"Mmhmm, mmhmm." Sharp mumbled in response.

"As for somewhere to stay, they can be temporarily lodged at the Unit." he told her. "If his roommate is coming as well, then the both of them have a place to stay here." he continued.

"So that problem has a temporary solution." he went on.

"And the transferral of credits is simple." he then said. "We have affiliations with three post-secondary institutions here. If you don't remember them, I can email them to you." he continued.

"If they choose any of the three, then the transferral will be a simple and painless experience." he went on.

"If it's any other, then, well, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it."

"........" again, there was silence for a moment.

"Very well." he said.

"Conduits are rare for a reason, and if we can help prevent the fate that happens to most of them from happening to him, we have a moral responsibility to do so." he reasoned.

"Get him to a safe place, and acquiesce to his terms, if you deem them reasonable enough." he went on. "And charge the extra expenses to the corporate account, obviously." he continued.

"Is there anything I can or should be doing on this end in the meantime?" he asked.

Levi looked at the responses, and sighed.

"Guess we're waiting for a bit." he told his roomie.

Meanwhile, when Kiah finally got through to Sharp, and said what she did, the one on the other end was silent for a moment.

"...a conduit?" he asked.

"Are you sure?" he asked her. "Such a person is extremely rare." he told her.

"What makes you think they're a conduit?"

"Well...." Ryker muttered, before sighing.

"That's the thing." he said.

"I managed to get a bulk deal on some good meat, and I want to work through that before I get more." he told him.

He then paused for a moment, and thought.

"...but given that the meat will keep for a good long while, there's nothing stopping me from giving you some fish every once in a while..." he realized.

"So to summarize, no I did not forget you liked fish more, I was just being an idiot about it." he went on.

"I'll get some fish next time I'm out."

"Well, the medic will be no shrink." Ryker said.

"And the police is just something you'll need to deal with." he continued.

He then sighed, and smiled slightly.

"Like the meat?" he asked, changing the subject.

"I added a new spice blend I concocted up, myself." he told him.

Ryker just laughed out loud as he handed Eke the food, and a bottle of juice.

"A medic will show up here tomorrow." he told him.

"As well as the police." he went on.

"They just want a statement from you." he then quickly assured Eke.

"Seems that the guy that attacked you was wanted for various incidents of robbery, assault, and a case of manslaughter." he explained further.

"So... seems you did the city a favour by dealing with him." he went on.

"Regardless, they just want a confirmed statement from you."

Levi nodded as he got out his cell phone, and the card that Kiah had given him.

He looked at the number, before programming it into his phone and sighing.

"Right." he said.

"Let's get the big question out of the way first." he reasoned, as he sent Kiah a message.

It's me from earlier, Levi. I have a question about your offer. he sent to her, before quickly moving onto the next message.

You said that I could make my way out with you as soon as the next few days, would it be possible to extend that offer to my roomie? he asked.

She really wants out of this place, and she's my best friend. he then added, now pausing to allow Kiah to respond.

"........hm." Levi mumbled.

"And she said we could." he told her.

"Hell, she even said I could head out with her in the next few days." he then said. "I'd well imagine that extends to you as well." he reasoned.

"But I can contact her and ask." he offered. "Just to make sure." he continued.

"It'll probably be no trouble at all." he went on, sounding hopeful.

"....looks like things are finally looking up for us." he then added with another smile.

Levi's face was unreadable for a moment... but he then clearly smiled.

"...thank you." he said.

"I knew you wanted to get out of this state, but I didn't know what you thought of San Diego, specifically." he told her.

"If you're willing to come with, I would love for you to." he said further.

"You're my best friend, and I would feel horrible about leaving you behind." he then admitted.

"Ah. Heh." Levi chuckled in response.

"I suppose that's fair enough." he said.

"And yeah, something happened to me today." he told her, taking a small breath.

He then proceeded to tell her what had happened. How he'd met Kiah, what she'd given him, and what she'd said to him.

"...so yeah." he muttered. "I'd have to uproot myself and head to San Diego." he finished.

"...I admit, that sounds very dramatic, but it's true." Levi then said sheepishly.

"And Asian? Yeah, sure, sounds good." he told her.

"Find a menu we have and lemme know what you want." he said.

"You know I can find something from anywhere." he added.

At this point, she KNEW something good had happened. Levi was not normally this casual, this (for him) animated, and this... well... average. He was normally withdrawn and quiet, but he'd spoken more in the past minute, than he had in the past couple of days.

"Yeah, it's late." Levi replied.

"I've had an... interesting day." he commented.

"...on that note, can we talk?" he asked.

"Something big has happened, and it's... well... something that can change my life." he went on, as he sighed quietly.

"Got time for a chat?" he asked her.

"I'll order in some food to talk over, if it helps." he added.

Levi nodded in response.

"Ah, yeah, sure." he said as she left, waving to him. It was all he could do to manage to wave back.

"..........huh." he mumbled.

"This... this day just got very interesting." he muttered to himself.

He then spent the rest of the day in a bit of a distracted daze, eventually making his way back to the townhouse that he shared with someone else.

He sighed as he reached the door, unlocked it, and stepped inside.

"Yo!" he called out when he closed the door behind him.

Levi blushed for a moment, temporarily distracted by the fact that the wallet and card had been produced from her bra. He then shook his head a bit, and accepted the card.

"Ah, thank you." he said.

"Thank you so much." he repeated.

"This means... more to me than you can imagine." he went on, seemingly near tears.

"Ah, anyway." he then said, snapping himself back to reality.

"I'll contact you later this evening." he told her.
