just.., which would be more comfortable for you?"

Cain watched her go, and sighed.

"Well... at least she's back." he said.

"At least there's that..." he mumbled.

"It worked. This is... probably the best outcome." he said to Kiah.

"I'll tell the right people so you can just go home." he told his mother.

At some point, there was a knock on her door.

"Lunet, honey, you have a visitor." her father said through the closed door.

"It's Cain." he said further.

"Shall I tell him to just scram?" he asked her.

Again, Ryker's face turned red, before the demon took over.

"Yeah? That so?" he asked.

"All right, before I disappear again." he went on, smirking slightly.

"Talking about... oh, how do mortals phrase it...?" he wondered aloud, thinking about it slightly.

"Smashin' you!" he declared.

"The horizontal monster mash!" he said further with a laugh.

Cain looked at his mother, and smiled.

"...Mom..." he said.

"You're back." he commented.

He then fell back in his chair, a relieved expression on his face.

"Good. Good..." he said.

"I'm glad it worked. I... I have my Mom back." he went on.

"...though, odds are you'll want to be left alone for a while."

"Time is irrelevant here." he responded.

"You know as well as I do that the best I can do is give you some vague approximation that can only relate to your own unique perception of time in this realm." he told her.

"....ok, done." he said.

"Bye!" he exclaimed.

With that, she was shoved by him... hard... and she felt herself fall into a pit of blackness.

"Have a nice triiiiiiiiip!" she heard him call after her... mere moments before she felt herself hit the ground, and opened her eyes.

"Kiah! She's awake!" she heard someone say, after she'd opened her eyes.

He shrugged.

"Dunno." he replied.

"Seriously, dunno." he said.

He then thought about it for a moment.

"Well, by that, I mean that the payment, in the long run, was negligible." he clarified.

"I think the worst of it will be she loses about 50 years off of her life." he went on.

"Which isn't too much, given how long mages live." he shrugged.

"It did." he responded.

"For all the realms." he commented.

"And give Sierra a heads up?" he went on.

"If you remember this." he told her.

"Seriously. Who knows what you'll remember from this little interlude." he went on.

"You could forget ALL of this, and remember it only when it's too late." he continued.

"And you know I have no control over that."
