"Eke...." Aly said when she saw he was awake. She had been sitting in the chair by his bed, and she had refused to leave until Eke had woken up.

"You're awake. Good." she said further.

"Are you all right?" she asked.

"Ryker told me everything." she continued.

"It's not fair that this happened to you..." she added, seemingly angry now.

"She can be." Illias admitted.

"But... I do like that about her..." he then said quietly, blushing a little.

"I enjoy working with her, seeing her every day." he continued.

"And she's done a lot for the Unit. I can't see this place without her." he went on.

"......." he then went silent, and seemed to just be smiling to himself now.

Illias' eyes widened for a fraction of a second, but he nodded quickly.

"Oh yes." he said.

"Yes, very much so." he told her.

"She's dedicated, and brilliant, and she's the best tech we have here." he went on, almost raving about her.

"...why?" he then asked.

"Oh... and you're welcome about my guiding you." he quickly added, trying his best not to be completely timid and starstruck.

Illias was silent again, before nodding quickly.

"R-right!" he said, before dashing off.

He quickly raced off to the front door, and just as he got there, he heard Jake and Casey finishing up whatever they were saying.

"Ah, Illias." Jake then said, darting his tongue out a little and unlocking the door for Casey to enter.

"He's your guide to the lab." he told Casey.

Illias was still silent for a moment, before shaking his head.

"Ah... well..." he stammered.

"It hadn't occurred to me that you would know THE Casey Kiczys." he admitted.

"She's one of the most famous and revered necromancers in the world!" he went on.

"She's really amazing."

"......." Ryker was silent, before sighing and standing up, lifting Eke in his arms.

He then slung him onto his back, and started the trek home.

"Why did this have to happen?"' he growled.

"This is gonna mess him up even more." he said.

He then continued to head back home, wanting Eke to wake up in familiar surrounds. In his own bed.

"..........." Ryker was silent, before collapsing on his ass.

'Whew.' he thought.

'Good. He's alive.' he thought further.

He then placed a hand on Eke's back.

"Hey." he said.

"I'm here. You're safe." he told him.

"Damn it all to hell!" Ryker yelled, as he approached Eke.

Once he saw that the dragon wasn't breathing, he started mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, as well as CPR.

"Damn it, Eke!" he said.

"WAKE UP, DAMN YOU!" he commanded, as he continued to try and revive him.

"Don't die NOW!" he ordered.

"Come on! Start breathing again!"

Illias was silent for a moment, almost tongue-tied.

"Ah, yes, hello there." he said.

"I'm Illias." he told Casey.

"....you can talk to the reaper?" he then asked.

"That's... that's amazing." he commented, before shaking his head slightly.

"Wow." he mumbled under his breath.

"Son of a..." Ryker growled, witnessing the scene.

He then shook his head and started to run down the bank of the stream.

"Damn it, damn it, damn it!" he cursed.

"EKE!" he called out.

"Eke, where are ya!?" he exclaimed.

"Come on, bro, answer me if you can!" he yelled further, trying to see if he could see where Eke was.

"......GOD DAMN IT ALL!" Ryker yelled, as he dropped his phone onto the counter and bolted out the door.

"Ryker!" Aly called out, before looking at the phone.

"....Eke..." she whispered.

Meanwhile, Ryker started running faster... and faster... as the demonic strength within him seemed to instinctively fuel his legs, making him run almost inhumanly fast.

And he knew where he was headed.

"..........." Ryker was silent as his phone rang.

"I'm being paranoid." he told himself.

"I'm being paranoid, I'm being paranoid..." he repeated, as he answered the phone.

"Yo." he said.

"You got Ryker."

Aly blushed again.

"Oh, you." she said.

"Yo!" Ryker suddenly chimed in, snapping his fingers.

"They're done." he said, setting a stack of them down, as well as some maple bacon.

"Technically breakfast." he told them.

He then paused for a moment, before throwing together a fruit cocktail and setting it down as well.

"So it at least has SOME healthy components."

"A minute more." Ryker replied, as Aly wrote something down on a piece of paper, and handed it to Eke.

"Here." she said.

"This brand, specifically." she told him.

"They make very good measuring cups, and plastic is less likely to break than glass.' she reasoned.

"I need them for making up your medications in the future."
