Charles' face was frozen in shock and disbelief, his jaw hanging open.

"Wh... wh..." he stammered.

"What the hell!?" he exclaimed.

"There's no possible way this can be real!" he shouted, as he looked around, and then looked down the hallway, back and forth.

"And where did that statue go!?" he exclaimed further.

"What in the name of all things is going ON here!?"

"....a BBC series?" Charles asked.

He then grimaced, and pinched the bridge of his nose.

"Great." he said.

"Now we're equating these things to fictional entities." he growled.

"Averie, listen, we need to find out what's going on around her, and Kiczys is the only-" he started to say further, before they both heard a sickening 'crack', followed by a dull thud.

Aly just sighed, but returned the kiss.

"Please do." she said.

She then paused, sniffing the aroma that had made its way to the both of them.

"Oooh." she mumbled.

"What IS that?" she asked. "It smells heavenly."

"......excuse me?" Charles asked.

"So you're saying you blinked, and it just... poofed over towards you." he said.

"Allen, stay here." he told the other male.

"Averie and I need to talk." he said, walking towards the door.

Allen just sighed, and nodded.

"Yeah, sure." he replied, looking at Averie.

"I'll keep inspecting this thing." he told her. "See if I find anything."

"You need to take your tiredness seriously." Aly told him.

"Any tiredness that cannot be explained due to lack or sleep, or irregular sleep patterns could mean something far more serious." she warned.

"It'll mean a new medication will need to be introduced into your routine." she said.

"But we'll worry about THAT when it's more certain." she added, her tone less serious now.

"And that line may be cheesy, but it's a source of comfort to me." she told him.

"My nan used to say it all the time."

".....I'm not sure we did." Allen replied.

"And even if we did, wouldn't it be in evidence?" he asked, as their boss arrived.

"Okay, what's going-" he started to ask, before pausing.

"...what is a goddamned statue doing here?" he asked.

"Winchester, is this some kind of a joke?" he asked Averie.

"Because this is NO laughing matter."

Aly entered as well, following him to the kitchen, and nodding when he took the pill.

"Yes, it should be." she said.

"Keep taking those pills, and you'll continue to have better days." she assured him further.

"I have some other medications to make up for you, but they'll become more necessary as time goes on." she then said.

"For now, concentrate on today." she continued.

"The past is over with, the future is uncertain, but today is a gift." she told him. "That's why they call it the 'present'." she added with a light smile.

"Don't see how it could have been her, anyway." Allen replied.

"I mean, we'd have seen her in here." he shrugged.

He then approached the statue, and looked it over.

"...amazing craftsmanship." he commented.

"...almost disturbingly so." he went on.

"It the sort of thing nightmares are born from, actually."

"............hi." Allen responded.

"Uhhhh... right then." he said, making his way to his desk and calling the man that Averie had.

"Chief?" he said into the receiver.

"There's a statue here." he told him.

"....yes, I'm sure of it." he then said. "I can see it. It's RIGHT here." he went on, before sighing and hanging up.

"He's not happy, and he's on his way here." he told Averie.

"Uh-huh." he replied.

"Allen will be there in a moment." he told her, before hanging up.

And, sure enough, Allen did show up about 20 seconds later... and the statue still hadn't moved.

"All right, I heard that-" the blonde-haired man started to say, before pausing.

"....uhhhh..." he stammered.

"What is a statue doing here?" he asked.

".....excuse me?" the man asked.

"Detective, you've been working too hard." he said.

"Moving statues are impossible. At least, not the sort of movement that was supposedly caught on those tapes." he went on.

"Kiczys is the only plausible suspect, and I don't need you suddenly believing in the fantasy she's concocted up." he then said further.

"I'll send Allen there to make sure you're okay."

The figure in the room was still and silent. It moved nary an inch.

And there was a good reason for it. It was a statue.

One that bore a remarkable resemblance to the ones that had been killing people en masse.

It just stood there, seemingly glaring at the woman with a look of hatred, pain, and horror in its eerie, blank eyes.

"Oh, of course." she replied.

"By the way, did you take your medication?" she asked.

"The bitter pill?" she clarified.

"You need to take one EVERY day for it to be effective in the long-term." she then warned him.

"DID you?"

"Got it." Hal replied.

"....I'll send them shortly." he told her, before hanging up the phone.

He then pressed the P.A. button, and spoke into the mic.

"Agents King, Vierayen, and Az, please make their way to the R&D lab ASAP." he said, before hurriedly making his way to the lab, himself.

He arrived first, and sighed when he looked around.

"...let's hope this works." he said to himself.
